Morning all,
We have a bright morning with sunshine today after a windy night with rain. I think the rain is coming back later in the day and we are in for a nasty weekend.

Frank when I moved down here our neighbours hubby was colour blind and he liked to paint. He did the most beautiful line drawings and was'nt satisfied with those so he had a go at painting. It was a disaster. One I saw was a bearded iris that had blue leaves, very bright and a green flower. I wondered if John saw the colours in the real world like that. Whether the grass was really geen to him or the red roses red or what. We told him to stick to his line drawing as they were marvelous. He did a pic of the village hall and all the stone work was spot on and all the tiles on the roof. Such detail.
Frank I have now had a misty eye for about 6 to 8 weeks. Sometimes it seems clearer and other times its bad.
Its been raining here a big and the winds blowing well too. The birds are eating like there's no tomorrow so I think its going to be bad here again weatherwise.
Missed you yesterday Vera and glad you've popped in today. I love yur long posts.

Wrote a post and the internet went down. Vera, I think he is pleased but also spends a lot of time wishing he was still in hospital where he didn't have to think and make decisions as somebody else knew what they are doing. Here it is the blind leading the blind. The problem with his back and head is that they are the main source of his pain. A nice young district nurse came lunch time and showed me how to empty the bag and it was extremely easy, we just had not tried the particular tube exit. So that is OK it looks like we have ten days with the catheter and then district nurses will try removing it to see how he managed. Now that sounds good from one aspect but does mean he will be in and out of bed for the loo at night. At the moment of course he doesn't have to bother. His legs are still very unstable. I have noticed he has stayed upstairs today. He walked up the stairs but going down is another matter. And of course not walking around means that he is not strengthening his legs. It is really difficult to know how we have come to this. If he had always been poorly it would be understandable but he was always so fit, always doing jobs for the family and other people, playing golf, walking at least 3 miles right up to the end of July.
Oh well I suppose ther are lots worse off, better stop the self pity and get on and do something.

Afternoon all ou lovely people,
I went for my eye test this morning. She is not happy, that the film over my left eye has not been treated, by the hospital and the Cataracts in might eye.She has written a letter to my GP which we dropped off on the way home. She is asking them to refer me back to the eye dept. to get these treated, and then she will carry out another test.
Vera that does sound a large reduction in price. Could it be a discontinued line, that they want to clear?? JUST A THOUGHT.
When these face coverings were first round, Ros made over 250 which she gave out around the village, She got the pattern on on Web. Not going out a great deal, I must admit I hate wearing them. I felt as though I couldn't breath, when wearing one in Tesco this morning.
F & C man is around tonight, so we might settle for that for our meal tonight. Ros did buy some chicken breasts to do a stir fry, but we can have that tomorrow.
Those painting are very good.Ann, you have a talent that I envy. Tony our neighbour, does some wonderful work in water colour. One night over a pint at the Football club, Tony and another artist, knowing I am Colour Blind, thought it would br nice for me to try to copy a scene, and use paint the colour I thought is was, in the picture. As yet that has never happened.
I am going back into the Conservatory to my book. Ros is watching Dickinson's real deal, she will be asleep before it's finished. Her heads well down NOW.
Take care all, xxxx

