I don't think so Vera, he was moved there from the medical ward he was admitted to.9that should be, to which he was admitted). He just phoned (good job I was up) to have a couple of things added to the package Joanne is taking in for him later.

Missed you there AnnG. I’m glad you have heard from OH. Don’t feel guilty, he is there because he needs to be there. He may have been put in that particular ward because that’s where there was an available bed. Many years ago, at the age of 60, I was put in a 6 bed geriatric ward with 5 very old ladies because that was the only bed available at the time, but the right doctors came to the ward to see me and I got the right treatment. I am sure they will look after T.

Good morning
Another grey, very wet day. I think the rain is set in for the weekend now (sigh). I must admit I am getting fed up with being housebound with my foot and the weather. I’m not sure what on earth I am going to do with myself all day. I wish I were an arts or crafts person. Well, enough of my moaning.
I hope you hear some better news from OH today AnnG.
Thank you EOS for your weekend wishes. I hope the weather is better where you are and that you have a peaceful weekend.
Stay safe everyone

Good morning all Slept reasonably well again, only problem with having a good sleep is waking early, woke at 5.20 for the loo, back to bed and woke from dozing at 0630, read for a bit then got up and had a cup of tea. Not sure what time our friend will be here but she is taking a packet in to the hospital for T. (he needs his bottom plate. She works in the hearing department of the hospital in the week but will make a special journey for me today. T has helped her a lot with her computer problems. She is a member of our U3A photography group, lovely lady about daughter's age.
I am feeling guilty this morning that he is in there. I know how short staffed and busy they are and am sure the patients don't get much attention. With no visiting it must be so boring and I am sure he will be kept in bed, not active. Although one part of me feels guilty and misses him terribly, I know I cannot cope with lifting him if he falls and turning him when lying in bed. He suddenly found his back would not let him turn over.. He did ring with the ward details and looking it up he is in Old people's medicine ward. That sort of tells me that they are nursing him rather than trying to fix his back and head but I hope I am wrong. He seemed happy enough when he phoned but I think will feel better when he gets his teeth!!

Well the seeds are edible and thye could have been blown there or a mouse could have stored them for the winter or a squirrel as you said you have the walnut shells back too. Not sure if they were eaten by birds whether they would grow but you never know......
Yes please if you could forward it to me too I'd love to see it and read it.

I have forwarded the email and attachment from Hannah Mandy. Yes I said to OH that it seemed daft them giving him a trainee with them having his history in the notes they have on him. Still I suppose you never know if they have staff off sick or having to isolate.
No not on FB Mel, the photos were in the Order of Service. Do you want me to forward it to you? I know OH has things he can't get into as well, just like your OH's jeans! It's good to have a sort out and make some space. Our tomatoes finished a while a go, but when I went in the greenhouse the other day there were some baby ones growing in the pots which I haven't emptied. Here is a question for you! I grew Nasturtiums this year as you know and some had dropped quite a few seeds by the time I emptied them out of the pots. (I have saved some for next year). Well, out of the crevices in the side fence between the concrete posts and the concrete gravel boards between them (the gravel boards are 3 high) there are 4-5 little Nasturtium plants growing in different places? How they are surviving on concrete and rain I don't know, but how did they get there? Do Squirrels eat them and have hidden them like they do with nuts do you think?
Best wishes to Elizabeth.

Annx yes the eulogy was lovely and the photos on the order of service. I really liked the verse read at the end as well. Nuisance for your OH to have to go back blessed virus causing so many problems. Mel no more news he has not phoned, I am guessing he has fallen asleep. I need to know the name of his ward so if he does not ring tonight I shall have to bring the hospital tomorrow.

Ann could you send me a copy of eulogy Hannah read for her mum please ,she did say could send it with the order of service but i didn't like to impose as they would have had enough to sort out .
That was a long wait you had in the car Ann i bet you wondered what was happening ,i expect seeing a trainee optician took a lot longer than normal and he ran out of time so that's why he has to go back again ,maybe if he had seen one who knew what they were doing it would have been quicker and he wouldn't now be having to go back again .
Frank that sounded a really nasty fall poor Martine had ,i was surprised they didn't want to keep her over night at least to keep an eye on her ,hope sh's ok now . Hope Ros is feeling better sounds as if you've both had a bug of some sort .
Any news on OH AnnG .
You've been busy Mel ,i did a big pile of ironing too when we came back from boots , i hung washing out but it wasn't that dry when i brought it in even though the sun came out for a while .
I've finished the girls head bands and i have enough wool to knit them some gloves to match though i don't know when they'll have them ,not till lock down is over i expect .
Vera hope you remembered the milk if your like me you go in and get side tracked buying other bits and come out without the very thing you really wanted .

