Your dog sounds very calm Island, not at all like our neighbour's dogs, they bark at anything. He keeps them in around bonfire night and a week or so after as there are still fireworks going off. I heard quite a few last night. You're going to be busy with your sewing by the sounds of it. I'm hoping one day to learnt to make some clothes for myself, with being small I can never find anything nice that fits. Hope you manage to spend a bit of time outside and it's not to cold, it's freezing here today so no outside jobs for me.

Morning all

Frosty here earlier - so I was told LOL

AnnG, you must be at your wits end, let's hope the hospital will discover what's going on with your husband. It's gone on for too long, whatever 'it' is. You must both be exhausted. I hope things improve soon.

Vera, have you ditched your chariot now? I hope you'll be skipping around soo.

Mel, doggie isn't frightened of fireworks. He bobbed off down the garden on firework night for a business meeting and a few went off but he wasn't fazed by them. I took him outside to watch the 'workies' when we first had him and held him tight, talking to him - bovvered? Nah. Thank goodness!

Has Frank reported in? I hope he's feeling calmer.

I shall catch up on some sewing today - I have a backlog of repairs and some pull on trousers for me to finish. I really need to spend some time outside though, just chilling and recharging.

Have a good day all

What a frightening night for you AnnG. Perhaps the hospital will keep him in for a day or two and get to the bottom of his problems. Keep your chin up. Sending you a ((((hug)))) <3

So sorry to hear that T has been taken to hospital Anng. I do hope they can find the trouble now and perhaps give him some relief from these terrible headaches and back problems. We are all here for you so pop in whenever you feel like it. Did they give you any idea how long they will keep him in? Did you have to tell them what meds he's on?

Morning all

Sunny here but very cold, thankfully I don't need to go out for anything.

Sorry to hear about your OH falling AnnG, I hope it's nothing serious and he's home with you soon. The poppy picture was a nice thought, but unfortunately I don't have a printer, thank you anyway.

Happy belated birthday wishes to Mandy's son and Mel's OH

No, she's not new to Facebook Ann, but it's nice to see her keeping in touch with everyone now we're in lockdown again. Our area is the worse out of the whole country and not being able to visit people is starting to get her down. She's on her phone all day talking to different people, so still has contact that way.

It sounds like you were busy yesterday Vera and managed to get quite a bit done. I hope your foot eases for you soon.

Good morning all. Had an awful night OH fell, or rather slithered to the floor twice once around midnight and once about 4.30. Both times had to get ambulance out as I couldn’t lift him. Second time they decided to take him in to hospital to be checked over, he had not hurt himself but they thought it best. Seems very strange without him here as we have not been separated for about 30 years.

Morning Vera , Mel, morning all,

We have sunshine ,just a slight frost first thing but do I put the washing out or will it be as damp when I get it in later that's the question.

Vera sounds as if your getting there with your foot but don't try to do to much to quickly you don't want any set backs .

Mel stay safe at the shop ,might be a bit quieter with people not going out as much .

Morning Vera and all,

Glad you have sunshine Vera as its a reall grey day here but at least its not raining YET. Oh was hopeing to get some grass cut over these few nice days but ground has been too wet and squishy.

Usual things today, drop off the eggs and get the paper and a few bits.

Good morning all

It’s another bright, chilly day here. I have no plans for today. One day seems to be the same as any other lately and I only know it’s the weekend because the paper is delivered later. My foot is a bit painful after the little walk and all the standing I did yesterday but I might try another very short walk later when it warms up a bit. Have a good day whatever you’re up to. Might bbl

Sending a little wave ~~~~~~~ to our “mate” Elizabeth :-)

Thanks Vera much appreciated. I just can't find them on my pc.

Mel, the fleece sounds really nice. I have one or two as they are cosy and not cumbersome. They dry quick if you wash them too which is a bonus in the winter. Your meal sounds just up my street and will you keep the biscuit/choc box once they have been eaten. It sounds good to store things in with having a drawer.

Fireworks are still going off here!

Thanks old mate and I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you are doing.