Good afternoon all
It started grey and damp and miserable here today but it has brightened up a bit and OH came back from a walk saying it was quite mild out. I still haven’t walked outside since last Friday but might try to walk to the corner and back after lunch. I had a bad night so feel very heavy headed today but I think my back is a bit easier.
I had my first delivery from Sainsbury’s this morning, just a small one as I have Tesco coming on Monday. It was fine except I had originally ordered some milk. Yesterday I decided to alter the amount but must have accidentally deleted it so I didn’t get any milk. It’s not a panic as I had about a pint in the fridge still and a frozen pint which is now defrosting and I’ve got some long life milk and some dried. I am just annoyed with myself for being stupid. As there wasn’t much it didn’t take long to wipe down. I’ve got Tesco on Monday and again a fortnight later so should be OK for a while.
AnnG, I expect your OH is pleased to be home. You’ll manage the catheter bags fine between the two of you. It’s such a shame no-one has found the cause of his back and head pains but in a way it’s reassuring as they don’t seem to think it’s caused by anything major. Do you think the stress and worry about his back, not helped by lockdown, could be a factor in his headaches? it’s depressing for you too but rest and relax as much as you can.
Ann, I love your paintings. You are sooooo talented. The colours on the sunset (sunrise?) are glorious. Isn’t it funny how we all like different things? You said you weren’t keen on the mountain one but it is my favourite. In fact as soon as I saw it I thought of some of the work of Caspar David Friedrich. I can’t wait to see what you produce next.
You sounded a bit brighter in your last post Frank. Your anxiety attacks won’t disappear overnight but it really sounds as though you are moving in the right direction. I guess Ros must enjoy shopping. Of course at the moment there are only essential shops open anyway but I suppose it’s a way of getting out of the house. As long as she is very careful with sanitising and distancing she should be fine. Me, I hate shopping at the best of times so I’m quite glad of an excuse not to go. Lucky Simon with a long retirement to look forward to.
You are so kind to make all those masks, Mandy. Maybe a box for a voluntary charity donation would be a good idea. I am sure most people would pop a few coins in.
I hope you are both OK Gill and Island and I really hope fg’s daughter is making a good recovery now.
Talking of daughters, I had a lovely FaceTime call from mine yesterday. She had been working from home for a couple of days as she had a tummy upset and didn’t dare go into school till she was fully recovered. She looked pale and tired but was otherwise OK. Her reason for FaceTiming was so I could at least see the puppy online. She is gorgeous. She’s already quite a big dog and she’s very calm. Granddaughter has been doing a grand job with her, giving her plenty of exercise and starting on training. She comes and sits to order but hasn’t yet quite got the hang of Stay or Drop yet.
A couple of days ago I ordered a fleece for my son’s birthday present and it has arrived so I need to check it over before sending it on to him. I was a bit concerned as it was reduced by so much. It was originally £120 but reduced to about £36. It is from Regatta which are a very reputable company but it seemed such a big reduction that I am wondering if it’s one that failed their quality control.
OH has just bought in our lunch - pate and a bit of salad stuff for him and a banana sandwich for me so I shall go and eat now. Have a good day everyone.

Mel yes he had a night bag in hospital. Because he was dehydrated he is having to drink a lot of water. The leg bag is not very big, we managed to use the leg bag and drain it unto the night bag the first time - he did that himself, then at 7am we managed to get him to walk to the bathroom and emptied the leg bag directly into the loo. Going to contact the district nurses today to ask for advice. And will also get sorted with other things as he didn't get home until 6pm and was tired we didn't really have time to sort stuff out. He is also very depressed because his headaches are still really bad and so is his back. So sad and drags me down seeing him like this.

Ann I love the palm tree with the lights on it. A good idea. I love the sunset one and also the mountains. It looks good to me. I know you are used to putting a lot of detail in paintings but you son't with watercolour. I think they are all great.
Mandy you shoud put an honesty box out for charity and I think you would do very well.
I am giving my donation to the poppy appeal as we hav'nt had our usual man around with his box and tray of poppies. Oh bought me one online and gave a donation as the soldiers and thier families need that poppy money.
Anng did oh see the golf shot on the telly where the man scimmed the ball across some water and it went straight in the hole?

I bet you feel better now oh is home Anng. Seems strange they did'nt tell you about how to empty the large bag! Has'nt it got a tap on it?? The small day one may not hold all the nights water. Did he have the night bag in hospital ?

OHs catheter has a small leg bag for daytime and a large night bag which hangs on a sort of frame by the bed, when you change the leg bag for the night bag you drain it into the night bag did all that but there are no instructions for emptying the night bag so he will leave the leg bag on over night, we can drain it when .i go to bed then tomorrow we can phone the District nurse and ask advice.
Love the different Christmas card.. He still has headaches and back pain he didn’t ask what his BP was so don’t know if it was low or high. Constipation is better I think. It was therapy not physio. Therapy that sorts out walkers, he has two, and frames round toilets we will have two of those as well. I think his op will be in about five days or so.

