Afternoon all or is it evening now?
Frank, what are we going to do with you? You can’t keep getting battered about like that. It’s so easy to trip on a mat. Do you think it would be better to get rid of them? If you want a bathmat to step on when you get out of the shower you could hang it somewhere and just put it down when you shower. I’m not sure they even strap ribs these days. OH cracked a rib a while ago and a neighbour had a fall a couple of months ago and damaged some ribs but neither were strapped. They are painful but do heal on their own. However, someone should look at you and decide if you need anything done. I’m really surprised your doctor’s surgery or 111 hasn’t been more helpful. I’ve had excellent service from 111. I hope the pain has eased a bit for you now. Take care. I’m sending you a very gentle (((hug))) <3
Have any of the hospital doctors talked to OH about his head and back yet AnnG? I hope they are at least keeping him comfortable.
Ann, you are always so busy with your courses that you put me to shame. I sometimes can’t even think what I have done with my day but I seldom seem to do anything very creative.or productive, yet I don't just blob about and I don’t watch much television. Perhaps I am just a slow old dodderer.
Yes, wipe downs do come round quickly. I had a big Tesco one yesterday and by the time I finished my back was “giving me what for”, as my Dad used to say. It’s been bad again all today. An hour ago I walked to the postbox and I must have looked a right sight as I was limping along dragging my bad foot with a hand behind me supporting my bad back. Poor old soul ;-). It’s only a bit down the road but I met two acquaintances who wanted to chat and standing is the worst thing for the back and the foot. They probably thought I was being rude but I had to excuse myself and get home. I’m now lying on the bed supported by pillows.
OH has had sore, bleeding gums on one side of his mouth for a little while now but didn’t even tell me until a couple of weeks ago when he asked if we had any sort of mouthwash. When I found out why he wanted it I sent him out to buy some Corsodyl but it hasn’t helped at all so this morning he rang the dentist and she is seeing him tomorrow morning to assess what the problem is. Although it’s expensive I am glad we go to a private dentist as friends tell me you have to wait months to get an NHS appointment round here and then you never see the same dentist twice.
I usually get Christmas cards from the pop-up Cards for Good Causes shop in town but that’s not on this year so I ordered cards and several stocking fillers online from them. I like to buy from them because I know the percentage of the profits going to the charities is always a minimum of 70% and normally a great deal more. So many of these “charity” card companies give very little to charity. My stuff all arrived today and I was really pleased as there was a slip of paper in the bag saying that 100% of the profits were going to the relevant charities.
I hope everyone has a good night’s sleep and wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed and Elizabeth, no throwing bricks at the telly. Control yourself, woman.
EDIT. I missed your post AnnG. I see OH may be home tomorrow. It does seem odd that nothing is being done about his back and head but in a way it’s reassuring in that they can’t be too concerned about it. Try and make sure he stays hydrated as that wIll help his balance and his head.

Annx I had no trouble ordering him pyjamas and pants it all went through ok.
It looks like OH may be home tomorrow, docs say he is medically fit to go although he still had to see the OT about stuff he needs in the house. Nothing has been done about his back and head except to give him paracetamols. I don’t really know how I feel about him coming home, be pleased to see him but still nervous about his balance. Daughter conveyed all this to the physio when she spoke to him in my place. Anyway will know more when he phones I expect that is if The phones behave. Both mobiles have played up.

Afternoon All,
A dullish day again today. I have been busy the last 2 days, 2 painting classes yesterday, the last of the Beginners Watercolour, then Snowy Landscapes in the afternoon. This morning it was Christmas Card ideas, then a Hospital zoom meeting group with a lady I know well who was talking about vaccination trials and her experience of taking part in a Bird Flu trial herself. That was at lunchtime . May as well make the most of all this time at home!
Frank I worry you will do yourself some serious damage with these mats. It was a mat you tripped over in the bedroom recently wasn't it. When OH cracked his ribs many years ago they said they just strap them up and let them heal on their own, but I don't suppose you know what exactly you have done without being seen.
Well fireworks are slowly petering out round here. It's been Diwali celebrations following Bonfire Night. I expect that was the reason for 3 carloads of people visiting the Asian house a few days ago. :-S Rules don't seem to matter to some.
I hope you do better than I have trying to order OH pants from M&S AnnG! I still get no response to asking for my password to be reset. I hope T has some news for you today on his back and headaches.
These wipe down sessions don't half come around quickly don't they Mel! Such a nice feeling when it is all done and put away though.
We walked up to the post box at the other end of the close to post a letter earlier and there is an Oak tree the field side and there were lots of acorn shells under it. I was hoping to collect a few to do something with but it looks like the Squirrels beat me to it!
Back to ordering some things online now!

