OH said he'll ring the hospital tomorrow, so hopefully he'll find out exactly what's wrong with his mum. I'm still not convinced it's a tumor or they wouldn't be moving her to another hospital in a different area, so I'm hoping ringing tomorrow will put his mind at rest.

That's a lot of fat balls Mel, the birds are going to love you this winter.

I'm watching the final of Strictly with Sandra, it's been really good, I'd like Bill Bailey to win, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.

Oh AnnG here's a (((hug))) from me too at least you now have a better idea as to whats going on ,lets hope they can soon move OH to a community hospital and hopefully they will work with him and get him mobile again .

Gill ,the sooner OH rings the hospital the sooner he'll know whats going on with his mum ,it will put his mind at rest and it may be she has got it all wrong anyway and he's worrying about nothing .

We watched Boris Ann hoping that we might have christmas day with son and family ,they will have lunch and then go home so they won't be here as long as they usually are .

Oh Mel that was a bit to close for comfort :-0 i hope she soon feels better .

It's been quite milder today and we even saw a tiny bit of sun just after lunch .
I've made the Viennese fingers today only broke three so not to bad they are so crumbly so break easily .

My neighbour had a family wedding acouple of weeks ago at the church. It was being on a video link thats why I had to make the advent ring quickly. B who got married has three brothers so I expect they were there and of course my neighbour who is their mum.

I'm still feeding my wild birds as they rely on me and I am still getting the long tailed tits every day as well as the nuthatches blue tits great tits black caps sparrows the woodpecker marsh tits and wood pigeons. The blackbirds are still eating the aples inthe orchard and the fieldfares.

Oh bought me a box of 150 fat balls for the birds and told me to use them as he was'nt wrapping that one up. It was so heavy and it had coloured pictures on the box they came in so he could'nt hide that from me as I took the delivery! They have gone through three of them today and they already had one out there this morning before I filled it up.

Gill oh should really ring the hospital to find out about his mum as that would put his mind at rest.

I've just watched the news and noticed the changes for Christmas Ann and the new tier 4. I wonder how many people will follow the rules, my mum's never followed the rules and I think she has plans for boxing day so it'll be interesting to see if she'll listen this time, I doubt it though.

I didn't think of the word trauma Mel, it would make sense as the hospital in Liverpool deals with the eyes, brain etc... but the one they're transferring her to doesn't. OH still hasn't rang the hospital and I think his mum is being moved on Monday. I think he's to worried to ring and I don't want to push him. I'm pretty sure it's not a tumor as like I said they wouldn't be moving her. Hopefully he'll pluck up the courage to ring the hospital soon. If not I might try calling them when he's in bed off nights, whether they'll tell me anything though with only being the daughter-in-law I don't know, but it's worth a try. Not sure what I'd say to him though if she's right and it is a tumor, he might not be happy at me for ringing them, but if it's good news I can let him know and he can stop worrying. No one in the family have rung him to let him know what's going on, he found out when his brother's wife told Michelle, she then told us. Since then no one has told us anything.

I bet that was a shock Mel, finding out your neighbour had tested positive, at least she told you before to you got to close to her. I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Hubby said Boris has changed the Christmas rules! Three households can only meet on Christmas day now in Tiers 1, 2 and 3. London and South east move to the new Tier 4.

Slept well and the sun is shining and OH has gone to a match quite near that has lots of open space around it so he can keep away from the few that will be there.

Oh dear AnnG, that is so sad but the doctor sounded good the way he explained things about your OH and it has confirmed some of your own thoughts I'm sure. It would be better if they moved him to a community hospital. It is what they did with MIL and was much more peaceful. I can't see how they could send him home when he isn't going to improve his mobility without physio and can't co-operate to do it. What a hard time this is for you but it was nice that the lady brought you the roses!

It was under the heading for that link that I put on here that I saw mention of feeding wild birds and I've copied it here. I couldn't find anything within the link either, so I checked the RSPB site and they seem to suggest it's ok to feed them but being hygienic with everything, so I shall carry on.

Frank are most of these falls in the evening and at night and usually after you have been drinking?? You really need to get checked out with your vision affected as people say. You also can't drink alcohol with a lot of meds and should check as AnnG says. I told you before that alcihol makes panic attacks more likely as well. It's no wonder Ros is cross with you,

Oh yes, the 'martians' in the hairdryers Island! lol. I cut my own hair till I was aged 40 as it was long till then, so never went to a hairdresser. Now it's every 7 weeks as it's very short and gets untidy. The 'martian' hoods disappeared decades ago at mine and they only seem to use the handheld dryers now. For a while they had a heated ring thing above your head that tilted as it turned around but even those have gone now! I hope your internet is ok now. Mine has kept going off the last few days.

I hope your OH has managed to ring the hospital about his mum now Gill. Better to know for sure what is wrong than keep worrying.

Oh Mel, the virus is a bit close to you now, but your neighbour was sensible. I wonder where she caught it? That's how I felt when I came away from the hairdressers, despite 3 lots of hand sanitiser before and after going!

Forgot to say I dropped off the cards to the neighbours this morning and when I went to give the card to Nichola next door she disappeared indoors. Then came out with a mask on and told me she has tested positive for corvid this morning so I left the card on the gate and came away quick. Got home and wiped everything down. I was'nt near her at least 10 foot away but I felt dirty when I got home.

Frank you are a naughty boy falling again like that. You must be more careful. Do you have your stick in the bathroom with you? You should get checked out as you are having these falls a lot and Christmas is'nt that far away now and you want to be well for going down to Devon. Sending a gentle ((hug)) to you as well. Gill I hope oh can get some answers from the hospital when he rings. You don't think MIL misheard and they did'nt say trauma behind the eye as that can happen.

e had a little sleet which settled on my car roof but it did'nt last long and the suns out now. We did have some thunder earlyer this morning after I had posted.

