Annx I usually send about 80 cards and I think I have made pretty well all of them now so I just make a few when I want to to with no rush.
I enjoy making the ones for charity it gives me more scope for making cards.

Evening All,
I wrote a long post, forgot to post and then lost it......so boo hoo!
Sorry you are so down Vera and I hope your back soon feels a little better. Are you still laving Zoom meetings with the family? If not it may be worth starting them up as that way at least you can see them and the fast growing dog!
Gill sorry you have come down with another throat and I hope it soon goes. What are you doing getting all that washing done when you have a trainee parlour maid who needs practice! lol. :-D
What a shame about Treasure Mel. Do you think someone stole it? I expect the boys were sad.
I have had an email from Fitz. He is dreadfully sad about what has happened to Jane too and said what a good friend she had been to him, especially in latter years. He will be going to the funeral. He suggested that we meet up for a meal at some point in the future, even if to just celebrate still being alive!!
Mandy, I also had to draw lines from a point to get the house walls and roof angles right too so there was a lot of rubbing out of lines before painting. There is a bit of uncertainty about whether the course will be on tomorrow. We all got emails and partial refunds for the course yesterday with no explanation! :-0 The teacher is hoping to sort it out in time or we may not be able to log on.
Hope you managed a small helping Frank. Big meals are not advisable as they can trigger attacks, so smaller meals are better but have more of them. Yes, Vera and Mandy are right about the tapping technique as I was taught it on an anxiety management course I was sent on. It's something else to try for you.
Ann you have been busy doing all of those cards and delivering them to the lady. Roughly how many more will you need to be making before Christmas. I must start thinking about Christmas Cards. I am doing another course soon where we are making some so that should be interesting.

Gill :-D I can’t take credit for that I copied it from an on line newspaper.
Oh dear Vera your back problem seems to mirror my OH’s I really hope you get rid of yours.. I can’t hardly bear to watch him when it hurts it is so painful so I do sympathise. Do you think your depression could be linked to your back pain or is it separate. I do feel this disease and all that goes with it is causing anxiety in various forms with everyone. Personally I have times of feeling down and resentful of time wasted not being able to do what I would like to be doing. This is feelings about the virus not our problems with OH, although I admit they don’t help. And also the realisation that logically a year out of my life at this stage is a big thing. Who knows how many years are left?
Frank I hope you managed some of the meal today.
Mel oh poor rabbit how sad, was the hutch not secured properly? Scotch pancakes what are they like.
Gill I hope you feel better soon have either your oH or Sandra got a cold,?
Annx as I said in my email, the perspectives in your picture are very good and .i love the simplicity of the picture.
Mandy hope the car is ready. Shame it won’t be able to go far for a while though.

Well I never got any sleep this afternoon as I planned, my throat is worse so I'm dosing up and hoping I feel better soon. At least the washing is finally finished, it's taken me all day to do there was that much.
Thanks AnnG for letting me know about lockdown, you explained it really well, maybe you should take over Boris's job lol :-D
I'm trying to watch the F1 but have lost track of what's going on as I can't concentrate properly on it. Never mind OH will be watching it when he gets in from work so I'll watch it again with him. I'll keep watching it now at least I'll see the end and can watch the beginning again later for the bits I missed.

Sorry your feeling so down again Vera ,I wonder what started your back pain ,I hope it soon eases up and you can get out for a little walk again . I think son is hoping he can have the car on Wednesday ,I'm not sure if the garages will be locked down so hopefully he can collect it ,luckily it's a garage in the town so no travelling to far. Hope the gin comes out OK ,will the berries give it a nice pink color as I think I read they have a taste like strawberries.
Ann another lovely painting ,yours trees always look so good and I can see how the path/road goes away into the distance with the fencing doing the same .
Gill good to see you posting hope the sore throat soon gets better ,I wonder where you pick these colds up from as you don't go out .
Frank hope you managed to eat a little food ,could you ask for a child's portion so you don't have lots on the plate as that can put you off .
Mel are the scotch pancakes like the little American pancake mix ,I some times make the American ones and add a few sultanas and then eat them cold like little cakes. Poor old rabbit was it a fox thst had him do you think .
Well the sun came out this afternoon and it looked lovely out ,my goodness the wind has taken loads of leaves off the trees though.

