Oh that fall Mel, it was so long ago it had slipped my mind, I thught it was a new fall.

Had a friend for coffee for an hour in the conservatory doors wide open and window open. Not very warm when the sun went in but ok when it was out. It was good to have a natter.

didn't do much first thing just pottered around, then after she had gone I took a pill so then had to wait an hour before I could eat lunch. This afternoon I have sorted out 4 more empty blue baskets and gently filled one up.

It was ages ago Anng she fell down the step coming out of the surgery.

Been in the hsed this morning and Robby has a pot of mealworms inthere and if its empty he makes his present felt by flying near me or just generally making a nuisance of himself till I put more worms in the pot. Today baby Robby sat on my strawberry barrow bar and Robby flew to him empty beaked but the babe still fluttered its wings with its beak wide open and yelling at the same time. We think Robby has two babies out of the nest and she's sitting again. We think they are in the Rhodo at the back of my pond.

Poor Vera we all feel for you you know only having drinks today. It will leave you feeling energyless. The day is nearly over now and I hope the headache goes soon. <3

Going back to the hsed now to sow some seeds and some potatoes in pots or bags.

Oh I didn't see that Island had had a fall, I must have missed that, when did she post about it. I hope she is not too sore/bruised and that she is feeling OK.

Vera, No doubt you will lose weight today and put it all back on afterwards. Just rest because you won't have any energy not having any food.

Morning all

Sunny spells mixed with grey clouds here but the wind has dropped a lot and no rain yet today, though we are promised more of the wet stuff this afternoon.

Good to see you posting Frank. Unfortunately ribs are generally left to recover on their own and they can take their time but I hope you soon feel more comfortable. How is Ros’s tongue now?

I ought to be doing things in the garden but I don’t have any energy today. I had very little sleep last night and, of course, have no food inside me so I have a monster of a headache. I had my gunge at 10 am as instructed and it was pretty horrible. Even with water and some squash added as they suggested it still left a very bitter taste in my throat and left my teeth feeling rough. I suppose that’s the iodine in it. At least I only have to have one other lot at 6 pm and not the 8 glasses of stuff I had to have last time. I had water at 8 am, tea at 9, gunge at 10, juice at 11 - now what shall I have for my 12 noon drink? It’s very exciting having so much choice ;-). I think it might be grapefruit squash this time.

Going to read the paper now and see if I can get my brain in gear to do the crossword. Have a good day everyone.

Good to know you are ok Frank and I hope they heal soon for you. Have you been in the conservatory reading your books?

I wonder how Island's is after her fall at the doc surgery?

Love to you both. <3

Good morning all,
Sorry I haven't been around, but after my fall I haven't felt too good. My RIBS on the right side, are still very sore. Of course there is nothing the Dr can do about it, so I just have to bare with it.

I haven't read any of your posts (SORRY) Speak again soon. xxxx

Morning Anng and all,

Lovely bright morning here with plenty of the yellow stuff, bluie sky and big fluffy white clouds in a cluster hanging on the breeze to dry. Spring everywhere and blossom in your hair..........

Vera thinking of you today and hope everything goes well and its not a long day.

I am determined to get in the garden today but should do a bit of HW first or I feel guilty and can't enjoy what I am doing. I still have seeds to sow like my Nasturtiums and some pots that had started growing in the potato bag.

Good morning, slept (woke once for the loo) until 5.30 so decided to get up at 6 and take the first pill for today. Have to be an hour before or two hours after food (so on an empty stomach) and evenly spaced so 0615, 01215, 6.15pm and 11pm .

2 degrees out there this morning and bright so far.

I have a friend coming for coffee this morning, not sure if it will be warm enough outside or it may be in the open door conservatory again, with the double doors open and the side window open there is a free flow of air.

Vera hope today is not too bad for you.

Ddid'nt get much done in the garden today but did tidy the shed up a bit and move my potting tray along so I get the light on it. washe da few more pots this morning before the wipe down arrived.

