O dear Jane it sounds like you are in for a dirty house for a while yet and just getting over the kitchen fiasco. Wood chip or anaglipter paper was usually put on walls that were a bit uneven as they cover a multitude of sins.

I would certainly have the chimney swept as once the liner is in there it won't be able to be done.

Anyone watched Beechwood garden on the telly on a Sunday? I watched it on replay the other night.

Evening All :-)

How exciting Kim........I will be keeping my fingers crossed the new meds work. Any improvement in your energy levels would be a bonus for you I'm sure.

The doc who told OH he had Thalassaemia trait a few years ago said there must be sardine fishermen in his ancestry Jane!! lol His is the 'beta' trait, so it would be found in mediterranean areas as you say. He was told by the same doc that I would have to be checked if we had wanted children as a child with a double dose of the gene could be very ill and need lifelong transfusions. One of his parents must have passed it on to him but we don't know which!! I hoped when I researched his family I might find a mediterranean ancestor, but no luck so far!! :-S Yes, he was a bit fed up Mandy. He says his foot has been a lot better today, but it keeps itching now where the pain was. Still sounds like the nerve being irritated to me but what do I know. :-S He's decided to wait a few days and see if carries on improving.

Today we went to M*Arthur Glen retail park up the M1 and called at D*cathlon the sports place by I*ea on the way, as I wanted to look at some hiking and Nordic poles!! :-) What a choice.........in the end I chose the lightest, collapsible one with a cork handle. It was the last one they had of that kind and I'm not sure whether I want two yet, so I checked they were getting more in before I bought it. If it's fine tomorrow I might get OH to come with me up the steps to the quarry so I can 'test' it out!! :-)

Then we called in the M*S outlet. OH stocked up on pants and socks and I got 3 tops that look great.......a new delivery today the lady said . Elsewhere OH got some stationery bits and pieces. I did see a nice handbag, but left it as I tend to just use the same handbag most of the time as I can't be bothered swapping all the stuff.

Your poor friend Ruby. She won't be able to mow all that grass for a while! Yes, it is a good idea to keep a mobile with you whenever you are on your own. Some of you will remember me saying about me getting stuck in the loft on a boiling hot day when OH was over 100miles away that day and might have been staying away overnight!!I I was wishing I'd got my mobile with me that day. :-S

I remember putting woodchip on......and soaking it off again a few years later......what a mess! Ours covered a lot of uneveness like you say Mandy. I remember putting that flock paper on after. Anaglypta was all the thing when I first married. We have all smooth painted walls here. We both prefer it now with light and airy pastels and the paints are so much better these days. We have matt scrubbable ones everywhere!! I

Mandy, what are your tiles like? I often have doubts when things like that start to go on the wall, but usually things look fine when more of the work is done. :-D I didn't see that prog, but did watch the new Love Your Garden, with Alan T.

Strange Ann you haven't found a Med connection to OH.He must be a bit of a mystery lol
I'm talking about paint ,wallpaper, decorating of any form tonight.... instead I am going to settle down and watch Mrs Brown :-D :-D I'm sure the conversation will continue tomorrow :-S.But even before that happens Chris is going to try and empty our coal bunker. He has his white' Forensic' suit and mask.I am definitely going to have to get a sneaky pic of that ;-) ;-)

No David for a while......David if you are looking in I hope all is well <3

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Quite bright this morning but there are grey clouds in the sky.

Frank I think your plant in the front lawn is a tracycarpus the fan palm. Excuse the spelling if it's wrong. I meant to put that on the other day when you asked me what it was.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Jun 2013 10:47

Morning/Evening All

Ooh it's a muggy one this morning. The sun was out earlier but it' now cloudy.
.
Chris has just got his white overalls and mask ready to clear out the bunker.I think I will clear off to town for awhile :-D

Morning Flowers and the boys Evening Kim.

You are a coward Jane, going out and leaving Chris to it. He might need some help. :-D :-D

Thanks for that Mel, I will look it up. That stated off as a small pot plant, that we grew on over the years. We had a weeping tree in that spot in the lawn, but started to die off down one side. So out it came, and that went in. It seems to get bigger every year.

Very strange about you OH foot Ann. What are they planning to do with him ??

Madam has gone shopping to Morris## with Martine Has got to be home by 1.00 pm as Martine is singing at a wedding this afternoon.

Was hoping to get in my lounger this morning, but there's lots of cloud and wind, and no sign of the sun. Will have a read indoors instead.

Yes Hope David is O.K. and where's our Will. I feel like the rose amongst all the thorns. <3 <3 <3

Morning All , Evening Kim.

