The trouble with having such a high dose of steroids might mean I could be awake half the bl@@dy night.Im usually asleep by now but no sign of tiredness yet :-S I am in bed but feeling quite wired. At least I have a good book to read on my kindle.A nice psychological thriller just up my street. Plus I can stay awake if Chris and James go to bed and wait for Thomas to come in(if he does)He will be soaked. Did I tell you next door have got 5 Aylesbury Ducks? Lovely looking birds an d so funny as they all stay in a bunch when out and about. They don’t seem to go far from their pen. Took a pic just now so will send it.

Gosh Jane that leaky cap must have been a shock ging down your back like th at. I hope you feel ok after the steriods. Fancy forgetting to take them but with the birthday I can quite see why.
Yes Mandy we did enjoy our F & C thank you. They are always nice from down the van inthe village and now he has a card reader whichis good if you can't get cash out. When are we going to see a pic of the new veg trugs?
Well it did'nt brighten up at all today and we had that fine misty rain all day. Oh worked in the garage sorting his tool out so he was out of the weather in there.
Vera I wash my hair over the bath and use the shower head thats on there. My bath sheet dos'nt really cover it anymore as when I put it on there is always some hanging out the bottom. It is very fine hair and dos'nt take long to dry it so not a problem really and I only do it every two weeks.
Hope Frank had a nice time away and a safe journey home if he comes home tomorrow.

CONGRATULATIONS to your Grandaughter on achieving a first.Vera ,you must all be very proud of her .
Oh Jane that must have been a shock to have the freezing liquid down the back of your neck sounds bad enough having it on the head ,that was good they sorted the steroid problem out . I hope you don''t feel so bad with any after-effects ,will it make a difference with them having to give you the higher does of steroids
It does feel strange with no hair in my neck and coming down over my face now but so nice to see my ears again :-D I saw her coming up the path so i opened the gate and door so she could just walk straight in ,she sanitized her hands and had mask and face shied on ,she cut Colin's first and then washed her hands and sanitized again before cutting mine ,i had washed Colins hair before she came so it was still wet and i washed mine too so she didn't have that job to do . When she went i opened the door and gate so she didn't need touch them, booked the next cut for seven weeks time .
Lovely to see little Robbie feeding Mel but he mustn't bite the hand that feeds him naughty boy :-D hope you enjoyed your F&C
It's been raining here for most of the day ,we did see the sun for a few minutes and the ground dried out but the rain was soon back.
I think Frank said he's home tomorrow ,i hope he's been ok this time with no mishaps .

Thank you all for your congratulations for granddaughter. She deserves her First as she worked very hard. I don’t know if you remember that last year she worked in June and July with a Theatre in Education group going round Norfolk schools. Norfolk commissioned the same again this year and extended the contract to include another Shakespeare play to go to secondary schools. Of course lockdown and school closures put an end to that but the group are putting stuff online and have asked her to join them again, so she is currently learning 10 Shakespeare monologues.
I’m pleased to see you back home after another session Jane. It sounds as though it’s been a bit of a kerfuffle today with the extra steroids and the leaky cap. I hope the after-effects aren’t too bad this time round. Did you enjoy your dinner?
I knew your hair was long Mel but down to your knees!!! Isn’t it a pain washing it and getting it dry? Still, think of all the money you have saved in hairdressing costs. If you had it cut a bit, say to waist length, you would still have plenty of hair but it would probably improve the condition a lot. Btw, that’s a tame little Robbie in your photos. He’ll probably be your friend for life now.
Did you enjoy your mixed media lesson Ann? We’ll all expect to see pictures of the lovely things you’ve made. That sounds some brawl in your nearby village. When we were younger there was fighting but they were mostly fist fights. Now they seem to carry such dreadful weapons around with them. You do have to wonder how they have been brought up.
I like your thinking regarding dust Island. You’re a woman after my own heart. Was it Quentin Crisp who said you don’t need to do any housework at all. After the first 4 years the dirt doesn’t get any worse?
I intended to make a Chicken Chasseur tonight but just couldn’t be bothered so OH is doing eggs, beans and chips. He’s just shouted out that he’s cooking the eggs so I’d better go and eat.

We have quite large windows too FG and patio doors. I just wish I could reach the top window thats in the loft as I don't think that has ever been cleaned since it was put in.
Oh came in so all cleaning stopped. We had a cuppa and a little cake as I shall be going to get the F & C's in a mo. They are there in the village till 7pm and if I go late there's no one else there.
When I fed Robby this afternoon I have about 6 worms on my hand and he came and stayed on my hand and ate the lot and still stood there loking to see if any more were about to appear and then he pecked my little finger twice and it was'nt gentle!! I must get oh to take a pic as its hard holding the camera and your hand out at the same time which is what I did with the other pics I sent and he's not too keen on the camera.

Just to say congratulations to your granddaughter Vera! What a brilliant result. My dgd is in her second year, well she was! goodness knows when she will be able to resume studying normally! She hopes to go into teaching eventually, but who knows!! My rather thick hair certainly needs cutting!! I'm still slightly hesitant so may leave it a week or two, if we're not back in lockdown by then! I used to have long hair years ago, dh was quite put out when I had it cut, but he isn't bothered now!! Good luck with your treatment Jane, I do hope all goes well for you. I've got one of those karchers for window cleaning. We have large windows and having one of these has made so much difference. Spaghetti for us tonight! nice and easy!

