Well, it turned out that OH's extra blood tests were because his red blood cells were small and they were concerned it may indicate internal bleeding. The doc said that they had now found that it is because he has thalassaemia trait. OH said he knew that and the doc said he should have mentioned it. OH said he DID mention it to the nurse when she did the blood tests, but.......... best of all, it was this surgery that told him he had thalassaemia trait in the first place, so they obviously hadn't thought it important enough to put it in his notes at the time! Anyway, otherwise things were normal except his BP is still a bit high, so now he has to be fitted with a 24 hr monitor on Monday. I asked OH what the doc said about his foot and he said the doc had been focussed on his test results and didn't want to discuss it, saying it would have to be another appointment. :-S

Glad you all had a nice time Mandy and that the weather stayed dry for you. OH would have been straight in the food tents looking for the samples!!! lol. I haven't been to an agricultural show for quite a few years either........we said we would try and get to one this year.

I hope your stones have arrived at last Fiona. It will be all ready for your OH as soon as he wants to get on with it then.

A neighbour across the road bought 3 new sealed units for his old conservatory, (the glass had misted) then decided to have a new conservatory instead. As our bungalows were all built with conservatories the same, he came and asked if we could use them. We were quite chuffed as a few of our panes have started to mist up too so OH went across with his tape measure, just to doublecheck the sizes. Would you believe it, his panes were nearly and inch shorter than ours so they were no use!!!

I changed my mind about doing jobs today and 'swanned off' to Bo*ndary Mill at Grantham instead. :-D I managed to find 2 tops and some cropped trousers and they were selling off some jewellery clasps and bits and bobs at 70% off so I stocked up with some of those. :-) They've redone the toilets there now after revamping the rest.......very posh with birdseye maple finish doors and huge cubicles! ;-) Then I went to the garden centre at the back and got 2 more pinks, one a nice maroon colour which I haven't got. On the way back I called at M*talan and TKM*xx so now I'm worn out.

Frank, you are a devil for those steps aren't you!!!! :-0 lol. Yes, wait till you see how your knee goes on first............it will give them chance to get some different things in to see as well. :-)

I've wondered about getting one of those cleaners Jane. I had a Dirt D*vil years ago, but it was a bit feeble and heavy as well. I want something for doing my fabric settees as it's a pain getting the big hoover and attachments out and wrestling with the pipe!! I end up all hot and bothered.

Morning Lazy Bones/Evening Kim.

So typical, Silverstone weekend and rain !! The forecast is rain today, and better Sat/Sun. So they should have a good race on Sunday.

The Helicopters will be going over our village all weekend, and Sunday evening, you won't be able to hear yourself think with all the noise. If the wind is in the right direction, we will hear the roar of the cars. We are only about 6 miles from the track. The roads will be grid locked, so we won't be going out. !!

I have an unhappy bunny sitting on the SOFA. She wanted to get finished on the boarders this morning, but she has been forced to REST.

Jane/Ann, We looked around for our little Dyso# and found that Amerz## were £30.00 cheaper than other outlets, so might be good to look around before you decide.

I'm all feed and watered, showered and shaved, with nowhere to go :-( :-( :-(

Morning Frank and all , Evening Kim,

Raining here, suppose to be like that for the next few days, OH doesn't mind working in the rain as long as it's not pelting down, , he came in to late last night to do a Tesco delivery for today so we will have to do a big shop tomorrow, Victoria and family back tomorrow :-D :-D :-D, they won't be surprised to see the rain when they land in Edinburgh, Victoria has suffered a bit with the heat while on holiday so she might prefer a bit of cool weather but will be back to moaning for the warm weather in a few days time if it continues to rain all week :-| :-|

Well better get on with some washing will need to use the tumble dryer and the airing cupboard as there's noway I can hang anything out on the line.

Morning/Evening All

Ann that is really bad that OH's Thalassaemia Trait was not mentioned in his notes !!!!!!.Someone made a cock up there :-S Does he have any Mediterranean blood in his genes Ann?
So another appointment for the foot !!!!.I bet he is really cheesed off :-S

Well it is raining gently and looks like it is for most of the day.Oh well I will have to do some housework :-S :-S
But first I have to go back to the place where we are getting the new fire from and sort out a surround. Then drop Fitz's birthday card off.His birthday isn't until the 2nd but he is off to Plymouth tomorrow as he is taking the Ferry to Santander and then back again.Like a mini cruise lol I told him he should have done a proper cruise .So basically he is 2 days on board going, then on arrival at Santander he has to get off while the ship is cleaned and prepared for the 2 day trip back :-D :-D.He's as daft as a brush sometimes lol.