I was up early this morning & surprisingly we were in Morr**ons at half nine :-0 :-0

OH has a busy day ahead of him. going up to Katherine's house to get rid of the old water tank out of the loft, and then it's back down to start some work on digging and laying grit, sand, and slabs,

Victoria & family come home today , hopefully arrive in Edinburgh about 1.30 , Victoria phoned yesterday, to say they have had a lovely time in Italy but is glad to be packing her case and is ready to come home,
School is finished for the summer holls here so is Sofia's nursery , that means Victoria will probably be down more than normal because she will need to find things to keep Sofia entertained, keeping fingers crossed it's better weather and we can have a few days out. :-) :-)

Been shopping at Morris*ns this morning , they have been changing it all about in there they now sell children's clothes and where they have all the salad stuff there are new counters with all cold air blowing out of pipes!! looks like steam coming out !!! takes a bit of a time to find things now !!

More tiles going on this morning :-D so we're getting there .

Ann, i meant to ask, have you have you got the keys out from the cupboard yet ?

Yes i hope William and Carmel are ok it's been a few days now since we've heard from him .

You'll be glad to see the family home Fiona, i think the children have another couple of weeks here before they finish school for the summer .

Goodness nearly twelve i'd better get some jobs done .

Jane Report 29 Jun 2013 14:26

Back from town and the bunker is all done and now around the side of the house.James said he will stick it on EB**.Mind you I can't see many being interested ,especially in the summer.
Chris was offered help Frank from James(not me) :-D but he said there was no room for 2 plus when he looked in the bunker there wasn't a huge amount in there. He did look funny in his outfit. It was kind of see through and he only had underpants on lol Then the dark hair around his chest .I almost looked like he was wearing a 2 piece swim costume lol

Hopefully Victoria and family have landed now Fiona. You will be happy and so will they.I bet Sophia will have lots to tell you :-D

Mandy ,I always think once the tiling is done you feel as though you on the homeward strait /straight ?

The sun looks like is trying very hard to come out .It seems to be getting much brighter now..I think I'll bung some bedding in the machine while things look good.

Pat is another one who hasn't been around. We haven't heard from her since her holiday have we.

I expect Fitz will be in Plymouth now or at least well on the way.If it is nice he will be able to enjoy the afternoon up on the Hoe.It is just a few steps from the hotel he is staying in tonight Janice and I used to stay there when we went to visit Mum (when she was in the care home) ,and the view from the windows is just fantastic. You look right out over Plymouth Sound and the Hoe.Sometimes you can watch war ships coming in to Devonport, and you can look across to Mount Edgecombe(in Cornwall)
Ann will know where I mean.

I must get this washing in now so BBL

Jane Report 29 Jun 2013 17:45

That's good Fiona. You will be so relieved they are home safe and sound now.Lots of catching up to do tomorrow then :-D :-D,and you will get your little 'favour' :-D :-D

I have been in and out watching Tennis ,weeding and also watching a bit of Glastonbury. The Rolling Stones are on tonight but I don't know what time.It might be too late for me :-S,but I'll see.I bet my Nephew is having a ball there :-D.

No Mel so far today.Hope she hasn't got heat stroke from being in her Poly Tunnel. It must be sweltering in there !

I don't fancy the thought of cooking tonight ,but I'll have to as I have defrosted some Pork Medallions and Mushroom and Madeira sauce. So I can't leave that until tomorrow .Oh Well .I'm sure it will be tasty :-D
I think I might have a glass of chilled white wine now and sit outside for a bit.

Annx Report 29 Jun 2013 18:06

Afternoon All,

That's good Mandy, once they are all on and the grout done you will be able to clean the tops properly. I still haven't got my keys.....boo hoo!! :-S They asked for a contact number and confirmation of address weeks ago and I have heard nothing more. I sent them another email a couple of days ago, but will start ringing them on Monday. All the stuff out of the cupboard is still lying around in the lounge and it's in the way!! :-|

Jane, I think if I was Chris I'd want to wear something less see through!! lol. I wouldn't be surprised if you manage to sell the bunker as folk use them to store all sorts in. Your life is beginning to get like mine was a few years ago.....house stuff being done, one thing after another! Still, it is all worth it when it's done.

Frank, OH is waiting a few more days to see if his foot is a lot better before bothering to book another appointment. We went up to the quarry this morning with my 'POLE' and climbed the steps, then went across the top and back down some other steps. It was beautiful up there today as the ground at the top was carpeted all over in white clover flowers......the perfume was so strong!! He decided to wear his usual shoes today instead of some lighter wider ones he's been wearing and it seemed to set it off hurting again. He says it has settled down again though, but is sticking to the wider shoes again for a while.

