Yes I have Mel but I've also tried other shapes too .
Just had quite a heavy shower and the sky is still black as your hat . Going to make a little colslaw now as we both fancied a ham salad for tonight with new potatoes.
I wonder if son will come home with more fruit ,when we called in yesterday there was three big bunches of bananas he had brought home so DIL was making Banana custard for the children to use some up.

What a lovely gesture Mandy. Some people are so appreciative (sp) and show it in lovely ways. The children will love those. Are you still making masks from the dinner plate pattern?

Afternoon all,
Not a bad day here today ,little bit of sun at times and a good breeze so I got washing dry this morning , I've cleaned the upstairs bathroom ,dusted and hoovered the bedrooms cleaned all the upstairs windows inside and hoovered the stairs ,made soup for lunch and now having a rest .
Mel that garland looks really pretty and as you say a good way to use up any odd bits of wool. I'm still making masks, two elderly ladies from the flats next door wanted one each then one of tthe ladies asked if she could have one for her sister and then a day later asked if her other sister could have one ,Colin was out the front painting the fence when she came past and gave him a tub of Celebrations chocolates for the grandchildren as I wouldn't take any money for the masks ,how nice was that .
AnnG i hope all goes OK for you when you have your stitches out this afternoon ,how many stitches do you have ?
I need a nice cuppa now my throat is dry it must be from all the dusting I've done this morning :-D

I am not sure I will Mel, I have a feeling getting the stitches out is going to make it sore and since it was done I have hardly felt it. In facy I really forget it is there unless I put my hand there accidentally.
The Tesco shop was ten minutes early I was just about ready for him. Last week it was 40 minutes after the start time. Anyway all wiped and put away. One substitution which was the weekely newspaper, they subbed it with the D Express. Never mind, something to read. And one unavailable which was ground coffee so a bit of an aggravation as I am nearly out.
I have just emptied three hanging baskets and three tubs of petunias which had all gone over. OH was having a lie down so I thought I would do it while he was out of the way. Also pulled up some dead Rudbeckia. I am hoping I am not going to pay for all the activity this morning.
Better go and get some lunch.

Good morning all. Sunny here too this morning Vera.
My day is sort of planned out for me with gaps" Teco delivery 11-12. Surgery 3.30.
I did manage to dust upstairs yesterday, can't think why the room OH is sleeping in is getting so dusty, must be all the times he throws covers on and off. Anyway I did it when he was downstairs yesterday. today I might dust downstair in the gaps. (or I might not of course.)
I hope the flowers didn't get knocked off your beans Mel. Ours are still producing beans they are also in a large tub shoved away by the compost bins.
Annx I have lost track, was it photography class yesterday or is it today?
Frank hope the chat with doc goes ok and they sort your meds out for you.
Gill how are things progressing for Sandra. are you teaching her home skills like washing etc?
Mandy that crochet ring sounds right up your street.
Jane sending you ((((((hugs)))))) <3 <3

Good morning all
Sunny here this morning with blue skies. It’s been a while since I was able to say that. I hope it lasts.
I haven’t got any plans for today. I want my new pots to go by the front door so would like to get them in place and filled with compost but my foot is very sore after yesterday’s walking round the garden centre so it might have to be left for today. We don’t have a front garden, just a sort of paved area so I like something by the front door.. i’ll probably just fill them with wallflowers for now. I’ve got a couple of fuchsias that can go in them later in the year.
I hope everyone’s bad backs are feeling more comfortable today. Good luck AnnG with the removal of the stitches and Frank with the chat with the doctor. Love to Jane <3
Have a good day everyone

So was that a good idea of mine for the braces? Oh has some but dos'nt wear them often.
Good price for a cauli Mandy they are so expensive from the local shop but I have found asda's veg is not so good for some things. I used to like to choose my veg but with asda youhave to have what you are given. Their lettuces are so small but today I had their spring greens and they were really good. The chickens always have the outer leaves but today they only got two but I have another three cabbages in the bag. I shall probably cut them up and freeze them.
Vera those pots were a good buy and I am sure your friend will love the plant popped into the terracotta pot. I too had one of those small flowered chrysanths (Garden Mums) for a birthday present a few years ago and it was very welcome. When I had the nursery we used to grow those and they always sold well in the market.
Mandy my bit tub of beans was blown over last night. Oh had to stand it back up for me this morning. Its still flowering and I had a good picking the other day. I meant to say there was a lovely crocheted autumn wreath on pinterest and it said there was a free pattern for the leaves. I bookmarked the page and I am sure you woud be able to make it easily and it was very effective. Put in crochet autumn garland pinterest and you will see it. It would use up lots of scrap wool.
Hope Gill is ok and getting sorted with Sandra.

