Morning All,
Nice bright sunny morning here today but a bit chilly at the moment. There's not a cloud i the sky out the front. Saw a little stag out the bedroom window when I got up he was nibbling the Hawthorn trees lower branches.
Not sure if there was a frost but it still feel very cold.

Mandy the bag is great and I love the material I take it the other side is the same as the handle that side. Colours do go so well together. Love the Paddington pencil case too. they'll be pleased with that.
Did a bit more in the shed this afternoon. Just wishing we could have a rainy day so I can do some craft. It turned out nice today but we still have that bitterly cold wind.
Hope Vera is better today and the headache has gone.

Oh I see Mandy! Here's hoping for a sunny day tomorrow then! Your sewing is beautiful and so good, it really is! Thanks for sending the pics as I love to see what you make. You have had a far more productive afternoon than lazy me!
I hope you are more comfortable with those stitches out AnnG. Maybe you will sleep better now.

Well i never got out int the garden as we had another shower of rain so i did some sewing ,a friend wanted a pencil case for her grandson so i made that and then decided i'd have a go at a tote bag which i was quite pleased with i made it with fat quarters ,i had two the same for the lining but had to have two different ones for the outside but i think they go together ,i'll send a photo .
Ann son is coming tomorrow to look at the machine so my washing that was in and hadn't spun that well is still in a tub .
AnnG thats good you've had the stitches out it might start to feel a little easier now and be more comfortable when you lay . Thats always the way you can be sure someone will want to do work when you need to go out
We've had a couple starlings in the garden ,we were watching them as they went into the Orange Poppies and have stripped all the poppy buds off and flew off with them ,all there is left is stalks ,they must have little bugs inside the buds ,than blow me they went over to the other little garden and started on the Yellow Poppies little devils . We've had a Magpie in the garden too

Sister Jane took my stitches out. Ouch they were tough but she was very gentle (well as she could be). She checked the photo and said it had improved and she cleaned it up before taking the stitches out. ahe then put on an iodine dressing and a small waterproof dressing and made me an appointment for Monday when hopefully Cynth will be able to take me as it doesn't tie in with the bus. She gave me extra dressings as well, and was very sad to hear about T She is a lovely caring nurse. I then walked the mile home among all the school children again.
When I got home I was checking the plants in the conservatory when in trotted Skinny the black cat who thinks I belong to him as well as his real family. I gave him a fuss and chatted to him then shut the door into the house. That was half an hour ago. I just looked through the door and guesss who is curled up asleep on the settee out there.
Had a phone call on the answer phone from my chiropodist reminding me of my appointment tomorrow. And an email from the fellow who is going to replace the glass for me he wanted to do it tomorrow. all the time I have been stuck in here and he has to choose when I have an appointment.

Afternoon All,
Nice and sunny today but still a bit chilly.
That's a nuisance with your washer Mandy, there's always a feeling of panic when they don't work, but you are right those filters can be devils to undo. Hopefully that will have been the problem though and that your washing is out drying now.
Mel I have found a pot of bulbs behind the shed that OH thought had nothing in and was going to throw out, but it had Snowdrops this year and I'm glad you have reminded me to plant them out in the back garden before I forget what's in there again. The teacher says to do what you suggest and look at a picture the next day, but I haven't heard of the mirror idea so I will try that.
What is hard about the dandelions is that you are making small marks on a field on A4 size paper with a pastel the size of the chalks we had as children. The yellow mixes with the green of the field and doesn't show up well and if you press harder the pastel crumbles. :-S I will send my effort. It has a big black cloud to the right that was in the picture and that we could practice blending on. I don't think it will be one to keep!
Glad you both seem to be on the mend now Frank. We decided on a postal vote this time so ours have already gone. I imagine a lot have done the same so it shouldn't be busy at the polling stations.
AnnG OH's working life has been about public service which he really enjoyed, but he still took early retirement at age 57 as he fancied more time at home to do things together and the opportunity to try other things he might be enjoy. He likes 'giving something back to society'. The voluntary things he does aren't work to him as he has a very quick brain and mops info up info and decides things in a few minutes. Some of his appointments end next year, as they have already been renewed the number of times allowed. He has less schools now, so he will be doing much less, not that it has stopped us doing things together anyway. I'm not inclined to clip his wings as his first wife didn't even like him being away on training courses and stopped his career progressing, as she wanted to be driven to work and everywhere else, despite being able to drive herself and having a new car!
I'd better check the greenhouse next. It's a pity it is so cold as I would normally have the outside pots planted by now and the back wallpots on the wall and the beans planted outside.
I think the chap living in Jean's old bungalow where we saw the ambulance might have had something like another stroke as carers in PPE are visiting each day now.
I wonder if Gill has a date from the builder yet and how her OH is doing now he's back at work. I hope Sandra understands what could happen with her flat and boyfriend too.

You don'nt realise just how much we depend on our washing machines till they go wrong do we?
Frank I am pleased your ribs are better today and take it easy when you go to vote we can't have you falling over again. Pleased too the Ros's mouth is much better. Must have been really horrid with that sore tongue. Have a nice day together.
Mandy we have had a shower or two this morning. I have been in the shed and sowed my Nasturtiums and taken a daffs out of the snowdrop pot and repotted the daffs too. They came from down the church and were all laying on the ground with some of the special snowdrops so I brought them home and put them all in pots but some were not snowdrops so they went in another pot the year after. Then this year I had another one come up in the snowdrops so thats gone into the daffs pot and in a bigger pot. I must remember to feed them now. I asm hoping they may be wild daffs but time will tell. I had some wild ones in the bank here but lost them when oh took the bank out.
Better get some lunch now or he will be after me. He is still fiddling with the big mower and can't get a vital bit off.