I hope you have more news later today about T AnnG, but it is good you have heard from him. You are lucky to be still picking runners......wish I was as they are a favourite.
OH's eye test took one and a half hours!! I sat in the car to wait for him, but they said not to bring anyone anyway. He has to go back for an in depth look and stronger eye drops next week, so could have driven himself if he'd known. Their excuse for not doing it this time was that the optician was a trainee and they didn't want him there any longer because of covid risk! What a load of old tosh, as how can doing everything this time be more risk than having to go twice with all the hanging around and sitting again. His sight was ok but he always has to have the closer inspection because of his retinas and all the laser treatment he had a few years ago.
We have had an email from the council to say they are suspending garden bin collection for a few weeks due to covid in the collection staff. They have asked everyone to wipe the lids and handles of all of their bins BEFORE as well as after collection. We've always done them after for our own protection, but will have to do them before as well now.
That was a nasty fall Martine had Frank, so I hope she will be ok. Blooming stairs.....they are lethal.
I have been invited to a Hospital Zoom meeting about vaccination research and someone talking about their experience so have booked up for that one as there is a Q & A session too which could be interesting.
A lovely sunny start to the day this morning while I was stuck in the car, but it soon went dull and damp this afternoon. A little squirrel is fetching the Walnuts from somewhere again this year. We keep finding the outer casings on the patio.
M & S website is still driving me nuts! I can't remember my password, but they don't respond when I click to request it be reset. I tried registering again, but they tell me I'm already registered if I do that!! :-S OH is not going to be getting his new pants at this rate! :-S
I'm having no luck with the Christmas cards ordered from Amazon this week either! One arrived bent and this morning one that was too wide for the letterbox had been folded over and pushed through the letterbox, so that's another bent one.
I thought the eulogy Hannah read for her mum was lovely and how nice to see all those photos of Jane on the Order of Service.
Better go and do something as I'm turning into a moaning minnie. :-D

Glad you have heard from oh Anng even if it was only a quick call. Its good you had a better nights sleep too. I see you have been busy inthe garden again and picked more runners. I picked 5 toms this week and still have a few onthe plants ripening in my shed.
Poor Martine falling like that and getting stuck. Hope she is ok.
Its just rained that fine stuff here and I have two lots of washing onthe line so I hope it dos'nt blow under the roof as its the bedding and some of my clothes. Been busy changing the bed and putting ironing away and sorting oh's wardrobe. Have taken out about 6 pairs of jeans he can't get in anymore which had given me a lot more room for other things.
Had lunch and a couple more of oh's birthday chocs so there's only a few left now.
Ann hope the eye test went ok.

Well he has phoned but no news yet, nobody has been to see him. He was struggling a bit with pain as he can't move on his own with his back. I assume they are waiting for some consultant or other and of course are short staffed they have quite a large number of Covid patients in both hospitals now. He couldn't use his mobile to phone me but luckily has his Ipad which is connected to Alexa's phone so he came through on alexa, confused me I can tell you. so more waiting for one or other phone to ring.
Sorry to hear about Martine Frank that was nasty, I assume it was a small bleed, I can't think why they didn't keep her in under observation. Pleased to hear that Ros feels better hope it is not a bug as that is not really what Martine wants. I assume they keep social distancing though so should be OK as long as Ros doesn't go indoors. We are still on lockdown.
Vera, I only got a Christmas slot because I have no idea what the situation will be at Christmas. Still I will get in some treats that will do for both of us (if he is eating) Or me on my own if, as the paramedic said when talking about what he could do or not do he could be sent to one of the community hospitals instead of coming home. that would not surprise me at all. Not saying I would like it but his safety comes first.
This morning when I went downstairs the radio was on (it is set to switch on automatically, I said, as we usually do 'Alexa switch off the kitchen radio' nothing happened I said 'alexa wake up and' she replied 'it is OK I am here'. Can't be lonely with an alexa.
annx hope OH's eye test went ok.
I just spent half an hour in the garde, sun was shining and it was dry. raked up more apple tree leaves, cut back some more Buddleia and some of the overgrown rambler with the lopper. Can't do too much of that as it is long and heavy. And also picked another handful of runner beans. Next job is to get the bean plants out but the garden bin is full so will have to wait until Tuesday now. Going to be a wet weekend anyway. Gone very dark now.

Morning all
It was grey and wet when we got up at 7.30 this umorning and it is still grey and wet now but it is supposed to dry up a bit later on.
I’m glad you had some sleep last night AnnG. I had a better night as well. I hope you hear from OH soon with some positive news. That was a long wait to book your Christmas slot but at least you’ve got it now. I don’t pay the delivery saver charge so slots aren’t available to me till next Friday but I am not going to panic about getting one as I have been asking myself if I need a delivery Christmas week. All being well we will be at our daughter’s for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and if we are still in lockdown there will just be the two of us here and how much will we need for just us? I’ve got a few bits in advance in the cupboard or freezer so it will probably only be fresh veg and bread. I’ve also got the option of Sainsbury’s or Iceland if I can’t get Tesco.
I’m glad Ros is feeling a bit better, Frank, but sorry to hear your friend Martine has taken a tumble down the stairs. I hope she is OK.
I hope OH’s eye test goes well Ann. I had a letter telling me that my test is overdue and to book one online but every time I try I only get offered a test for the following day. I’d like one for mid December so I suppose I’ll have to phone them.
I’m just having a coffee and the window cleaners have arrived. Luckily it has just stopped raining. Around 12.30 when it’s not usually very busy OH is driving me to either the Co-op or Sainsbury’s to get the milk that I forgot to order with my delivery on Wednesday.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Girls,
Glad to see you slept well last night. I did also, Ros had an iffy night, back and forth to the toilet. She slept in a bit this morning, and says she feels a little better this morning.
We heard from Martine last night. SHE FELL DOWN THE STAIRES, and wedged her body in the stair lift, that Brian needs to get up the stairs. Brian called the Fire Brigade and the Ambulance.. They managed to get her out go it and take her to hospital for a check over. She had a BLEED on the brain. After checking her over, they brought her home and put her to bed.
Ros is on the phone to her now, to see if she needs any shopping etc. She will call round and see her when she goes to Tesco's later.
I see we had rain during the night, but this morning we have bright sunshine. So it looks lovely outside. I haven't ventured out yet so can't say if it's cold or not.
I see that SULCLIFF has died. One less to keep in prison. !!!!
No news this end, will try to catch later. xxxx
