After a dull start to the day the sun came out and stayed out till just a short while ago. It wasn't as windy as yesterday either so it seemed much warmer. I spent about two and a half hours in the garden in two sessions with lunch inbetween. The problem is the more I do, the more I see that needs doing. This garden is very small and I'm struggling to keep up with everything, so I don't know how we ever managed to cope with a big plot and I can't imagine how you manage with your acres Mel.
Thanks for the pics of your greenhouse Mandy. You've got plenty there to plant up and it all looks nice and healthy. Your tomato plants look a great deal bigger than mine.
The pics of your garden are nice and colourful too AnnG and the moon pictures are wonderful. Even though I was up in the early hours it didn't cross my mind to look outside. I can be pretty stupid sometimes.
I'm sorry you were poorly last night Ann and hope you are feeling tickety-boo now. It's good your pastel class went better. Are we going to see your work? That was nice to get some red roses from Asda but I bet you would rather they got their act together a bit more and had fewer subs. I wonder why they never seem to have lamb shanks. I've had no problem getting them from both Tesco and Sainsburys. How did your wipe-down go Mel? Did you have many subs?
Sorry you are still not feeling good Frank. I wonder if Ann is right and it's all the different meds together that is upsetting you a bit, though I would have thought your doctor would have considered what you are already taking when he prescribed something else. Hopefully you will feel a bit better tomorrow.
OH is "cooking" again. His "cooking" tonight involves putting cold ham on plates, putting some oven chips in the cooker and sticking some baked beans in the microwave. Not quite up to the standard of Masterchef :-).We would both prefer a ham salad but at the moment I am having to be very careful what I eat and lettuce, tomato and onion can all upset me. I'm OK with rocket but we have run out, peppers are alright too but I prefer them cooked, beetroot and cucumber are OK but I am not supposed to have the seeds of cucumber (I do though). OH could have a lovely big salad but won't do that if I can only have a few little bits and pieces.
He has just bought me a large glass of rose wine so I am going to enjoy that now before he calls me down to eat.

It is horrible here cold and grey looks as though it should be raining (which at least would be good for the garden) but it isn’t it is just gloomy and I have lights on.

Nice to hear from you Frank. Maybe it is your meds making you feel unwell if you now have painkillers for your back in addition to the rest you take. Good idea to rest up with your book today. After a sunny lunchtime it is dull again here. I hope Ros brings something for later so there's no cooking to do! :-D
I forgot all about the pink moon, so it passed me by literally. :-S I have just been asking for a couple of refunds on my Asda order. One sub, Mackerel with Chilli....yuk!! The other was Ham Hock with Leek that the date was up on yesterday. The red roses they sent are looking nice and fresh though.
Thanks for the pics of your seedlings and greenhouse Mandy. They are looking good and you are much tidier than me! I need to have a sort out.
The Pastel class went better this week. I think it was because I used watercolour paper instead of proper pastel paper, far less dust as well. One of the men in the class used the inside of a cereal box last week as he found it better. :-)
I think I will pot up a few more of the self set Pansy seedlings that are growing outside next. My head is spinning with looking at TV options now, but at least prices seem to have come down.

Afternoon to you all, I thought I had better pop in, as I don't want you worrying. xxx
Nothing sort of day here, Ros went back to the hospital this morning about the poorly tongue, she phoned me to say she has to go back next week. She is shopping with Carolyn, who has a lot of things to go and do, so I don't know when she will be home.
I have emptied the Washing Machine and put everything in the Tumble dryer,(Winter sheets and pillow cases) They should all be dry nowand ready to be put away for a few months.
Apart from that I have been reading my book in the conservatory with a COC. No idea what we will have for dinner tonight. Eos might bring something in with her, when she GETS HOME.
Not feeling that great again today. I have the heating on and a jumper on, as I don't seem to be able to get warm.
Take care all you lovely ladies, spark again soon. xxxx

I actually went outside just after 4 a.m. The moon was not at all pink, when I viewed it.
There were some lovely photos on our local news report though.