O so lovely to kw that Vera is ok even if she has had a bad week. I do hope the back eases soon for you Vera. If your jelly sod'nt set you could try putting some lemon juice in it. You have to do that with strawberry jam and a few other too. I like ready your verbal diarrhoea as you put it cos you always have a nice lot to tell us.
Good too that Gill has popped in and I hope the cold goes quickly.
Em rang me a little while ago to say she had the things I asked her to get from Tesco. 2 jars of redcurrant jelly and my furters so I am ÂŁ5 lighter for three things. What is the world coming to? She also told me that something has had their rabbit. The cage top that opens so you can feed it was pushed in and the rabbit gone. They had had him a long while too. So now they have no pets at all. Poor od Fred went a litlle while ago and now Treasure.
Anng your friend will be pleased to get the cards you made so she can sell them for charity. You are a good girl to make them for her.
I was making scotch pancakes when Em arrived and I have made a whole lot so I think they may be for tea tonight as I have some nice clotted cream and strawberry or cherry jam to go with them.
Must go and take the corn out of the bantams before the mice eat it all.

Well, here I am, turning up again like the proverbial bad penny.
It has not been a good week. I’ve had a lot of severe back pain and I don’t think it can be due to my shoe from the fracture clinic. I spent 2 nights sitting up on the bed as I couldn’t lay down so hardly slept. Since then I have managed to lay down and sleep a bit, though I had a bad night again last night. The trouble is the dratted pain keeps moving. It started on the right hand side of the spine, then moved to the left, then I had two days when it felt as though every movement was cutting me in half round my waist, now it is back where it started on the right. I’ve used heat pads and wheat bags but they don’t seem to have helped much and I am trying to keep painkillers to a minimum. I suppose it will get better eventually and I don’t know why I am complaining after a week or so. AnnG’s poor OH has had problems for a long time.
More worrying for both myself and my OH is the fact that I have been so depressed. I have had several tearful spells which doesn’t help and it isn’t like me at all. I have the odd down day but usually take myself out and walk it off but I can’t do that at the moment. I think I am definitely missing the fresh air and exercise. I haven’t been able to spend time in the garden or go out for a walk for six weeks and I am going a bit stir crazy. Thankfully my foot is a lot better so I am hoping to manage at least a short walk soon.
My mood this week hasn’t been helped by realizing we were heady for lockdown again so it’s going to be even longer before we see the family, particularly the ones in Yorkshire, and daughter’s puppy will be a grown dog before we get to meet her. Enough of my miseries; you all have your own problems and don’t want to hear this moaning Minnie going on about hers.
Frank, I do hope the hospital can give you some help this week. You have been through the mill a bit recently. Keep doing the breathing exercises, they are sure to help. Someone (was it Mandy?) mentioned “tapping”. It was a very popular technique a few years back and was then called EFT which stood for Emotional Freedom Technique. An acupuncturist I was visiting to help my migraines introduced me to it as he felt it might help. I practised it regularly for a year or so. It didn’t help me but I can see that it could help in something like an anxiety attack. It might be worth you googling for information or even asking your nice lady doctor about it. I’ll warn you though that you do feel pretty silly tapping with your fingertips on various points of your body, but if it helps who cares how silly you feel.
Good to see you posting Gill. I hope you are not getting a cold. Stay warm, drink plenty and don’t work too hard.
Mel, if you are emailing fg at all would you be kind enough to send her my condolences on the loss of her aunt and my best wishes for her daughter. I hope things improve for them all soon. Btw I forgot to mention earlier that I took up your suggestion of making guava gin with some of my guava crop. We’re not gin drinkers but I had a bottle in the cupboard and daughter and granddaughter like trying the different gins so I am doing it for them. I am attempting to make guava jelly with the rest. If it’s not successful it will become a sauce to pour over vanilla ice cream.
Mandy, I am looking forward to seeing the gingerbread house. It sounds great. Your son’s new car sounds ideal for the family. Will he manage to pick it up before Thursday’s lockdown?
AnnG, you have been busy with all your cards and I am sure the lady who sells them for charity is grateful for your contribution. I think Tesco must run different systems in different parts of the country. Presumably you can see the dates up to 28th Nov. if you know there are none available till then. We can only see 3 weeks so today we can only see up to 21st, then tomorrow it will be up to 22nd etc. and you are quite right, suddenly all the slots that were available a day or so ago are filled both on home delivery and click and collect. I have a fortnightly delivery so I have one tomorrow and one on 16th but who knows what will happen after that.
You might remember that our neighbour was in hospital recently. OH drove his wife in 3 times, another friend took her a couple of times and she also got a taxi three times (at £60 a time!), then on Thursday afternoon he was allowed home. Midnight Thursday I saw blue lights and heard a lot of noise outside, peeped through the blinds and saw it was an ambulance outside their house again. I assumed that it was the husband having to go back but no….this time it was the wife, so she is now in hospital. They really are not having much luck at all.
Well, as you can see my broken foot and painful back haven’t stopped my verbal diarrhoea (sp?). I must go and finish making my guava jelly before this painkiller wears off and I can’t stand up by the cooker any more. I hope you all sleep well tonight.

