Frank I would love to jhoin you for coffee but I think it is just a bit too far!!!! On the other hand why don't you all come here for coffee??
Jane why not pick some of the pea pods when they are flatish and have them as Mange Tout? you get more out of them like that with the same lovely pea taste.
Still not done anything more today. Oh is out mowing so I think I will feed the chickens their corn.
Chilli for tonights dinner, nice and easy.
Fiona at least the builder let you know so you coould go out after all. I hope you enjoyed your coffee and chat.

Mel I do sometimes pick the pods when they are flat, like you say they are sweet and tasty.Good in stir fries and salads. But the actual peas were even tastier last year.We have more plants this year as there weren't enough before :-D Yes Frank ,do let me know if you go to Beckworth again. It would be an ideal place to meet :-D.Maybe Ann could get there too. That would be nice.
Kim will be pleased to see the Prime Minister go in Oz :-D :-D I see she has been ousted.
My Nephew(Janice's youngest son ) has gone off to Glastonbury today.I am so jealous as the Rolling Stones are top of the Bill this year.Remember when my Hannah went 2 years ago and ALL THAT RAIN AND MUD.Hopefully Matthew will have a much better experience there this year.Although it looks like there might be some rain tomorrow.I think he is there for 6 days!!!! Brave lad lol Janice will be at Wimbledon tomorrow.I hope she rings me to tell what court they are in so I can have a look on the tele and see if I can spot them :-D

What time do you want us down Mel. Jane can pick me up as I can't drive.
I have an old school pal in Aus. both her and Kim said she was useless, and the Country was going to the dogs, with her in charge. What is it they say "what goes round comes around" she's got her cumupence .
Have been sitting in the garden while the soaps have been on. It's turned a bit chilly now, so I have come in.
Hope you all have a good evening.

Evening All,
Another nice and very busy day! Yesterday I got my locks shorn like the sheep and it was up early again today for the man who services our gas boiler etc. Good news there as he said it was very good. :-) Then I had to chase him up the road as he went without us paying him!! It cost £60 which didn't seem bad for the combi boiler, cooker hob and gas fire. OH had to walk up the garden for a bit when he was testing the flue etc. because he couldn't stand the pong! :-S
More washing done and dried and just the towels and shower curtain in the washer now. OH has nipped out to a meeting to do with his footie tonight. We had a nice salad earlier with our own lettuce, lamb's lettuce and cue. Jane is right about homegrown being nicer.
Mandy, it sounds like you could cut your cue off now. The mini ones get quite fat and smooth, but if you leave them too long they start to go yellow instead of grow longer. I've picked a few in the last few days, but I find they keep really well for a week or two in the fridge if you wrap them tightly in a polythene bag. Thanks for the pics of Lacey, the little poppet is showing off her toothy pegs bless her. I can't believe she's 1 already and a blue eyed blonde now, just like her sisters!!
Mel, there is no sign of the broad beans I planted either and only a couple of the french beans have made it.......well it was old seed!! The purple mangetout have purple flowers on them at the mo, so it should be interesting to see what they will be like. My toms haven't produced much flower at the bottom of the stems either, but at least some little toms are growing now. I'm positive one of the plants isn't a Gardeners Delight as it is stronger and stubbier than the other 2 plants, so gawd knows what kind of tomatoes it will have!! lol.
Frank, my 'earlies' are in flower now and I had a scrape around the bottom of one yesterday and there were potatoes a couple of inches wide so big enough to eat. At first I tend to just feel around for and pick the biggest and cover the small ones back up to grow on. I can just taste them now, steamed with a sprig or two of mint!! yumyum!
Bother.......I meant to watch the Workhouse prog and forgot!! Must see if it is on the iplayer. :-|
Maureen I think a 16GB USB stick should be plenty for you to save your wedding photos. If you have photos with higher amounts of pixels, (depending on what camera you use) they take up more space on the USB storage so it's hard to say exactly how many. My camera picturecard is 16GB and that holds over a thousand! Most computers nowadays have 2.0 ports, but I would be inclined to ring somewhere like PC *orld, tell them what your computer is and how old and they should be able to confirm whether USB 2.0 is the one you need to get to be compatible.

I'm game Frank!! ;-) Jane has whetted my appetite for Beckworth Emporium with what she has told me before!! lol. You can wear your straw hat, I like them and OH used to wear a straw fedora quite often. I have to wear a sunhat or I can end up with headaches in strong sun. I think we'd have to meet Mel halfway though......now where would that be??
OH will be off to the docs in the morning to see what his results are and to see what the doc says about his foot. We were walking around Nuneaton today and a lady just lightly brushed her bag against the calf of his leg and he got an awful pain in his foot, he says it was agony!!!! It sounds like nerve pain to me, but it will be good to see what this doc says. At least it is a bit better for driving now.
I kind of lost interest in Wimbledon this year. It happened when Nadal got knocked out. ;-) ;-)

Morning All, :-D
Dull here, but the sun is trying to come through. Jobs in the garden for me this morning, planting more radish, spinach and rocket. I never seem to get the sequence of planting little and often with them, so end up with a feast and then famine. :-S Then I shall pop to the dogs home with some old clothes for the charity shop and to have a peek at the dogs through the window. :-)
Hope you have a nice time at the show Mandy and that your shoes stay comfy with all the walking. I bet the kiddies are very excited.

