I had to put a cardi on as I felt cold. Its 19 degrees here now and cloudy grey skies.
Ann the donkey was a present to Em's mum and it had a baby not long after she had it. They didn't know at the time it was pregnant so that was a nice surprise. Havn't done a thing really except get myself some lunch, spaghetti on toast and a big glass of water.
I could just drop off to sleep now but the thing is I never now when to wake up and it could well be past 7pm knowing me. Not so bad when you have someone who can wake you to get dinner ready.

Afternoon All,
I was sure I posted earlier but obviously not! Bright sunshine after a cloudy start here. Same as Mel I was woken by banging too and new windows were being fitted down the side of the bungalow opposite and Openreach were also here further along and digging up another neighbour's side of their front garden where they laid cables last year. Over the road there was a radio blaring with thump, thump music in the workmen's van. I think I could hear it more than they could which was a bit irritating.
Is that the lathe you hoped to sell Mel? I have an unopened and unused drill in the garage that I should have sold ages ago as the workmen all use battery powerpack ones now. It's good there is space for both mowers in your garage now and I expect with the lathe and extractor gone there is room to sort or throw out things as you say. How nice Em's dad having two Donkeys. It reminded me of the Greens in the vet programme who have two as well.
It was a no show with the window cleaner again Mandy. I suspect he may be on a fortnights holiday. Yes be careful not to aggravate your poor back. I am ok getting in and out of bed and the car now, but I am still being careful with bending or twisting.
We just had a nice salad lunch with jacket potato, cottage cheese and boiled egg. I've changed ink in the printer and ordered more and also emptied the shredder. I might tackle the shelf with some matchsticks next.

BIL gone now as he has an eye appointment this afternoon. He has moved the lathe and the dust extractor up the potting shed so both those things are out of the garage. It has made more room I just need to chuck some more thing away in there and he should be able to get the two mowers in there.
Getting hungry may have an early lunch and do a bit more potting in the shed.

Morning Mandy and all,
Its a bit overcast here this morning and I was woken up by banging. When I looked out of the window BIL was here moving the big lathe around by taking it apart. He wants to get rid of it so he can get the two mowers in the garage as Em's dad Phil wants his mower out of their stable up the top as their two donkys are going in there.
Pc says rain starting in an hour and its 18 degrees.
I said it yesterday but I will say it again. Safe journey home Anng.

Morning all, Very overcast here today but I think we should see some sun and it should start to warm up as the week goes on . I'm gradually doing a few jobs ,just trying to be careful that I don't pull my side again ,it's not to bad first thing in the morning but by the end of the day I start to feel it .
The weeds seem to be shooting up after the rain but I'm not bending to do them ,I can use the hoe but then have to bend to pick them up .
Ann hope you managed to get your showr before the window cleaner arrived .
I expect your well on your way home now Anng ,hope there's no hold ups ,safe journey.
Poor bil Mel with those horse fly bites ,they really nip in and can be so itchy and sometimes the bites blister .
Vera you'll meet yourself coming back with being so busy ,do make some time for yourself .
Going to have my cuppa then get on with something .

Good evening
This will be a very quick post and I may not be online tomorrow. I'm OK but really busy. I realised when I got up that we have a hectic week so today would probably be my only chance to do any washing. I hadn't planned to wash but ended up doing 3 loads, changing the bedding, cooking the full Sunday roast dinner that OH loves and doing a bit in the garden. Tomorrow I have to go to our doctor's main surgery for blood tests and will do some other jobs while I am in town. I also have to pick up my meds from the pharmacy near us and we have a club meeting in the evening.
I have managed to read all your posts. Safe journey home tomorrow AnnG. I'll "see" you in a day or two.

All the washing dried quickly and is put away now and I dusted the bedroom in two sessions so that looks better. I tidied more away in the study but still haven't come across the curtain hooks I bought.
We need to shower early tomorrow as I bet the window cleaner will come as he hasn't been this week. I hope you have a good journey tomorrow AnnG without much traffic. I think you may find that a few weeds have grown while you've been away if you had the rain we have had. At least they are easier to pull up after the rain though.

Poor BIL getting stung by those! Their stings hurt more as well. I thought about using a matchstick Mel as I have used them in the past, but we don't possess any matches now as we have a battery thingy to light things..................OH has just appeared with some Swan Vesta matches he found in the garage so one way or another you have helped me sort the problem Mel! It's the rawlplug that's loose so I can take it out and put the matchsticks in the hole before tapping it back in or put one in the rawlplug. Either way it should tighten the screw. The shelf has my sets of little drawers with my bead things in them on it and they are quite heavy, so it will be good to get it secure again. It was the last workmen that were leaning their hands on it as they climbed over their tools that loosened it, but it perhaps wasn't as secure as it should be anyway.

BIL is just going but he did strim most of the road which I don't really like so there's still weed all along the edge. I like to scrape it off and then treat it with weedkiller. As it is any seeds that have been left on the road will grow.
I am going to have something to eat now and take my pills.

been in the garden as BIL turned up and did some strimming and at the moment the has taken one of the grass collector boxes up to Phil shed up the top where he keeps the new mower. He's been bitten by horse flys this morning. I came in to put my gong a longs on and a cotton shirt and tried to put my short boots on but I can't get my feet in them. I am back to rubber shoes and I just found a new pair in the cupboard I had forgotten I had. Back out now after a drink of water.