Morning All,
I drifted off to sleep last night then woke up half an hour later feeling pretty grim and wobbly. OH sat up with me and we watched a film about a disabled son that vanished without trace till I felt a bit better. I've gradually got back to normal this morning and wonder if it was icecream I had yesterday. I've been ok with Hagen Daaz before, but it was quite a big helping. OH thinks it may have been a bit of stress with the SKY man coming, but I didn't feel concerned about that at all with all the precautions he took.
Nice to hear from you Gill and I think we all know some of those kind of workmen! Hopefully this one will give you a quote. Your OH will have to be careful what he does at work and not undo the healing that's going on with his muscles. Don't overdo it yourself either, you don't both want to be held up with doing things.
You asked about buying TVs AnnG and the first thing I will do is look at the different types online as some were much more costly to run last time I looked (quartz, LED etc) and also look at any feedback. Then yes, we have a big Curry's half mile away on the retail park, so it will be an early morning trip there when there are few people in the store to look at what we have shortlisted. OH needs a new laptop too. He likes the bigger and brighter screen on mine but not the smaller keyboard so he need to actually see some.
Lunch is dinging so will BBL.

Done the ironing and put all the overwintering plants and cuttings outside for some air and help them harden off. Just having a drink and then I’m going to do an hour or so in the garden.
Gill, please wish Sandra a happy birthday for tomorrow. Tell her Amy the orang-utan is still doing well but apparently is a bit of a grumpy old lady now.

Morning Anng and all,
Not so bright here this morning and oh tells me this is the last day of the good weather we have been having. Still its been a month at least.
Nice to see you pop in Gill and will you wish Sandra a Happy Birthday for me for tomorrow when you hear from her please. Hope hubbys shoulder soon get better as I know he always likes to be doing something and he's probably thinking of what he could have gotten done int he garden with this weather we have been having. There's plenty of time to do the things you want so get him to take it easy.
My big wipe down today so I shan'nt be in the garden all day.

Good morning AnnG and all
You were on here early again AnnG. I was also up at 4.30 am but I am being strict with myself and not going online before 7.30. I think it wakes me up so much that I can’t get back to sleep.
Good to see you are OK Gill and I echo what Ann has said about your OH and workmen.
OH is out for his walk at the moment. It’s dull out and not very warm but the sun is trying to break through. I haven't got any plans for the day. It’ll just be whatever I feel like doing.

good to see you Gill, but if you work so hard you have no time to 'play' you will end up not being able to do anything as well. Do try and take time out for an hour or so.
Workmen deciding they don't want the job and not coming back with the quote make me really mad. If they don't want the work why don't they say so? I hope you can eventually find somebody to do it.
what about the gas boiler is that fitted, have you got hot water now? I assume you don't mean your OH ended up in hospital a second time? I am sure it is just that you have forgotten that we knew about his shoulder. Anyway I am pleased to hear that he is able to return to work, as long as he doesn't overdo it and hurt the shoulder again. and what about Sandra? Is she in he new home now with furniture sorted. At least the weather has let you get out in the garden. Is the hedge all cleared now?

Hi all, just popping in before I go to bed. I've been really busy in the garden this past week with OH not being able to do anything. He ended up in hospital with a sore shoulder, the doctor said he'd ripped his muscles in his shoulder and back so he's been on strong painkillers all week. He said he feels okay now so we think he might of just pulled a muscle rather than it tearing, so he's going back to work on Saturday when he sick note runs out. I said it was a bit to early but he's so bored and needs to do something, so he decided to go back to work. At least he doesn't do any heavy lifting at work so hopefully he'll be okay, time will tell whether he should of taken more time off or not.
It said on the news there's a super moon tonight, but it's to cloudy to see. This always seems to happen to us when there's something to see in the night sky :-(
I've had yet another workman here today to do a quote for the removal of the chimney all I need now is for him to email me the quote and a date he can start. I've had that many workmen here saying they'll do a quote then we don't hear from them again I'm beginning to think we're never going to get the job done, so I really hope the fella who came today doesn't let us down like everyone else.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts, I hope everyone is okay. Off to bed now as I'm shattered, I hope everyone has a good night's sleep.