Hello all, good to be with you again. I haven't read the posts I just wouldn't remember everything. Health has been a problem (as usual). I'm waiting on a new treatment hopefully to come through from the US to treat my damaged DNA. The doctor who diagnosed the Gulf War Syndrome has developed a high dosage treatment for the mitochrondria in the cells with stores energy. Mine don't function as I have no energy. I sure hope this is that miracle I have been hoping for.

I guess you have heard of all our government hooha that has happened over the last few days. We have Kevin Rudd back as our PM. I don't know where this country is heading, but the path is very rocky.

Was the anniversary of my brother's death yesterday, 34 years now and he was only 32. I still feel it every year, probably because of how he died.

I hope you have some sun and heat now, it has been a long time coming. We have been having floods in NSW, some localised in my area, but not affecting us. People need to learn not to drive through flooded roadways at speed or at all.

Thank you to Ann and others for all the photos. I have enjoyed them very much and to Frank for your continuing emails. They help keep my spirits up.

Regards to all, I hope you are well and enjoying life. I will catch up with the posts when I am not so tired. Cheers. 7.52 pm AEST

Jane, I have seen these "MINI CRUISES" advertised, but don't think I would fancy spending four days on a boat with no landings. At least on a CRUSE you get time in ports to have a look round and wonder into the side streets. You can find some lovely little cafes/ bars for a bite to eat as well.

Still raining here, The skip has turned up next door, but no workmen. I suppose it will be to wet to lay concrete, and build the walls.

Poor old Ros has been lumbered with CAKE making for the Tapestry group. They have 32 women coming next Tuesday for a visit to see the Tapestries and have a chat. So tea and cakes all round. She will make a couple of chocolate sponges and a load of cup cakes. Other women will be doing some too, so I bet there will be some over for her to bring home to me !!

Bet you can't wait for tomorrow Fiona, I bet they will be pleased to see you also. <3 <3 <3

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Dull this morning but not cold. Grey skies but dry.

After watering the tunnel last night it had been raining a little and then fell out the sky. I decided it was a good time to have another go at the outside of the tunnel and get some more ligt in there as the sides were very blackish with old mould. I had a good go and removed a lot so it should be lighter on the west side now where I have the courg, butternuts and marrows and the snake was in there again yesterday having a warm up under the black poly.

Havenow picked the last of the strawberries and eaten them. Oh said they were the best he had had for years. He won't eat shop bought ones as they have been washed.

Poor Gordon, still not found out whats wrong with his foot then Ann. What a nuisance and the silly peeps who should have recorded that on his notes!

Fiona hubby back safe and sound again and ready to go on the new paving as I said before you will soon be straight now.

Frank Ros should have had a rope round you while you were up the ladder never mind about the branch hitting the fence, we don't want you hitting the fence or the ground!!!!

we had turkey breast roasted with Pieczona ham on top with bubble and squeek and roast onion last night. Now what shall I cook tonight??????????

Nothing planned for today.

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We have a possibility of storms in the forecast - temps are around 32' this week.

I am about to go visit a friend who is in re-hab with a broken foot. She is actually my daughters' MIL and lives quite close to me. She is 74 and has always been so proud of the fact that she has no health problems; still cuts their grass, which is about an acre; and still works part-time. A few nights ago she was leaving someone's house and came down some steps in the dark, and fell. Had to have surgery and was moved from the hospital to Re-hab yesterday. I went to visit the other day and her husband was there too, and they both seemed to be totally bewildered, not knowing what in the world they're going to do for the next however many weeks. We will all pull together and help them through, and I know there are services available, but she never would have dreamed that such a thing could happen to her. It's really had me thinking. Things like that can happen so easily. It is so important to be very careful. Not mentioning any names, but there's a fellow whose name begins with an F that I have in mind !!!!!!! My children are always telling me to keep my phone with me when I'm outside, so I have finally started doing that.

I have a small fig bush and it finally has some fruit on it this year. I love eating them straight from the tree. Also Mel, my crowder peas have a few flowers, so I'll send you a pic in a few days and you can see if they look anything like your purple pea flowers.

Bye for now,
Ruby.

Ruby, Who could you be thinking of "FRED" FERDINAN" :-D :-D :-D

Bit warm out there then,!! my Son is out in Spain working at present on a development of new build Villa's and apartments. The temperature out there this morning was 38 degrees. He showed me on his web cam, the blue sky, there was only TWO little fluffy clouds in the sky. His sales office is a porta cabin, with no Air Con. and from what he says that's Bloo## HOT.

Still very overcast here, with showers on and off. Still very warm though.

Green Thumb has just been to treat the lawns with weed killer and fertilizer , with strict instructions not to cut the lawns for 3 days. Roll on Monday, they need a trim. !!

Ros has gone off to Tesc#s to get the veg for the weekend. She doesn't like veg. from Morris###. Don't ask me why, the chances are they come from the same supplier. :-) :-) :-)

I spoke to soon, the sun is trying to break through, so it might dry up now.

