Island, not sure what you mean about a spammer? Do you mean on GR?
Vera, yes thanks son got here OK. He is now on the way to Bournemouth, He is leaving his current firm so as he had a flat in the Bournemouth area which he rented, he is going down to clear that out and say goodbye to people who worked for him there. Also meeting his new boss from January, who was his old boss until last May.
Was just feeling tearful after he left because he brought an extra present which is one he and daughter and a nurse have organised with T. What a lovely thing to do.

Morning AnnG, Mel and all
We never seem to have the same weather as you. It rained overnight but is bright and sunny and 9 degrees now.
Hope your son has a safe journey AnnG.
I’m just doing odd jobs this morning but OH wants to fill up with fuel later so we’ll also go to the garden centre and pet shop. I want garden vouchers as a Christmas present for step-grandson and his fiancée who are moving into a new build house this week and I need mealworms for the birds. I also need to pick up my meds from the chemist. Funny how these jobs used to be a chore and now they are an outing ;-)
OH is taking our friend to the eye clinic again tomorrow. The appointment is for 9 am so OH will have to leave here just after 7 but, all being well, this will be the last visit to the clinic for them.
Right, better get on. Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning Anng and all,
Really dark here this morning and very wet with it I can hardl;y see the keyboard and 7 degrees here today.
Opened the fridge to get a bottle of milk out of the door this morning and opened it and went to pour it in my mug and nothing came out!!!! Looked at it puzzled and it was frozen!!!! The one next to it was'nt or the one laying down on the shelf. Very strange the fridge was turned up to 6 though so it must have been me when I put something in it yesterday.
Hope your son has a safe journey to you Anng.

Good morning all, dark and wet outside and 8 degrees. Going to be a nasty day weather-wise. Son calling in with Christmas presents on his way from M Keynes to Bournemouth, quite a journey so hope he manages it OK. He does have a range rover so quite a substantial car and is a careful driver. Still a bit of a worry though. He needs to come thhough as he needs to sign LPA forms for me.

I wondered if that had happened Vera when I went and had a look to see how near the two headings were.
I just watched the full monty on ice. What brave people to do that for loved ones and family that have had cancer.

Mel, I pressed “Reply all” instead of just “Reply” so my email will have gone to Island with copies to everyone she sent her original one to. I expect Mandy did the same.

I didn't know there was a meteor shower the other night, although I did see a shooting star so maybe that was it. With not knowing I wasn't looking out for anything.
No there weren't any seats Ann when OH went for his vaccination and it didn't seem like there was an appointment system either as he told me the people behind him in the queue had their appointment 15 minutes before his. He was told when he goes for his second jab to go earlier than he did the other day. I wouldn't mind but he went over an hour before his appointment time so ended up in the queue for almost 2 hours in total. I've noticed the doctors are doing the vaccinations as well at the surgery so maybe it wouldn't be better for you to go there is you can, that way you can sit down as it'll be in doors. OH went to a big tent at the back of the hospital.
OH's been asleep most of today so didn't have time to ring the hospital again to ask after his mum, he said he'll ring tomorrow. His brother and sister aren't telling him anything, so he has to ring the hospital to find out what's happening as he's not allowed to visit his mum there.
Good idea to have a to do list for your morning's AnnG, it'll help keep you busy. Are you going anywhere for Christmas if your OH is still in hospital or will you be on your own.
I was wondering if Hannah and Gareth's baby arrived on the due date Mel, they rarely do though. I see you've been wiping down again today. I heard on the news the other day the shops are starting to stock pile as prices might go up after we leave the EU, I wonder if that'll make people panic buy again.
I hope the four wheeled seat thing works Frank, it'll give you peace of mind knowing you want have anymore falls.
I've spent all afternoon colouring Sandra's hair and giving it a trim, she's all ready for Christmas now.
Going to grab a drink and settle down to the best bits of the Bake Off it's on in a few minutes.