WE have a tv in the kitchen diner where I watch it in the evening as we don't use the lounge, one in the bedroom and one in his study. The old one is up the caravan.
Hope you get more sleep tonight girls and feel better for it in the morning.

So Vera and Anng have had a nice walk today. Perhaps it will make you sleep better tonight. I hope so.
Still not done all my pots but nearly there. I did wash loads of pots this afternoon as I want to put some of the patio dahlias in small ones as there was so many in the big pot they came out of. I have 10 in 3 inch pots and there's more to go in bigger ones.
Swept out the bantams and when I put their scratch tray back in they jumped in it and scratched like anything turfing all the soil out all over my nice clean floor.
Oh has got the old zero turn mower out of the shed over the west wall and has it up on the ramp. I did'nt think it would fit and it does overhang the ramp a bit and the wheels are only just on it. He has'nt used it for years and it has a hole in the exhust pipe and he looked online for one and it was £160 for a Feris one (American firm) but he did find a rusty one somewhere that was £100 second hand!! He thinks he may be able to fix it to save money. He pulled it up onto the ramp with the digger verrrrryyyy sloooowwwly..... Digger is working fine now after its averhaul.
He also dug out the Gunera which has died this winter. I am quite glad its gone really as it was behind my pond and I could'nt get to my garden that side. Robby is nesting somewhere down there too and he cut back the big rose so he could get through with the mower and digger. Remember last year the rose knocked his seat off the mower? and he landed on the grass? I was going to cut it back and then we saw Robby going in it so it did'nt get cut when it should have.

We have 4 tvs, there's one in the lounge, one in each of 2 of the bedrooms and one in the study which isn't on SKY. SKY costs us a whopping £100 a month with OH's SKY Sports and BT Sports, but he is still earning so it's a treat for him.. I would like the one in here in the kitchen, but there's not really room and, as you know I don't like spending much time in there! lol.
I'm off to bed now.......course in the morning means another quite early start!

Glad you got a walk in Vera nice to be out in the sunshine.
I have four TVs although one in the spare bedroom is not on the TiVo box just comes off the aerial. There is one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and one in my office. That was where T watched his sport and now it is there for Joe when he comes.

I'm glad your Sky man was early Ann. I hate it when you are waiting all morning for someone to arrive and they turn up at lunchtime. You are having an expensive time of it this month. We only have 2 TVs, a very old one in the conservatory which only ever goes on for the news if we are having a lunchtime snack out there, and an oldish one in the lounge. I know most people have bedroom and kitchen ones these days but I have never wanted them. Now, if I couldn't have books all over the house I would be unhappy. I do watch some TV but books are really my thing. I've got 3 on the go at the moment, a medieval murder mystery, a biography of Maggie Smith and I'm re-reading Northanger Abbey (my least favourite of Jane Austen's books).
I did go for a short walk this afternoon. It was quite cold but I wrapped up well and it was nice and sunny so I enjoyed it.
It's good your dressing got changed and the wound is looking good AnnG.
I agree it would be good if Gill could just pop in.
OH decided he would sort our meal tonight so he is doing his favourite bubble and squeak. As there were no leftovers he will have to do it from scratch. Unfortunately I know I will be spring cleaning the kitchen when he has finished :-|
Our neighbour knocked with our Monday treat at around 4 pm. It was lemon drizzle cupcakes today and they went down very nicely with a cup of tea.
OH has just called that dinner will be no more than 5 minutes so I had better get myself downstairs. Have a good evening and sleep well everyone.

I just crept in ahead of you Annx when will you shop for TVs will you buy them on line? I think you would find Curry’s not too busy if you went there. With TVs I like to look at them.