I bet these Poly tunnels are hard to keep clean Mel, What do you use to clean them ?? SOAP AND WATER ??

When did you hear from KIM ?? I know she alright as I see her on FB when I look.

Frank

Frank Report 28 Jun 2013 15:06

Just went back on the page and found Kim's posting. Lets hope the MAGIC CURE is on it's way to you my love.

Sorry all, Meant to mention, my main source of JOKES in in Turkey for two weeks, hence no jokes. ;-) ;-) Normal service will resume ASAP.

Afternoon everyone,

Rainy day here ,that heavy drizzle that seems to really cling to you !!

Nice to see you Kim,i hope you soon get the new treatment and it works for you ,do you know how long you have to wait ?

Oh dear Ann, poor OH ,i bet he's getting fed up with going to the doctors and still no nearer finding out what wrong with his foot !!
That's badness not having the information put down in his notes.

Frank, are you hoping to be chief cake tester ? or will it just be the left overs you will try :-D
It must be stifling in that porta cabin , shouldn't think it's very easy to concentrate in heat like that.

Well the tiles are going on the walls at last in the kitchen , i'am not sure if i like them now :-S but then i'am always like that i suppose they will grow on me .

Home made Lasagne for tonight with new potatoes and salad .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Jun 2013 17:08

Mandy can't remember what colour the tiles were that you chose? It is probably because they are different to what you were used to .

Jane

Jane Report 28 Jun 2013 17:28

Afternoon everyone.....
Kim this could be exciting stuff for you.How long do you have to wait for this new medication?.Wouldn't it be just wonderful for you if it helped you with those energy levels :-D :-D

Oh Ruby your poor friend. It doesn't sound like she is the most patient of patients lol.She will want to be up and doing.
I always check Chris has his phone when he goes off on one of his long walks. The thought of him lying in a field or something with no phone gives me the willies, and also `i would have no idea where he was if he didn't arrive home.

Mandy I'm sure once your tiles are all in place and everything is finished you will love them.I can't remember either if we knew what they are like.
I have the job of deciding on a paint for the lounge now :-S :-S :-S.it is always a difficult one.The fireplace is coming out next Wednesday and the bricks knocked out r whatever they have to do.Then the recess bit will all be measured up for the hearth etc.So we will have a big hole in the wall for a week or so .As long as it can be covered up for that time I won't mind too much.

Frank,Fitz has done a couple of these trips on the Ferry from Plymouth to Santander. To be honest i think he is barking ,but he seems to just enjoy it.So 2 days to Santander,a couple of hours or so in Santander (just time for a quick meal) and then back on board for 2 days to go back to Plymouth :-D :-D.He's a funny one.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 28 Jun 2013 18:37

So have you got to have your chimney swept before they start knocking out in case any soot falls .
Do you fancy wall paper ? it seems to be the thing to have now.

Our lounge is just emulsion on the walls ,hubby keeps saying its Magnolia that we have but i know its not and when we were down the shed he found the tin with some left in and it's Barley White !!

Pouring with rain here now so no watering needed out side tonight .

Jane

Jane Report 28 Jun 2013 19:29

Mandy I hadn't thought about the chimney being swept :-SThere is a heck of a lot of soot up there.I might give them a ring tomorrow to ask.I know they have to put a liner in the chimney .But there is going to be a lot of brick dust too as they have to knock it out to make the recess .Gawd what am I letting myself in for ???
We were supposed to be going to Oxford on Tuesday for the day and having lunch at Jamies(Oliver) restaurant ,but that will be put on hold now so we can move things and clear the decks a bit ready for Wednesday.
We are already having disagreements on decorating .Our ceilings are papered, and although it is nice there are bits coming away andI know the paper has been discontinued.I want it stripped off and just painted...Chris wants to keep it :-S.But I think that will be false economy as it isn't going to last, and while we have the money to do a proper job ,I think that is what we should do.
I just told him I'm not prepared to discuss it tonight. Our walls too are papered with wood chip kind of stuff ...Well that is definitely coming off :-D.I pity whoever has that job.I just would like clean painted walls now.I can see big arguments looming:-S :-S
Moving house might be the easier option lol......When the paper comes off the walls they will need plastering I think !!!! Happy days ahead(I don't think)..Trouble is it is going to be quite a job.Fun times to come me thinks (NOT)

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 28 Jun 2013 19:59

I'd get the chimney swept , once the knocking out starts you might get all the soot coming down !!
We had wall paper on the kitchen walls ,with the paper off there was no way we could have just emulsion on the walls as they were so rough ,the landing and stair case were the same ,well the whole house was ,so that's why hubby has scimmed them all ,the kitchen being the last one to do.

We had quite a few arguments over the rooms and decorating too LOL