Oh yes I spotted Dick and Angel were on so that will be good. Thanks for saying Mandy as I didn't realise Our Yorkshire Farm was on, might have to get that on catchup. You have been busy doing your masks and they are going like hot cakes. I wonder when you go out if you will see someone wearing one! :-) The wreaths sound good and I look forward to seeing a pic when you have embellished them with you ideas.
I have sent some pics, but I didn't like the one with mountains, so haven't finished it. I can't get used to putting so little detail in. lol.
Frank I would give the beans a wide berth! :-D I remember my first day of retirement when I was 54. I had a spring in my step as all the pressure and responsibilities had been lifted away. For the first time since I was 16, I could do as I liked most days and be outside when it was nice weather instead of being in an office looking out at it! Oh and to be snuggled under the duvet listening to the rain pelting down was bliss!
That's a shame about the fir cones Mel. We didn't seem to have many under the fir tree this year.

Evening all,
Nice to see OH is coming home AnnG you'll be glad to have him home ,perhaps he'll tell you a bit more about what's happening with him.
Mel I've been making more masks, I put nine out late morning and they went by the middle of the afternoon . I've also given the upstairs bathroom a good going over ,had a hover through and had another fiddle with the deco mesh, I've done two wreaths but I think I'll add some Christmas ribbon so I need to have a rummage through the Christmas boxes to find some ,I did wonder if I should add a few baubles too ,I'll see.
Oh before I forget there's a one off Our Yorkshire Farm on tonight for those thst like it and a new lot of Dick and Angel Escape to the Chateau on Sunday
Oh Frank what have you been eating to upset your tummy ,watch the beans they might set you off again. The hairdresser rang to sort out a new date to come , she should have been coming on tthe 2nd December but it will still be lock down so nobody can come into the house she's now coming , I think it's the seventh I wrote it on the calendar.
So the teacher goes a bit quickly then Ann ,now you have two lots of home work to do to finish off your work ,you'll have tell her to drop down a gear :-D that's what I say to DIL when we use to walk any where together ,my goodness she can walk so quickly I have a job to keep up with her.
Shopping day tomorrow so more wiping down ,getting fed up with it now but it has to be done.
It has been quite a nice day after a very foggy start ,the leaves are really coming off the trees now iI sat in the conservatory watching them coming down as the wind got up a bit . When I took Max he was rooting all through the leaves which is OK until he does his business and then I have a job to find it ,he's so funny as when he finishes he kicks up the leaves :-D

You've been busy today then. When are we going to see the things you have been working on please.?
I should really be starting my wreaths. I need to go and collect sme moss to bind the rings in. I did'nt cover the holly berries as it was so wet and the birds have eaten them all. I shall have to go and have a look up the road at Em's dads tree by the side of the road and see if there are any there. If not I have plenty of false ones. Really need to go and collect some more cones. They fall in June and we were in lockdown then so I did'nt go. I have some but they are a bit brittle now after about three years.

Dull sort of day here....again!
I was surprised you said about the District Nurse dealing with a catheter AnnG and assumed you meant removing the tube. When I had a hysterectomy they found I had a lot of endometriosis. With the surgeon trying to remove as much as he could it meant I had to be sent home with a catheter fitted for a week while things settled. Mine just had a bag that was strapped to the leg under my jeans and had a small plastic tap on it for emptying it which was simple to do. Night was more tricky as I worried about rolling on the bag and squashing it!! What I did at night was unstrap the bag from my leg and place it in a large bowl at the side of the bed and that was much better and worked fine.
How are his headaches now? High BP and dehydration would cause bad headaches as well as constipation. I thought I was drinking plenty when I had an infection and fever, but I ended up needing 2 bags of fluid in hospital, so it shows a rise in temperature means you need more fluid than you think. The physio would be to strengthen his muscles and so his balance too I would think. Oh I see he is on his way home which is good as you may get more info from him.
Me I have been doing more paintings Mel. The teacher paints so fast we have to try to keep up with her which is difficult so there's plenty left to finish and we had to do 2 this week!
I have watched about 4 videos from the craft show now and the wreath was lovely and made with the deco stuff Mandy is using.