O Frank not another fall and to do it in the loo too. I hope you hear from the doc soon and can get seen by someone. Its good Ros strapped yu up but it dos'nt sound like it has eased any of your pain. I think the best thing Ros can buy you for Christmas is a crash hat you can wear al the time.
Well I did the BIG wipe down and it was a big one this week. It took me till 1.16pm to get it all done and away. A few Christmas bits on it so not too bad I suppose.

Ah sorry, I am fine I had a few things to sort out and was waiting for a phone call from OH to do with those. Got more or less sorted now and a parcel packed up ready for somebody to take to the hospital. Trouble is all the dirty clothes are sitting in the hospital with nobody as yet to get them to me. So as we have run out of underwear I have just had to order some from M&S.
Also trying to sort out things for when he eventually comes home. We need two higher toilet seats and one stand of a different kind to the one they brought before. All very complicated. :-)
Frank you and my OH make a good pair, so far he has not broken anything when falling, hope he doesn't as well. Hope you can get the ribs properly strapped up. Was it a bath mat that you tripped over? Maybe leave it without a mat as you are prone to tripping.

Good morning all,
What a night I had, I went into the toilet before going to bed and tripped on the mat. I fell down and crashed down between the wall and the toilet.I hit my head on the wall, but worse than that I smacked my LEFT SIDE RIB CAGE, against the toilet. I was sure that nothing was broken, so got into bed. I hardly slept with the pain. This morning I rang the Dr at 8.00 am hoping to get an appointment to see a doctor. I was told a Dr would ring me later this morning. Still not heard rom them. After waiting an hour I rang 111for advice.. They was a complete waste of time. Eos has found two CREPE Bandages, and strapped me up. Slightly less pain, but I daren't take a deep breath as that hurts. I've got myself washed and dressed, in case I get a call from the Dr. to go up there, or for them to send me to A & E. to get bandaged up.
Will keep you posted, as and when I know whats going on.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE.

Went up the shop this afternoon to get my Saturday paper and pay the bill for the shopping. Not done anything since but the chickens and cook dinner. I did make an apple and blueberry crumble which was very nice.

Good afternoon to you dear friends,
Had another attack this morning, makes you feel drained. I'm pleased to report that Ros is a lot better today. She had a little bit of cereal for breakfast, and is sitting watching T.V.
I have just finished reading a Linda La Plant book.Very good, it's the sort of book you can pick up read a few chapters, and go back to it, and soon pick up the story.
All I have had this morning, is a coffee and mince pie. I have changed the water for the potato's and Veg. so hope theyweillbe O.K. for tonight. That is if Ros feels like eating, If not I will throw them all away.
I must remember to put the bins out. Tracy next door, has suddenly stopped putting them out for me.
Might pop back later. Take care. xxxx

Was'nt he supposed to go in this week for a little op? Has anything been said about that?

Yes I liked that painting as well and I think she is busy again learning something else today busy busy person, how does she have time to paint??
OH made a very quick call this morning just to say he had just been washed and brushed down and was now sitting in the chair instead of lying in bed (he is more comfortable with his back lying flat but they will get him up in the chair which is good. Nothing much else has happened. Nothing about his back and head. I think the main problem is dehydration which can cause all sorts of knock on effects especially of bladder and bowels. So presumably they will be concentrating on that. He did say he didn't think he would be coming home soon. so I had to tell him I was OK not to worry about me without making it sound as if I was not missing him (which I am of course). I told him to concentrate on getting better so that he could come home and he said 'OK but don't go doing too much'. See, still thinking about me.
I have just been tackling a couple of shelves in his office, which has a lot of joint filing type stuff in. When he is here it is hard to get in there to do things It looks a bit tidier now, he had so much stuff on the floor we couldn't manoeuvre the zimmer in there the day he fell into the chair tangled with his feet in the Zimmer. If he had not been so poorly it would have been quite funny.
Mel good you had a nice long sleep. I slept quite well except being on my own (even when he was sleeping in the spare room) in bed I am tending to wake up early. I was up at 0730 this morning.
I have cleaned the lounge and dining roo, topped up the bird feeders, put the bins out for tomorrows collection and cleared two of his office shelves. Think I am due a rest now. :-) :-)

Good morning AnnG, Elizabeth and all
Another grey, damp day. Roll on spring.
I am sorry you still have a hangover feeling Elizabeth. It must be very annoying to be hungover when you haven’t at least enjoyed the alcohol first. It sounds as though you are joining Insomniacs Anonymous. I think several of us are members of that group. I do most of my reading in the middle of the night. As for housework - what’s that?
Ann, I love the church picture as always. I am so in awe of your talent. Is it a church you know or was it from your imagination?
Have you heard anymore from OH yet AnnG? I keep thinking of you both. I know how stressed I was last year when my OH had so many pain and mobility problems but at least we had an early diagnosis. It must be so much worse when you don’t know the cause. Keep your pecker up. Things WILL get better.
I hope everyone else with aches, pains, dicky tums etc is feeling better today. Take care and stay safe.