Anng your keeping busy in the garden but make sure you don't do too much at a time and keep warm.

It sounds like the doctors have done all they can for your OH AnnG, at least you know more now and although you don't like the sound of a care home, it might be the best place for him in the short term. You've been very busy in your garden, I'm not keen on sorting out prickly plants either, but like you said it'll save you the job in the spring. Sorry to hear some of the items of food shopping have been taken off, is there a way you can pick those up yourself before other's buy them.

We have the sun today to Mel. I've wrapped all my presents now, so I'm ready for the big day, just a few bits of food to buy nearer the time.

I'm hoping OH rings the hospital today, he spoke with his mum the other day and she told him she had a tumor behind her eye so he's convinced he'll be burying her next year. I said it might be best to speak to someone at the hospital as his mum is still very confused and may of got the tumor info wrong. He must be very worried as he never shares his feelings and always says he's alright. When he told me what he thought would happen to his mum it came out of the blue, we weren't even talking about her at the time. I think if he rings the hospital and finds out exactly what's wrong with his mum, it might put his mind at rest. I said if they're not giving her any treatment and moving her from Liverpool then it might not be as bad as you think. Hopefully he'll ring the hospital today and not put it off any longer, at least he'll then know what's going on.

Frank if you still feel faint maybe you should call 111 if you hit your head. This falling is not good and if you are on medication have you checked if you can drink alcohol. Ros could be right about the reason you fell. she is probably worried about how this is going to affect your break in Devon.

Just been out in the garden and almost filled the garden bin again cutting down rambling roses and cursing because he should have done that before he was ill and I can't reach, and prickly holly ditto. And then cutting back a hardy fuchsia and also his raspberries and hoping I got it right. Before I was doing the garden so he could see I had managed it, now the shine has gone off that but I am doing it for me so I don't have so much to do in the spring.

I have just come to try to post to you all. BUT I can't focus on the screen without squinting. I had a nasty fall again last night in the bathroom. My head was jammed against the door. Ros called Tony in to help. While he was coming round, I managed to get myself into a sitting position by grabbing to toilet bowl.

They managed to get me into the bedroomm and into bed. t was only 7.00 pm, but I managed to get ro sleep and slept until 8.00 am this morning.

Ros isn't talking to me, she blames me, and said I had too many beers,

I have hurt my right side, yet again. I have looked, but there are no bruises yet.

Feeling quite faint, so going to lay down. Madam is out changing a dressage bought the other day.

thats really nice Anng. Some people are so thoughtful and others ar'nt. Enjoy your roses and cut quite a bit off the stems under water if you can and they should take the water up better. Also sending another gentle (hug).

Are you keeping watch on your Christmas shopping on line orders?, they are knocking things off as they sell out in the shops which is so annoying, I have had brandy butter removed and also the miniature bottle of bubbly I ordered. which is really annoying. What is the point of having on line shopping slots if we lose out to people not shopping on line?

That was nice, the lady whose husband died earlier this year who has all the local advice on community hospitals and some care homes has just brought me a beautiful bunch of yellow rose buds.

Mel, as he has already had Covid I doubt they will bother with the vaccination. They may test for antibodies later I suppose.

thank you Vera the virtual hug was what I needed. No not what we wanted to hear but the news was actually not really a surprise so we were prepared for it and L said the doctor was very nice, he sounded very caring.

Much brighter morning here with some blue sky and huge white clouds and there a touch of a yellow thing very low in the sky.

Anng I hope they can get T into a community hospital as that may be better for him in th elong run. Have they mentioned anything about him having the vaccination as he is in the age bracket to have it? I hope they can get him mobile again so he can come home to you.

Usual things to do this morning drop off Em's eggs and get a few thigs from the shop. Still have a couple of presents to wrap so that should keep me quiet for today.

Oh AnnG, not perhaps the news you would have liked to hear. It sounds as if the doctor has been very honest with your daughter so at least you have a better idea of what is going on. Look after yourself as best you can and stay strong. Thinking of you and sending a virtual (((hug))) <3

The hospital doctor phoned daughter yesterday afternoon. He said that he had been reviewing the notes, and felt that each doctor T has seen has treated the problem he was having at the time, but no one had looked into the overall picture. The latest CT was of the brain and showed no change. He feels that it is very likely there is an underlying malignancy, probably the lesion they saw in his lung. The overall picture is of a steady decline during the time he has been in hospital. He doesn’t think it is a good idea to pursue any further investigations at the moment because of the number they have done already

He is still fairly confused sometimes, OK at others. He seems to have come through the COVID without major additional problems, he still needs to stay in isolation until Sunday.

He is still drinking very little and eating even less. They have prescribed protein shakes but he won’t take them, he usually refuses to cooperate with the physios. He also won’t always take his pills including antibiotics. He has photos by his bed, and the doctor specifically said he could see how much weight he had lost. He is still declining slowly.

He was phoning because once he can be released from isolation they need to decide what to do. They don’t think staying in this hospital any longer will help him at all. He had read the notes, and the difficulty is not coming home unless he can become mobile again. So his suggestion is that they see if there is a place in a community hospital to see if it is possible to get him mobile enough to return home. If not it is likely we have to consider a care home.

He approached it all very tactfully and said several times he knows how hard it can be to understand when someone has been very fit and well until recently

so it is still a wait and see situation but at least we know a bit more and can sort of see where we are going. In our view, they are not going to be able to get him mobile enough to come home. I have got my head around that, then it all depends if there is a vacancy in a community hospital and then how long they can keep him there. Not happy about a care home situation.