Here you are Gill
Restrictions will start at midnight on Thursday morning and last until December 2.
People can only leave their homes for specific reasons, such as to do essential shopping, for outdoor exercise, and for work if they are unable to work from home.
Non-essential shops will be told to shut, although supermarkets do not need to close off aisles as has happened in Wales.
Restaurants and bars will be told to close unless they can operate a takeaway service.
Travel abroad is only permitted for 'essential' reasons such as work, people can still return to the UK from abroad.
Leisure centres, gyms, sporting venues, hairdressers and beauty parlours will have to close, although professional sport will continue.
Key businesses that cannot operate remotely - such as construction - should carry on as before with safety precautions.
Places of worship can stay open for private prayer. Funerals are limited to close family only.
The furlough scheme will be extended during the period of the lockdown, rather than ending tomorrow as originally planned.
Exercise is permitted with no limits on frequency, but organised sports - including outdoor activities such as golf - will not be permitted.
When the lockdown lapses the Tiers system will be reinstated, leaving questions about what metric will be used to decide whether areas can have restrictions eased.

Afternoon all
Rain, rain and more rain here, I've done loads of washing so now I'm trying to get it all dry on the rads, I really need to get my dryer fixed but with the lockdown I don't know who's working and who isn't.
I tried to watch Boris last night but got so confused I gave up, does anyone know what the new lockdown rules are for England now?
I've got a bit of a sore throat and feel generally unwell, I can't seem to stop sneezing so it looks like I'm getting a cold. I'm drinking plenty but don't seem to have much of an appetite, I force myself to eat something but it's not much. At least I'm trying..........very trying as my OH would say LOL ;-)
I notice you mentioning the blue moon Mel, I had a look but it looked white to me, it was very cloudy so I didn't see much of it, just glimpses through the clouds. Thanks for letting us know about Flappergirl's message I hope her daughter can get some answers when she goes to her appointment this month. Sorry to hear about her aunt passing away of Covid, the same thing happened to our elderly neighbour, the one who was 100 last year, it's so sad isn't it?
Sorry I haven't caught up with any of the other posts, I'm just so tired and think I might try and have a sleep this afternoon as I haven't been sleeping very well lately. Sandra is catching up with some programmes she watches that we don't record. She watches so many things they clash with the things we watch so she watches her programmes in her room.
I hope everyone is okay

Afternoon all,
Had a reasonable night, and after getting out to the loo at 7.00 am went back and dropped off till 9.20, Ros woke at the same time. If we can;t turn over for an extra hour or so, at our age when can you, :-D :-D :-D
Very wet and windy here first thing, now it's just the wind blowing everything around the patio, Ros went down to the greenhouse an hour ago, and hasn't reappeared yet. What she is up to I just don't know.
I personally think that these GROUPS who gather and don't give a TOSS for the rules, should all be heavelly FIND. Perhaps that will teach them to obey the LAW. It's those kind, that make it bad/danderous for the rest of us. :-( :-( :-(
After getting showered and shaved this morning, I got dressed and sat and read part of the Paper, not that theres much worth reading I then sat in the conservatory reading my book.
Ros has just come in. She has been pulling all the Runner beans up, and put in the Green Bin. ready for collection.
I have been lucky with the attacks this morning, as soon as I feel one coming on, I have a GULP of COLD WATER. Two bottles down so far.
Nice to see Vera is O.k. snd I trust all of my other dear friends are too.
I must ring Harvey to see if he has done anything about a NEW SHOWER and TRAY. The ones I picked out on EBAY, he said were "ALL RUBBISH". I hope he's not thinking of spending HUNDREDS of Pounds. like he does for his "RICH CLIENTS". If push comes to shove I will buy what I think is suitable, and get Ringo or Jonathan to fit it for me.
Another hour and we will be off for our Lunch. I must admit I have no appetite, so Hope i can at least eat a little. See you later. xxxx