Vera it is difficult when you take tablets to keep on top of things that can’t be taken together. I was on Amlodopine and bendrothumathiazide (so) for at least ten years taking Nurofen for headaches before I found out I shouldn't take them together. Never had any ill effects from them either and nothing works as well for me.
Good value your pots. We have stopped buying large pots as they are too heavy for us to move. Glad you enjoyed your trip out though. The only places I seem to go are medical locations and supermarket.
Mandy that was a better price for a cauli. Yes the braces work
So today we took delivery of a pressure cushion, sleep socks and hot water bottle. All seem to have seemed to be very acceptable. Actually he did have a better day today.

Evening all,
Shopping day for us so i've been wiping down ,we have finally got got our new light ,i went into Screw fix ,nice and quiet in there plenty of sanitiser and ladies to help behind screens ,the first one we ordered on line and when i picked it up there there was no wire with it so i changed it for one that has wire ,while i was in there there was this loud noise and the young lady said ohhh look round i turned and couldn't see across the car park for rain ,it was like looking through a fog but didn't last long so i didn't get wet .
Nice to see you back safe and sound Frank ,thank goodness the car got you there and you managed to get it sorted . I hope the doctors call can sort out your tablets for you so you can feel more yourself . Any news on your mobility scooter ?
Mel hope your back is feeling a little better now ,my back was a bit twingy yesterday ,i had lifted the garden chairs into the garden box where we store them for the winter and they are quite heavy chairs to lift about ,i thought i would have felt it this morning but after a good nights sleep it's been ok.
Oh AnnG we can't have T loosing his trousers :-) not good when he can't bend because of his bad back ,i hope the braces help .
Ann i thought the cauli was expensive ,i got a lovely big one from Aldi today for 69p , yes we've done so well this year with the runners ,i had some in the garden and a few in a big pot and they have been good too ,i picked some of the dried pods yesterday for seed next year .
Vera you did well to get the terracotta pots for half price ,when i see all the pots that Monty has on gardeners world i think he must have spent a fortune on them he has so many .
Love to Jane <3 <3

The weather hasn’t been up to much again today; on and off rain, a bit breezy and an occasional glimpse of a blue sky.
I’m pleased you got home safely Frank but what a to do you had with the car. I hope your problems are due to your tablets as that might be fairly easy to put right. Like AnnG I always read the leaflet with the tablets. Some years ago I bought some Kalms at a chemist’s shop and asked the pharmacist if they were OK to take with my medication. He assured me they were fine. Luckily I read the leaflet when I got home and it said they shouldn’t be taken with various tablets, one of which was mine. I took them back and told the pharmacist and he said that he had no idea why that was the case. I later asked the doctor and she told me that both tablets lowered blood pressure which could be dangerous for someone like me who doesn’t have high blood pressure. It’s a bit worrying really as we can only be guided by the “experts” but they don’t always get it right. Anyway, fingers crossed your doctor can sort you out tomorrow Frank.
Take care of that back Mel. You will have to let all the jobs go hang and just rest up for a few days.
You do keep busy with all the online courses you do Ann, you put me to shame and make me feel very lazy. I don’t seem to do anything very much.
I was beginning to feel a bit stir crazy and as I felt I could walk around OK we went out to a garden centre. I wanted to get some big new pots but I wanted terracotta rather than plastic and some of them are so expensive. We found some going half price and managed to find two the right size so bought those for £25 each and we also bought one of those chrysanthemums with masses of small blooms. That’s for a friend’s birthday next week. We also got a smaller terracotta pot and will pot it up in that for her so it looks more of a gift. I even treated myself to a new tea cosy :-D. I enjoyed the trip out but my foot knows it’s been walking.
As you ladies say, everything revolves around food at the moment so I had better start cooking the next meal. It’s cottage pie tonight and I’ll cook up double the amount of mince and freeze half of it so it’s ready to turn into a meal another day.
I hope you all sleep well tonight.

I had to laugh at poor T losing weight so his trousers fall down Anng. You'll have to get him some braces as they could help with an embarrasing incident.
Oh and I were talking about those little canvas huts the GPO used to put up to work under. Do you remember them? They always reminded me of the top of a small covered wagon. Also when the GPO had dark green vans same colour as the boxes in the street are now they fiddle around with.

I don't know why but I do feel that doctors should check what medication people are already on and check it against any new. They have a book with it in (or used to have) I suppose we should ask the pharmacist to check when we collect new medication as well. But I also wonder if it will tell you that Frank if you read the enclosed leaflet. I always read leaflets inside with pills just in case. However it may be that it doesn't say on your Fran. Glad you had a good brek anyway and are home safely.
OH didn't sleep badly but woke up with a really bad back, I said it was probably from the Physio. We now have a hot water bottle as the heat pad wasn't holding the heat long enough. Physio suggested heat three or four times a day. and also gave him a really gentle exercise to do. What is making us laugh at the moment (could be embarrassing) because he has lost a lot of weight his trousers fall down.
My scar is not itching Annx and actually unless I accidentally touch it I forget it is there. face is still a bit swollen though and bruised.
I have managed to arrange my annual blood test for when I have the stitches out. Well that is if there is time. (they said).