Sorry you have a bit of infection in your wound from the op Anng but the antibiotics should soon sort that out and I hope they don't upset your tum too much. <3

I do wish we could hear from Frank so we know just whats going on with him. Sending lots of love and wishes and hope he's feeling a bit better now. <3

Where is our Island. I hope she is just busy inthe garden.

We had a shower of rain this afternoon after 6pm but it did'nt last too long. I had to bring the washing in as it was still blowoing a bit then but the wind dropped a bit later. Theres a clear sky tonight and lot of stars and its quite chilly.

Its good the picture was'nt ruined with the spill Ann. Can't wait to see it.

As the nurse pointed out, it was not the first time, I had a Bcc reminded from the back of my neck, that infected too. Both were wounds that had to be covered because clothes would rub. They were thorough this time called a senior practice nurse so she could prescribe antibiotics. Took a swab and checked my temperature asked me if I felt well. I guess they are worried about sepsis.

Annx Report 4 May 2021 20:29

I missed your post with not sending mine for a while AnnG. It's a pity to have found you have an infection and need antibiotics. I find after a couple of days my tum seems to get used to them so hopefully yours will. You are certainly getting some exercise with the walk! Luckily the drink missed my work as you can't salvage a pastel drawing.

Yes cafes have sprung up in several of the villages and the farm shop here. My OH always says, 'just ask me' when I complain he hasn't done something. It must be a man thing I think, but he just doesn't know how to be proactive and see something needs doing and do it. It doesn't always work when you ask him either. Last night I said to throw out the Asda roses they sent that past it now and were on a table next to the front door. This morning he walked right past them to go and put the bin out ............without them in it. :-S

It's gone very cold again tonight, another early one for me as OH is watching footie.

AnninGlos Report 4 May 2021 18:46

Yes we have also lost M&Co and Klass all now on line. In Cheltenham we still have John Lewis and, is Monsoon still going. Matalan is still in the out of town shops and, although it is before .november since .i last looked, Tesco and Sainsburys often have what I like.

Oops Ann that was not a good idea, did it miss your work?

Chilli with jacket tonight better go and sort it.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 4 May 2021 18:32

Sorry you have an infection AnnG. I hope the antibiotics work without upsetting your tummy.

It's good that you have got your dental appointment sorted Ann. Fancy spilling your tea.. It must be the day for tea spills as OH was bringing me a mug of tea upstairs and just caught his toe. He kept hold of the mug but he had filled it to the brim so it slopped all over the carpet on the stairs. You are right about the shops. We have next to nothing left in our town now, except endless coffee shops and cafes. Even the bigger towns near us have lost a lot of shops and now Lakeland have closed in Ipswich.

Lots of heavy rain and wind again this afternoon but the sun is out now and I think the wind is dropping a bit. I hope so.

I hope Frank is OK after his fall the other day. It would be good to hear from him and Gill and Island.

I'd better go and start cooking our dinner. It's all prepared and OH could well cook it and I know he's more than wiling to help if I ask but it would be lovely if, just once, he thought of doing it without being asked.

Well the sun was shining and my dandelions didn't look at all right so I went up the garden to do some pricking out instead. Before I reached there the rain started again, but not for long. I managed to do the rest of the French Marigolds and 48 Mesembryanthemum. That has only used a quarter of the tray of seedlings so I might see if a couple of friends would like some. I could leave them outside by the front door for them to collect.

Heck, what am I like! I just tipped some of my tea over the pastels I left out to come back to! No using those till tomorrow now,

I managed to book a long overdue dental checkup. I want them to check that little lump I have too. They told me that 2 dentists had left, but my lovely dentist is still there. We have to ring them from the carpark to say we have arrived now and then wait in our car till they ring us to mask up and come in.