Well at least Asda are looking after their regulars. Out of interest I looked at slots on Tesco. Well thankfully I have slots booked for the 7th, 14th and 22nd November but every single slot os booked up to the 28th now. . Yesterday the last slots were all vacant I suppose announcing a lockdown means even those who can actually get to the shop don't intend to. But nothing available after 28th November.
Managed to get all the cards I have made to my friend who sells them for charity, that was over 20 Christmas and about 30 birthday and other cards. OH drove but he drove my car which is not well sprung so found it painful over the bumps. He took to his bed when we got back and I did half an hour in the very damp garden and manged to almost fill the garden bin with stuff cut down so making a bit of progress there.

Morning Mandy and all,
Gosh Ann you were a night owl last might. I had a look at the post about 11pm and nothing since Anng's post at 18.48pm so turned the pc off which is early for me.
Well thats another month gone and about 43 days to Christmas which I think is going to be a lean one this year. Pinch and a punch and all that. White rabbits and anything else you lot want to add.
It grey sky here this morning but not a great deal of wind which makes a change and not even a glimps of the yellow stuff.
Had another funny dream. I was walking across the road which was covered in leaves and I saw a little dirty navy blue bag with a drawstring so I picked it up and then saw another a bit bigger so picked that up too. Then I thought I saw someone watching me and spotted another one even smaller so picked that up and popped it im my pocket and walked away. I opened the bigget bag and it had 4 big thick gold coins in it and they were very dusty. put it back in my pocket and opened the next one to find a variety of amethyst cut round beads in it. Was pleased cos thats my birthstones and I love glass beads. Then I was with my mum who was at an auction sitting at the front and I told her what I had found but I never got to open the third and final bag to see what was in that. Mum told me she was buying the next house that was up for auction and we were all dressed in old fashioned clothes and then I woke up.

Oh Mel this virus is spreading everywhere now isn't it. I agree about the children. I think it will take much longer to bring the infection rate down this time with the schools and Unis still open. All very well the children being in a bubble at school, but once they are out of the school gates what happens. The Charnwood area here was low till the Uni opened, now it is high. The Police had to break up a street gathering in Nottingham the other night. The street was absolutely crowded with young people. Not all are disobeying, but too many are! Leicestershire has had 500 new cases in the last 24 hours. I'm glad they have brought the lockdown in before bonfire night and Diwali as I think a lot would still be gathering for those events. The self test sounds good and quick though and will help people isolate quickly and it means contacts be would traced quicker as well. Like you, the lockdown won't really affect us as we stayed locked down apart from OH's footie and the hairdresser visits! My hairdresser has already advertised he is open all day tomorrow!! I am hoping we will be able to get sunday lunches delivered again, but they may just do them to collect this time. After OH's only experience of that with them went badly wrong he won't be doing that! Did you get the Asda email I mentioned?
Thanks for passing on Flapper Girl's email. I hope her daughter's appointments can go ahead and what a shame for her aunt to reach age 95 and then die from Covid.
That's a quick swap of car for your son Mandy, but nice and roomy enough for them all now Lewis is getting bigger. OH is still wanting to change his but said he will hang on a bit now it's MOT'd and serviced. He won't be going far now either!!
Well I finished my painting. Some of it isn't as good as I would have liked, but the main purpose was to use perspective and the vanishing point and use some of the techniques she showed us and I think I have done that. I still have to paint a shaded box tomorrow to also send off to the teacher as well and then it all starts again on Monday!! I will send pics tomorrow.
I hope we hear from Vera tomorrow and that she is ok.
Better get to bed now.....late for me!

Evening all,
It was dry here first thing but then down came the rain it's been quite windy too.
Just waiting to hear from Boris but it looks like we'll have lock down again :-(
We went with son this morning to look at another car for him ,his car had the MOT this week but needs a few things doing to it so he decided to find another and found a nice red 7 seater Vauhall Zafira ,hopefully he will be able to pick it up middle of the week .
I do hope Vera's ok she did say her back was bad earlier in the week.
Frank you do sound a little brighter ,i hope the half a tablet you have has helped you a little , keep up the breathing and using the paper bag . Have you tried the tapping technique where you tap and count ,i've heard that it has helped some people ,the idea that while you tap and count it takes your mind off the attack a little ,just give it a google .
