HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE <3 <3 <3

Let's hope this year is a better one than last year.

Raining here today, we never got the snow in the end.

Sandra's phone is still playing up so she's decided to see if she can take it to a phone repair shop on Monday to see if they can fix it. She said she didn't want it in the rice anymore, but I managed to persuade her it'll help. Her phone is working better each time she turns it on but because it's not 100% yet, she gets upset. It's only been in rice for 5 days,

OH and I are sure eventually it'll dry out but Sandra hasn't got the patients to wait. I've been letting her use my phone to speak to people but I have a very old Nokia phone with a green screen....remember them lol. So she can only text or make phone calls on it. It's better than nothing but all she wants is her phone working properly again. Maybe she's learnt a lesson not to take her phone into the bathroom when she's having a bath. Time will tell though.

Going to watch the news now, we're a bit confused over the second dose of the vaccine, so we're hoping it'll tell us what's happening. OH's suppose to be having his second dose on Monday but we're not sure if he'll be given it or not, so far he's not been told not to go, but according to the news people aren't being told until they get there which isn't good for him as he works nights and the queue takes hours to get through, so he doesn't want to be hanging around if when he gets to the front of the queue they turn him away.

Every where will be shut Frank as your like us in tier 4 i think the only places open will be super markets and takeaways ,but not sure they will be today as it's new years day .
All veg done and beef in the tin , we have sorted out the indoor bin as the green bin should be emptied tomorrow .

We got the outside lights down the other day and then I realised we had left the little twinkly stick lights out in one of the shrubs ,they had rechargeable batteries in and needed charging again so they hadn't been on that's why I forgot them .

SuffolkVera Report 1 Jan 2021 11:01

Frank, if you are in Tier 4, there shouldn’t be anywhere open for you to have a meal. The best you can do is have a takeaway. We shouldn’t be leaving our homes except for certain limited reasons and shouldn’t have anyone in either. I know I sound a right killjoy but I would hate for you or Ros to put yourselves at risk or to get a fine for not sticking to the rules.

Have a good New Year’s Day everyone but take care and stay safe

Happy new year all lets hope its a better one for all of us and everybody everywhere.

Morning all sunny and white here this morning.

Oh has made a nice orange jelly withy manderins in it. its his favorite so thats something for dessert tonight.

All the bird feeders need filling up so he has his jobs for today.

Frank should you not be staying and not venturing out at all at the moment?

Frank what tier are you in? I thought you were in tier 4 and therefore all restaurants, pubs, bars cafes etc are shut except for take aways.

SHAPPY NEW YEAR tool my dear FRIENDS. I hope it's a good one for all of you and yours.

I was in bed by 10.00 pm. We wished each other A happy new year this morning. I was awake at 4.00 am and could not get back to sleep.

Spoke to Simon this morning. Poor Sally (his wife) is on nights tonight. hope she has a easy shift.

I would like to take Ros out for a meal today, if I can find somewhere open. Not sure yet if she wants to go. I'm sure I can find somewhere.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2021, and things work out for everyone. xxxx

Morning AnnG, morning all,

Happy New Year to everyone <3

When I got up to make a cuppa at half six it was a nice clear morning with a frost ,now the fog has returned and it looks a real murky day out there .

Not a lot planned for today ,we have a nice piece of beef to go in the oven later so I'll get the veg sorted a little later .
I did sort out a jigsaw for us to start some time it is a new one that son and DIL bought us with picture of a house surrounded by lots of pretty tree's and a colourful garden.

We have the freezing fog back now and its -3.4 now. I do hope T can get back to the quieter place so he can sleep as much as he wants.

AnninGlos Report 31 Dec 2020 20:38

Mandy thank you.
Annx yes, we know what T would want, to be left alone, no fussing. That is why he seeks refuge in sleep.

I will also wish you all a better new year for 2021. Good health a bit of wealth and hopefully freedom from this awful virus.

Annx

Annx Report 31 Dec 2020 20:13

Sorry to hear your news AnnG, but what T would want is most important and is what you have decided. Keeping him hydrated will help him be comfortable, but hopefully they will move him to the Community Hospital now where it will be more peaceful. Like the others I really feel for you through this horrendous time. <3 <3.

Some things don't seem to make sense in Tier 4. We are supposed to stay at home as much as possible and only go out for essential things, yet takeaways can be open and not just for main meals. A friend says she went to M&S this morning and bought clothes in the sale, yet retail should be closed. I know they can be open to sell food, but why aren't clothes and anything other than food fenced off like the garden centres did in the first lockdown? :-S Older children can still play sport, yet OH said a children's match being played within sight of a match he watched recently had both parents and children hugging and shaking hands and no social distance being kept. The city here has not been out of restrictions for months now, due they think to extended families and mixing in each others households. As many in the city have said they won't have the vaccination because of their beliefs etc, I can't see there being easing of restrictions for many, many months.

Island is that the little round button in the oval slot you had to switch off? I have had to do that a few times and it is a devil to find it. I'm sure it happens to me with the updates they do. Your FB challenge sounds interesting.

Mandy I think we are all lacking motivation just now. I haven't got round to doing much today at all and got up late again.

That was a good result with Sainsbury's Vera, especially as they let you keep the wrong refund too.We didn't get any frost today, but it sounded like your OH was glad to get home and warm again after his walk.

How is the finger now Mel? It's such a nuisance when you can't do things you want to.

We won't be seeing the New Year in either so I shall wish you all as HAPPY a NEW YEAR as possible. <3 <3

Oh AnnG i am sorry my thoughts are with you and your family <3

When i posted this morning the sun was shining but that didn't last long and the freezing fog came down ,we have had a lovely fire but it's one of those days when i just can't seem to get warm .

Ann we haven't started a jigsaw yet but we have left the table extended from when the family were here christmas day ,we do the jigsaw on one end of the table and eat at the other ,i can't seem to get motivated to do any thing ,even any crafting .

I don't think we will be staying up to see the new year in but i hope the new year will be better than this one ,what a year we've all had one way or another .

AnnG, My love and thoughts are with you, try to stay strong. The Cafe in Salcey Forest, was in a "ONE WAY" system. You ordered and pin for your coffee, then went round to the side of the building, and your coffee was put out on a table. It seemed to work well, as there were a lot of people waiting there.

Ros is engrossed in "PAINT YOUR WAGON" I saw it years ago, so not that interested. I have everything ready for dinner tonight. The steaks are thawed and resting, everything else is just waiting for me to start cooking. I expect we will eat sometime after 6.00 pm.

Valerie phoned earlier, to wish us a Happy New Year. Seems strange because over the years gone by, we always had a Dinner Dance in the Village Hall. HAPPY DAYS.

I am going to try to ready book, while the film is on. Won't be easy with all the singing and noise.

Won't be staying up to see the New Year in. But I wish you all a very HAPPY AND PEACEFULL NEW YEAR. God Bless you all. xxx