We used to have one of those Trachycarpus Fortunie in the back garden for a few years until it didn't survive one winter. They are supposed to be hardy too, but we get a lot of cold wind at the back.

That sounds a good idea Jane.......think I might go and sit outside too. The Buzzards were flying earlier and screeching. There seem to be different cows and calves at the back now and I haven't seen the bull, or Istanbul as OH calls him.

Fiona, it will be great for you to catch up on the event tomorrow, little Sofia will be a right chatterbox I bet!

Jane

Jane Report 29 Jun 2013 18:49

Ann ,that's not good the company haven't got back to you to arrange to fish your keys out.You will just have to be a pain in their backside until they arrange a day :-D
We have new young cattle in the fields both sides of our road. They all look a bit lost for a while and stick together in a big huddle. When I drove down the road earlier there was a bunch of them in the field on one side right up by the roadside fence and right opposite them in the field across the road were the others all by the fence.I thought it was rather sad as i reckon they hadn't been long separated from their Mummies :-(

I'm still thinking of cooking and can't quite believe it is getting on for 7 !!!...We never ate as late as this when I was a child.......5o'clock was Tea time every day ,and Sunday Roast was at 1pm.James is getting his own tonight. He is just going to have Cold Turkey and a Salad.

Still haven't discussed decorating with Chris.Think I won't bring that up this evening lol.I bought 8 tester paints yesterday .They are all lined up on the work top in the kitchen lol.

Sorry for my absence. This PC is in a differant room some distance from where I bed down most of the time.
Travelling that distace the way I'm fixed is a pain.
Also I'm certain my system has been "got at" I'ts an old second hand one that is misbehaving.

I alternate between a walking frame and elbow crutches. The triple fixator is still very much attached to me.I have to lie on my back and its uncomfortable.

On Tuesday next I to see the orthopeadic surgeon at the fractue clinic.
I'm hoping he will admit me into the hospital again to remove, but I must wait and see.I've been doing OK at the physiotherapy.

A true amusing anecdote for you...
When the injury was new back at the beginning of March I had 2 operations and a third later.
Anyway, I was severely constipated, impacted for all that month.

A priest came into the ward and enquired "Any confessions or Last Rites?"
Silence was the reply.
Then I piped up "Can you say a prayer for this old fool who hasn't had a sh--e for 3 weeks"
I dunno what he said but the very next day I moved so much they had to get one of those rods to shift it.

I hope you are all well, thinking kindly of you all.

Nice to hear from you David, but what a pain that fixator is. I do hope there is good news on Tuesday that it can be removed. I can imagine it would make such a difference if it was removed, both with sleeping and getting around. I suppose it is good you are in a bungalow though and don't have to try and tackle stairs. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you, so let us know how things go on Tuesday if you are able.......very best wishes. <3

Oh I have had a delivery from Australia too!!!! :-D It can't be opened yet it says!! ;-)

We've both been very tired today and I've got itchy ears and a sniffly nose so I think it must be the pollen!! An early night I think and a tablet in the morning, will see what we can watch that's recorded. Nightie night.....x

Jane

Jane Report 29 Jun 2013 20:29

LOL LOL David.I'm sure you must feel much more comfortable now after shifting ( I could have said another word) ;-) all that ,that has been bunging you up.
You sound in better spirits I think .Thanks to the priest maybe :-D :-D.A few words works wonders sometimes lol

I'm now just going to watch a bit more Wimbledon, and have dinner :-D.I'm feeling pretty peckish, and I bet poor Chris is blooming starving.

Thought I would pop in, before I settle down.

T.V. has been a load of RUBBISH. So I have been on the computer since 7.30.

I watched our girl win her match this afternoon, never thought she would, after she lost the first set. She did come back well.

Ros came back from Morriso## with fresh rolls, salad and BBQ spare ribs. After easting that lot, we didn't want anything to eat tonight. I am sitting here with a cold beer and a cheese and pickle roll. LOVELY

I wanted to watch the Football tonight on T.V. but it doesn't kick off till 11.00 pm so it would be 1.00 am before it finishes, I think it will be to late for me. I might record it and see it tomorrow morning, but it's never the same as seeing it live.

Glad you are on the MOVE David !!!Hope everything progresses well for you on Tuesday.

You girls seem to have been busy with all the washing !! I have been very lazy again today. My knee has been an absolute Bast###. I never know when it's going to let me down when I am on the move. So I have sat on my lounger all afternoon while Ros has been finishing off the boarders, All done now, so she can relax in the sun tomorrow if she feels like it, which I doubt. I bet she will watch the Grand Prix. She is a racing fan.

No Will or Pat again I see. !!