Back home again now. I forgot to take my steroids yesterday which is so bad so that meant I had to have a larger dose via IV before the chemo. Then the pipe from the cold cap leaked the freezing liquid down the back of my neck so that had to be started again with a new cap.Anyway at least today is done and dusted until 3 weeks time. I think this next week or so will tell if my hair will start coming out.
Mel I can’t believe your hair is down to your knees!!!!!!! You should give it a good chop and it will probably strengthen up a bit and also maybe thicken up too.
Enjoy your Runners Island.I am very jealous as runners are my favourite veg and I would have them everyday if I could.Have you tried them cooked and then cold with tinned chopped tomatoes and Garlic.Yummy
Ann that sounded real nasty trouble in that village near you.Knives machetes etc!!! They are like wild animals.Good job there were lots of arrests.
I am going to try one of those Yorkshire Pudding dinners in a minute The chicken one with cubed potatoes chipolatas and tiny stuffing balls.I meant to have it the other day but didn’t have the appitite.I don’t think I shall manage it all by any means but will give it a good go

Yes Anng maybe as it is now down to my knees.
Hasve just washed all the back windows outside in the drizzle but I must say they look better than before 9 windows. I now feel as though I have achieved something today. Also washed the two wind miops thing, one off the Karcher and the one I just used on the long pole.

Island, I don't dust as often as some, my thoughts are it will all be abck tomorrow, but it does give me something to do for a few minutes like when killing time this morning knowing we had to go out. No I never enter the countryfile calendar comp. They have so many entries and you have to be lucky to get a subject other than your own garden.
Annx your turn will come. Yesterday, out of boredom and not being able to buy anything for so long I bought two painting magazines in Hobbycraft. I think there is something about mixed media art in one of them, will have to look.
I have now got all the bits I need to start but really need to create a space to work in as where I make my cards is a bit cramped. I have been studying my storage space too and think I need to clear a drawer out to take all the painting stuff. I will get around to it I promise.
Mel, my hair is too thick to grow long, I did grow it in my 20s/30s but it got too wiry and thick and I couldn't keep it tidy so it has been short ever since. From the age of about 8 to 12 I had long thick plaits.

Morning All,
Very well done to your granddaughter on getting a first Vera, didn't she do well! :-D I bet she will have a smile on her face all day.
You lucky ladies getting your hair cut today. I think that would make me feel much more normal if my hair looked less like Mick Jagger's!
I hope the cold cap is comfy Jane and fingers crossed it will work well for you <3 Do you see the same people with appointments at the same time or are you the only one since covid made it's appearance here?
I have one of the free online lessons on Mixed Media Art in a few minutes so as I know nothing about it really it should be interesting to see what we do.
Rain or drizzle here so not nice!
The police had to arrest 9 men in a village brawl just 2-3 miles from here. There's rarely anything happens there, but they were using knives, baseball bats and machetes apparently. What is it with them that they need to go drinking and starting trouble. As if all the emergency services haven't had enough to do. Maybe my dad's generation thinking that conscription should continue wasn't a bad idea. That or make them go and help the farmers get the crops in!

All these hair cuts I bet you do all feel better if you're used to short hair. I do oh's and never do mine just tie it up in a ponytail and wind it around and put a big clip thing in it. Out of sight and out of the way and no hairdresser bills. Since oh bought that cordless electric trimmer we have only cut it once and I said the other day did he want me to do it again and he said no!! not yet. So thats another job I don't have to do.
Island I like your thinking about dust and know just what you mean but I really must do my desk as the pc box is black and needs a wet wipe.
I have washed the mop on the Karcher window cleaner and am going to do windows today so I can see out of them. The bedroom ones are awful as we get a lot of pollen and dust off the trees out the back.
Nearly time to get lunch so I better go and do something.

Jane, glad you had a good day yesterday but fancy forgetting to take photos, just too excited I suppose. did you have some nice presents?
tust had our hair cut. Feels so light now but feels so much better. Very impressed with the way everything is set up. I waited in the car while OH went first, then when he came out Tracey disinfected everything and she then came out and called me in (the car was luckily parked right outside the shop). When she had finished I stayed in the chair and she brought the book to me for the next appointment then the card reader to pay. Not really pleasant wearing a mask as it is hot especially when the drier is going but it was fine once I got used to it. Price gone up a bit but not much and we have saved a few pounds not going! (about £60 I reckon. OH looked quite strange with his hair short as well but he said it felt better.

Morning everyone on this rather wet and dismal day. There is one very wet Thomas just turned up.I dried him off with a load of kitchen paper :-D CONGRATULATIONS to your Grandaughter on achieving a first. What a wonderful achievement :-D :-D :-D <3 I had another lovely day on Monday with all the family but forgot to take any pics.I am quite cross with myself.
Island I haven’t been in touch with Rach for a couple of years or so now.We did see eachother a couple of times .She is no longer on GR. I hope she is well.
I think Frank is usually the first to pick Runner Beans. We will be way behind him.
Now I have to get myself sorted and ready to go to the hospital for the chemo and cold cap :-| I need to be there for 1 pm so must have something to eat before I leave.Cheese and biscuits I think and maybe a bit of cherry and sultana cake.I will be to late for a hospital sandwich as they usually come round at midday.

Good morning AnnG, Mandy and all
It’s a soggy day here as well. It started raining just after I finished my garden jobs yesterday and was raining on and off all night.
Enjoy your haircuts. You’ll feel like new women after them :-)
A Tesco’s van has just stopped outside for my neighbour. She had Sainsbury’s less than a week ago and Iceland a couple of days before that and she pops to the shops from time to time as well. How much food can two people get through?
I am feeling on top of the world at the moment as granddaughter has just heard about her degree and she has been awarded a First. We’re very proud of her.
Must go and get on with a bit of h/w.