I am doing a lamb stew for tonight as he loves that. He asked me if I had put barley in it and I said yes and the dough boys are waiting to go in now. It has onions, leek, carrots, celery and the last of our runners in it one potato cut into 6 pieces and spring geens with it. Raspberry trifle for dessert and probably some of the chocolates his youngest sister sent him. It a wonderful box with a drawer and has choc and biscuits in it. Iv'e taken a photo. Its from Hotel Chocolate.

Vera I would say you have excelled yourself today. What a lot you got done between the pair of you. Good on you girl and I hope you wil sleep tonight.

When I get the audio books from the library I have to pay £2,75 each for them. Mum used to get them free as she was partially sighted with only seeing out of one eye.

Alexa or Echo can play a lot of nice relaxing music.

Another year can only be all good Vera. My OH never ever reads a book, gardening and computer magazines, the occasional paper but never a book whereas I always have at least one on the go.
You have been busy, I hope you have not overdone it Vera.
I had a bad night last night so feel shattered now not having done a lot really. OH did half the lounge carpet with the cleaner but couldn’t manage the whole room his legs gave out so I finished it for him. I also did make a start on the dahlias but they were horribly wet and cold so gave up to be continued tomorrow.

SuffolkVera Report 6 Nov 2020 17:22

I like the sound of that fleece Mel. Are you cooking anything special for him tonight?

Yes, you do need something to distract you if you are in pain. I always try and lose myself in a book but I know that your OH can’t do that at the moment AnnG, but does he read much normally? If so, would he listen to audio books? If you belong to a library there are various library apps available for free where you can download books and audio books. I use Libby. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get a quick response to your note to the doctor.

Writing up some of your family history sounds a good idea Ann. I love reading other people’s stories. When the first lockdown started I decided that I would, at last, write up the tale of our trip to Russia in 2017. Have I done it? Er, no.... If I don’t do it soon I will have forgotten all about it.

At the moment I am lying on the bed again resting my foot and back which are both sore at the moment but I am feeling very pleased with myself. I have managed to get myself motivated to do a few things. I didn’t have a very good night again and got up feeling grumpy and sorry for myself so I gave myself a talking to and got started. While OH was clearing up all the leaves round the front and back.with his new blower/vac ( a boy with a toy!), I dusted and vacuumed round downstairs. I couldn’t manage the big vac but the cordless one was fine, though I had to sit down for a while after that. Then OH came with me and I managed a short walk to an acquaintance’s house to deliver a card for his 80th birthday. We were only out 15 minutes or so but it was great. It’s the first time in 6 weeks I’ve had a little walk and seen the outside world and, what’s more, the sun was shining :-D. After another little rest and a bit of lunch we lifted a few plants on to a surface that was comfortable for me. I had 5 lovely coloured leaf geraniums that I didn’t want to lose. OH had lifted them and dumped them in separate pots of compost just as they were, so I took out all the dead bits, cut them back and generally tidied them up. They are now in the greenhouse and I took some cuttings which are in the conservatory. While I was doing that OH planted up 6 pots of tulips for me. So it’s been a good productive day even if I am suffering for it a bit now.

The blue “RENEW” sign has been at the top of the page for a few days so I am going to renew my sub now. Sorry, you are stuck with me for another year.

Annx I will mention the radio to him, he listens to music and sometimes has Alexa playing music from the one by his bed. I think he has dimmed his desk top as far down as it will go, not sure about his laptop. The Ipad he has trouble with because of the size of the print. I did say to enlarge it!! A loy of the problem is he can't cencentrate because of the back pain.

About 10 years ago I wrote my family history story. I did put it on this board a chapter at a time, it went down quite well. I never had it published though. I also wrote a fiction story based on my life story (my younger days), never had that published either.

Mel the jacket sounds nice.

Oh said he had it in his hands for about four minuets before I whisked it away and hung it up in his wardrobe. He did try it on and its a perfect fit.

He thanks you all for your birthday wishes.

Ann I bought him a fleece jacket in two tone blue nice and warm for the winter and not for painting or mowing the grass in or fiddleing with the digger and mowers.