Morning All,
Sunny and warm here. My fleece throw dried overnight so the bedding is changed and the washer is on for that now. I did a silly thing and poured the washing liquid in the rinse drawer by mistake so had to use an old cloth to try and soak it up as best I could.
I went outside then while OH hoovered and then walked up to the village shop for papers and his orange juice he likes. I planted the remaining two geraniums and three petunias. I noticed the slugs have had a nibble too. I squirted more of the nasty weed in the gravel in the back garden and pulled a couple of handfuls of weeds out, There are so many after all the rain and they are growing faster than we can pull them out just now. Then I picked a few shoots of mint to root in some water and came in and was boiling hot. I'd recently asked OH to find me a bit of wood to plug a hole where a screw was loose in a shelf. Can you believe he brought me a piece of the old trellis wood and left it in the conservatory for me a couple of weeks ago. No problem except I since noticed it was full of woodworm holes!! It's in the bin now as he still left it there!!
We've ordered a carvery for today, a normal sized one between us as that is plenty as they still do huge helpings.
I bet you daughter and SIL wonder where you get your energy from AnnG! I know I wish I had some of it. lol. I'd enjoy watching such a pretty variety of birds on the feeders too. I was up early this morning, but often need a lie in. Mind you I decided to watch the Trooping of the Colour I'd recorded last night and that was about two hours I think, but very interesting. It's nice you have the other trips to look forward to later this year.
I'd better put the plates in the warming drawer now ready for lunch.

Morning Anng and all,
Nice bright sunny morning here and its 18 degrees with a high pollen count.
I need to make sure my plants on the patio are watered as I didn't do it last night. I had done a wash and forgot to put it out so that went out late last night.
Safe journey home Anng hope there are no hold ups.

They are a lazy lot here this morning, still not up at 1015. It will be a different story tomorrow.
I am sitting watching the birds on the feeders in the plum tree outside the patio doors. There are gold finches, greenfinches, several blackbirds, some young great and blue tits and we did see one bull finch. They are great to watch and all very busy.

Good morning all, sunny here at the moment and dry. Slept ok. I hate last days, especially when I won’t be up here again until Christmas (if I am invited of course),
I do have a eeek in M Keynes to look forward to and a week in the IOW.
So packing today. Having been shopping more than once means extra bags so hope it all goes in.

You have been busy with all that strimming etc Mel. Do be careful not to do too much . Like the rest of the ladies I had a laugh at bil being tied up with his tongue. I'll have to remember that one.
Thank you for forwarding AnnG's pictures Annx. Walking along the prom sounds a nice stroll with the perfume from the dog roses and watching the sea. It looked a bit choppy and I could imagine the salty smell in the air. I love being near the sea but it doesn't happen much these days.
I hope the pain in your side will get better quickly Mandy. It always seems to be a twisting movement that sets off these pains so try not to twist your body too much. I know that's easier said than done but at least it's a good excuse not to do any ironing ;-) Yes, that is a lot of money to get a lock opened. The neighbours' bungalow and our house have secure double locking devices and they recently had a new front door which they say has an even more secure lock but even so it didn't take the locksmith long to get it open. We shut ourselves out in a similar way 2 or 3 years ago and we were charged £90 which included an extra charge for a Sunday call out, so £200 does seem excessive.
This morning I made carrot and ginger soup for lunch with some for the freezer. I hadn't planned to do that but when I went to the fridge I realised I had loads of carrots and some were starting to go soft and squidgy at the ends. The trouble is that I had ordered more than I really needed and also forgot that there were 5 dinners I didn't have to cook over the last 10 days or so. I hate wasting food so decided I'd better turn them into soup before they were beyond use. We also had some big chunks of roast carrot with our dinner tonight.
This afternoon Dan the man came to finish the outside job he started for us on Tuesday when he had to stop because of the awful weather. At least today it was dry and fairly bright and warm, though still a bit windy.
I didn't sleep much again last night and have found it hard to get motivated to do anything today. I had planned to vac and dust upstairs and perhaps clean the bathroom and my en-suite but I didn't do any of that. I think I'll be going to bed fairly soon. I'll read or watch something on my iPad but if I am in bed and I feel myself getting sleepy I can just put the book down, switch off the bedside lamp and drift off. I did tell the paramedic I saw recently about my sleep problems and I see she has mentioned them in her report on the NHS app and said I am TATT which I know means tired all the time
With that I'll wish you all goodnight and sweet dreams.

Thank you Ann for passing on Anng's photos , looked a nice day for a walk by the sea , lovely blue sky and lots of waves , on the last photo the foam from the waves looks like snow on the beach .
Suns out now its the evening , its been quite a cloudy day and not very warm with the wind , I haven't done much again ,the pain in mg side has eased a bit and I think its the pain killers that are helping .
Mel I had to smile with your bil was tied up with his tongue saying , I shall have to remember that one :-D