Good to see you Frank and to hear that Ros's tongue is getting better, and also your ribs. I just had a walk about and loo visit at that time then went back to bed until 0730, I find it difficult to saty in bed once awake because I have to lay in one position to avoid disturbing the dressing on my back. sunny and cloudy here, I am hoping it will stay dry to let me get to the doctors this afternoon, bus and walk. Tomorrow I have a chiropodist appointment at 10.30 in town so will have to catch a bus around 0950.
Happy gardening Mandy. anoying when washing machines go wrong.

Good morning to you all,
Thanks for your concerns about Ros and I. I am pleased today Ros's mouth is much better. As for me, my ribs are not hurting this morning, so a good sign.
You are the early bird Ann. You will feel like an afternoon kip after being up all this time.
We have nothing to do today, apart from voting a bit later.
All showered and shaved, clean shirt and trousers. Now going to read in the conservatory. See you all later.xxxx

'It is your early morning call'
good morning all 2 degrees out there so no frost. I am going to have the three tomatoes I have outside soon. Looked at long range forecast for next week, it looks pretty wet but 11-14 degrees so maybe at the weekend. Woke early to start the tablet sequence early. Be glad when I have taken them all, inconvenient to have to keep remembering to take them leaving the gap around food.

Mandy don't worry about the tom plant with its top broken off. Just wait and it will send out a side shoot you can train up the cane. Also make sure you tie them at the bottom of the plants which will help them stay straight. I have had plants that stop growoing at the top and have done that and they carried on ok. My toms are still inthe uti room at the mo. I do need to repot then now though as they hav'nt any canes inthem yet. Not even sowed runners yet and would'nt put them out yet as we are still having frosts.
I seem to be having 4 eggs a day and one or two broken. The shells are very thin and sometimes I put my finger on them and dent them right away. I did two on Sunday but used them in scrambled eggs for oh and one fried for me.
Anng hope you don't have trouble with your tablets tomorrow when you have to go and see the nurse.
Ann I always like to look at work the next day as you see it in a different eye but you can also look at a picture inthe mirror and see it in a different aspect again sort of like someone else would see it.

Mandy, glad you have got it all back in. It is a strange year so cold later than usual and plants not going in when they would normally. I expect nature will work it out for us. I have put three little upright sweet peas out in a tub as it was getting too hot for them in the conservatory and they were not happy. Only taken four tablets so far and no problems as yet. Don’t want any tomorrow either as I have to go and see the nurse again.
Ann hope the tooth doesn’t) start to ache. As you say not good if going away.
MANDY HOPE SONgas sorted his tooth out.

Evening all,
It hasn't been a bad day here until about half four when we had a heavy shower ,we managed to get the green house sorted ,we cleared every thing out decided that we would keep it where it is and Colin has put some more clips on the bottom tubes so hopefully it won't go any where now . I found one tomato plant had got the top broken off , everything is back in now . We have put the canes in he garden ready for the runners which need to go in as they are about a foot high already and starting to twist together, the dwarf beans and the peas both need to go in too.
Vera the gunge drinks don't sound very nice you'll be glad when its all done and you can eat normally again ,hope that headache has eased .
Oh dear Ann sounds as if the dandelions were not to easy to draw although you say they don't look better today but I bet they are as all your drawing/paintings are lovely.
AnnG How's the tummy any effects yet from the antibiotics.
Nice to hear from Frank today, take it easy Frank those poor ribs of yours thats about the third fall where you've given them a battering .
Ann thats a devil you've lost a bit of filling hope it doesn't start aching, son had to get an appointment with the dentist today his tooth he had the temporary filling in started aching again ,I must message him to see how he got on.
I decided I would shop this afternoon and was surprised it wasn't that busy, now I have not wiped all of it today most of it is store cupboard so won't get touched for a while but the others bits I did wipe.
Mel are the eggs still getting eaten .

What is the problem with your dandelions. Your OH is a glutton for work isn’t he, neither I or T could wait to retire and .i am so pleased that we both enjoyed 20 years retirement together and T had a few more years on his own

Afternoon All, Another good sleep and a much brighter day although we had a hail storm at lunchtime.
Two days this week we have had a scam call before 8.00am, both times about our internet!! OH wasn't impressed at having to leap out of bed before the answerphone cut in.
Having just got my dentist appointment sorted yesterday, would you believe a small filling at the back of a front tooth fell out at lunchtime!!! The dentists won't do anything if it isn't aching, but she has pulled my checkup appointment forward to next Thursday and I'll have to see if he can do a temporary filling that won't need the drill. Just what you want before you go away isn't it!!
OH is just deciding whether to apply to add another voluntary job to what he does.......a Lay Observer with the Courts within 50 miles. It does look interesting and he fits all the criteria and it would involve 3-4 half days a month.
Yes, we haven't heard from Island for a while have we and that sounded a nasty fall she had. It's good to hear from Frank though, but I hope he starts to feel a bit better soon. Those ribs do take a lot of time to heal so be careful moving about so you don't fall again Frank.
Oh Vera, those things you have to drink don't sound nice. It will be good when this scan is done. As the others say it sounds like a nice rest today is what you need.
An old schoolfriend I met again online recently has an operation to remove a lung cyst today. She lives alone and has about 6 of those King Charles Spaniels she used to breed and show at Crufts. A friend has moved in to look after them for her till she comes home.
We were saying this morning AnnG that we must resume some sorting now we've got rid of the last bags of things to the charity shop. I'm sorting through the plastic bottles of sprays/feed etci n the greenhouse this afternoon and putting them in some big plastic containers with lids. I'm hoping being out of the sun's rays they won't crumble and fall apart!
My dandelions don't look any better this morning!