I was thinking today how different shopping will be and how many will have gone once I start going again. In recent years we have lost Rackhams, Debenhams, BHS, Bon Marche. Years before we lost British Home Stores and C&A. Where will we buy our clothes? M&S seem uninspiring lately leaving NEXT and Primark.

Better get on and add some items to my Asda order now. It's a big job if you leave it till the last minute.

You don't need more gloom when the weathers like this Ann. We've had no rain this morning just very high winds and sunshine in patches. Now I have said that I am going to wash up the lunch things and go out there and then I suppose it wioll decide to rain.

Could'nt do the washing up before as I had no hot water. Nobody turned it on this morning and what was in the tank I used to wash some more pots while waiting for my delivery.

Afternoon All,

It was still blowing like mad this morning here but I managed to sleep well and I didn't notice any damage as I went to look at the greenhouse. Some years the wind has shaken things off the shelves in there and they've fallen on plants but it looked ok. We've had a few heavy showers and the wind keeps getting up but it's raining again now..

What a shame you have lost some plants Mandy and just as you had got them pricked out as well. I think I would be done in clearing everything up too but at least you didn't lose everything and will be able to move the greenhouse to where you had it before.

I hope they can remove your stitches today AnnG so you won't need to go back again for them to do it. Yes it must be hard at first when you have recently lost your other half too. I expect with time you will start to sleep better, especially as you start to be able to socialise more.

Vera, good luck with your drinks and at least you have the luxury of the Ambrosia to look forward to this time.

We've had scam calls yesterday and today, both without any accent so maybe they are realising less of us are answering those. One was our internet 'problems' and the last was the expiry of our non existent washing machine cover! We also had an irishman call at the door about cleaning the drive.

I need to get on with today's pastel picture now........a field of dandelions with a gloomy sky!

I managed to save most of the plants it was just the little ones I pricked out the other day they shot all over the place so no chance of saving them .
Colin had screwed it down to the slabs but it pulled them out it was so gusty,we think we'll clear everything out and turn it round so the fence shelters it ,thats how I usually have it but we thought we'd turn it this year.for a change .

Still gusty and raining .

Vera seems a waste to have the custard but you need some thing inside if only for a little while.

Wonder how Frank is hope we hear from him and hope we hear from Gill too .

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 4 May 2021 11:12

Poor you Mandy. Have you managed to rescue most of the plants? It’s so disheartening when that sort of thing happens. Our little garden doesn’t have room for a proper greenhouse so when we moved here we bought one of those plastic ones just for overwintering some geraniums and protecting a few cuttings. It’s up the side of the garage with the bins and OH had anchored the base very firmly to the concrete path where it stands so I knew it wouldn’t move. I thought I had better check it and found that a large folding fruit cage had blown from its normal position against the fence and was lying across the front of the plastic house. Luckily it doesn’t seem to have damaged it.

It’s blowing a real hooley out there at the moment and isn’t supposed to ease off till this evening.

I’ve been through my paperwork from the hospital and the clear liquids list includes all the usual stuff such as drinks made with Bovril, juice, squash etc. but as I said before it includes milk and for some reason Ambrosia Custard :-S. Not any old custard, but specifically Ambrosia. What’s that all about then? It’s hardly a clear liquid. I do have some in the cupboard and am now deciding whether to enjoy a bowlful tomorrow when OH has his lunch or whether it’s a waste of money as I know it won’t - how shall I put it? - stay with me for long.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 4 May 2021 10:38

O Mandy what a nasty job you have picking up all your little plants. Did it blow over on its side? Oh found a little split on mine and stuck some tape over it. Trouble with mine is the poly cover has a 3 inch gap at the bottom so the sind gets inside. The top bar is so thin it has bent down but I dare not open it up to straighten it. Its wide and not very deep mine and oh has'nt put the shelves up only across the top and falling down so I can get my 4 tom plants in it. Its only big enough for the 4 plants.

Washing blowing nicely on the line and about to put another load in.

Delivery is going to be late today as its arriving about lunch time.