Wow Island that bunting is great and I like the tassels on the flaggy bits just makes it and gives it a little twist from normal bunting. Looks a bit Moroccan.

Hope you're all wiped down now Vera. I was glad to get mine out of the way this morning.
Anng have you heard anymore about oh?
I have been doing up presents this afternoon. Di arrived this morning on the way to get their scripts and brought me mine. I gave her her Birthday presents!! but had'nt done up her Christmas ones so Iv.e been doing those. Her birthday was 24th June mid summrs day. I had'nt seen her since March. Anyway it made me do her presents up and I gave her her Christmas card.
Hav'nt got anything out of the freezer for dinner so we are having toasted cheese and onion sandwiches. Ice cream to follow.
Bet Frank enjoyed his liver and onions. I hav'nt had liver for ages as oh hates it.

Afternoon all
It’s not a bad day today. There’s been a bit of sun on and off. I can’t believe it will be setting in less than half an hour. Not long now till the shortest day.
I had a very bad night and sat reading in the lounge from 1.30 am to 4 am, then dozed till OH brought me a CoT at 8. I managed to vac right through the house this morning and now I’m waiting for a Tesco delivery. It’s my last delivery before Christmas so I hope I’ve got all I need. We are still supposed to be going to daughter’s but I am making sure we’ve got Christmassy food in the house for us in case we have a change of plan.
I am glad my package arrived safely Gill. It’s only a little gift for Sandra but she might like it. I hope your mil is comfortable in hospital and not too confused or upset.
OH emailed Boots opticians yesterday but had no reply so this morning he tried ringing. He tried a couple of numbers but no-one was answering so in the end he drove back to town and went back to the opticians. Now there is a notice on the door saying they are closed due to staff shortages. I would have thought someone on the staff of Boots, even working from home, could have phoned or emailed people with appointments. We are close to town and can drive but there are people coming in from outlying villages on a poor bus service. It must be infuriating to get here, find the place closed and then be stuck here for a couple of hours waiting for the next bus back, or paying out for an expensive taxi home.
Sounds like Tesco arriving. Must go.

Afternoon to you all,
A nice winters day here in Northampton. SUN'S out to play. lol
Had a good night, and woke 7.45. Ros has just come home from shopping with Carolyn. She's had couple of bargains from Debenhams, who are closing down.
I've had a lazy morning, reading and watching the News. Had a call from the Dr. who is keeping an eye on me, since my fall. She wants a face to face in the New Year, with view to discharging me, if I stay well. that will be good news. Also had a call from the "FALLS NURSE" who is bringing a four wheeled seat thing, to see if I am able to get around on it.
Liver, Onions, Mash and peas for dinner tonight. Looking forward to it.
Hope you are all well, and looking after each other, Trust your OHs are fit and well also. xxxx

Just went for a mile and a quarter walk around the next estate and back through the (muddy) park. It was nice because I met a U3A friend and we had a long natter (socially distanced of course).
so far I have cleaned the cloakroom, tidied and cleaned the floor in the conservatory, been for the walk and done a couple of small jobs on the computer.
Every morning I try to make a list to make sure I keep busy for the morning then usually read and potter in the afternoon. Just got Cynth to get me a pack of butter (not the soft spread) as I thought I would have a go at making shortbread. Never made it before as T is not keen. That will be tomorrow now.
Thank you for your card Mandy.

Morning All,
A good sleep last night but I hadn't seen about the meteor shower or I would have looked.
The boys must look forward to their stockings from you Mel. You find just the kind of things they will like. It's a shame Mole Valley hadn't got something you wanted.
I hope they get the results for T quickly AnnG and that they can start treating him. Are they feeding him with a drip? It doesn't help when you daughter has such trouble getting through to them to find anything out either. What a horrid situation for you all.
Gill that was a long wait for your OH to get his vaccination. I hope there were seats as I wouldn't be able to stand that long. Hopefully he can catch up with some sleep!
Well I'd better go and check whether those mousey critters have found their way out despite the steel scourer!