Morning /Evening All No sun yet but it is trying.I rang Janice at 8 and she and Larry were well on the way to Wimbledon. It is court 1 they are going to.
Does anyone have one of these handheld cordless Dys** hoovers. The mini kind? I'm thinking of getting one. They look good for things like skirtings ,cobwebs and narrow spaces.Just wondering it it is a good idea.
The Burglar Alarm man is coming this afternoon to do the yearly service,so I better clear all the cobwebs that might be lingering around and behind the sensors .
Good luck to Anns OH today at the Docs.I hope he finds out just what is wrong with his foot. I'm off down the garden to pick another Cucumber :-D
You slipped in there Ann lol
Mandy have a great time today.Hopefully the weather will stay fine at least until you get home :-D

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Suns out here and I think it may be another nice day. I shall have to look for Janice in court one. I hope they enjoy their day there. I'm sure they will.
Mandy too a day out. I love to go to shows but find I get a headache trying to look at everything around. Then eye ache. We have'nt been to a show for a few years now. The last time I went to one was with my BIL and SIL at Camelford I think.
Ann I can never get the sowing stage right for a succession either. They say about two to three weeks but I can never remember when I sowed the first lot and never write it down.

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim
Pouring down here, just waiting for a call from the builders , they usually say they will be with you in half an hour, must remember to tell the man where OH wants the paving stones put, not on the grass but on the drive, close to the edge of the grass so OH can park the car when he arrives home tonight, will be around 9.45pm his flights due in to Glasgow about 9 but by the time he gets through the gate and walks to the car park where he left his car on Tuesday, at least it's straight down the motorway and home.
Better go and clean the cooker, been meaning to do it since yesterday, but when plans changed I didn't get around to do it.

Oh dear Fiona. Is the rain set for the day?It is looking odd here ,as if it doesn't know what it is going to do.
Mel, Janice said she has a white T Shirt with blue stripes and a green cardigan.Unless a camera is right on them it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack :-D
I just found some babies tomatoes (at last) in the hanging baskets. These are the Yellow Tumblers.Generally all our Tomato plants are totally rubbish this year :-S The ones in the greenhouse only have a couple of flowers on.I don't know whats gone wrong :-|
Coffee time for me now.I'm just waiting for a Turkey Joint to finish cooking and then I'm going to Curr**.

Late on parade today, Just couldn't get going.
Didn't sleep well again last night, was up early also. Got breakfast for us both, and I sat in the armchair in my dressing gown till 11.30 am.
Ros is doing the last bit of the boarder today. We found a "DOG ROSE" in amongst the Honey suckle, I got the long handled choppers and had it out. We now have 6 bags of cutting and rubbish and she's not finished yet.
Jane We have one of those cordless Dyso#'s Great bit of kit for us. We can nip round the bungalow in no time, and it's so light and easy to use. When you have finished with it, it hooks on the charger in the cupboard, ready for next time.
I have just fitted one of those magnetic "SNAP SCREENS" to the conservatory door. and the blasted thing has just fallen off. The Velcro strips don't seem to be strong enough. They do supply some pin things, I think I will have to use those also. (These modern contraptions)!!!
Ann, I didn't know you were a game old bird. I'll have to bring my gun :-D :-D It would be nice though to meet you, as you know I have already met MADAM JANE. once before. Half way to Mels with be Bristol way I imagine. (CRIBBS CAUSEWAY)
I will know more in a couple of weeks what plans I can make for going out, when I have seen the specialist about my knee. I doubt they will do anything with is for a few months at least, knowing what the waiting time is in hospitals.
Onwards and upwards as they say. Must go and see if Madam needs any help. Mel, I can't remember when I put my potato's in but I put them in the bags at the same time, so I can have a feel around in one of those.

One step nearer then Fiona. Will hubby do it at the weekend do you think. Would be nice to get the garden straight for the rest of the summer.
Frank are your pots showing any flowers yet as thats a good sign that they have spuds on the roots.
Started to rain here a little. Did some dead heading on the border this morning and found a few more weeds too. It is looking nice at present, the border but I still have a few gaps. Some or most of the delphiniums oh bourght my last year hav'nt come again this year and the big one I have had for years and split up has only got one that has taken and three have died.

Rain here also, I have been up the BIG STEPS. with Ros holding on like mad. The tree that died last year in the frost, has to come down. I went up there with the saw, and managed to get three branches off, and tie a rope to the high branch's so when I cut them down Ros can pull on it and stop it going over the neighbours fence. That's for another day.
Nice to have the materials all ready, for OH to start when he's ready Fiona.
Our new neighbours are having a porch built on the front. I was talking to the builder this morning ans he tell me the SKIP and materials won't be here till tomorrow. So he's had a wasted day. But dug out the footings.
Chicken casserole tonight. It's in the oven and smelling nice, I have done new potato's for a change from mash, Sweetheart Cabbage and fresh peas. There's mushroom, onions and carrots in the casserole. with a tin of tomato's Ros will have strawberry's and cream fore afters. I won't have anything.
No flowers on the pots or the cues yet bur courgettes are growing well as are the tomato's. The radish's seemed to have gone to leaf, the actual radish's are very small. Everything else in the PATCH is going along fine.

Raining here now.Just light stuff ,I doubt it will come to much but at least the plants and veg will enjoy it :-D
Frank, I went and got a hand held Dy***.I had a go as soon as it had charged up.It's charging again now lol.It will be very handy for things for certain things. I hope you get a better night in tonight.I haven't been too bad lately and seem to be sleeping quite well.I think it must be that new Mattress Topper. You wait I will have a rotten night tonight now . :-S
When the man came to service the Burglar Alarm system he warned his assistant that he would be pounced on by Chester.Little did he know that 'Little Wolfy 'as he called him was no longer with us :-(.This same man has been coming here for years and always made a great fuss of Chester so I think was sad to know he had gone.
I didn't spot Janice and Larry at Wimbledon .I was going crossed eyed and gave up :-S
