Morning/Evening All

Fiona I'm hoping the sun will break through here later on.It is warm and I am sleeveless :-D.
I'm pleased the Christening went well It sounded quite a hectic day for everyone.

It is little Willam's 1st Birthday today, and they are having a morning of opening the family presses. There were lots of gifts on a table yesterday from everyone else.

I have done a bit of ironing so at the moment it is all clear(for now). Two loads of washing to get done so it will start piling up again :-S

I hope Carmel is feeling a bit better in herself today Willliam.

Did we not see Frank yesterday????

I'm off to get a few bits and bobs and then pop down the lane to see Fitz.

Fiona

Fiona Report 24 Jun 2013 11:27

Morning Jane,

yes we are glad the christening went well, though you don't get much information from Victoria, sometimes I think she lives in a little bubble of her own. :-D :-D, but she is a good lass and I was very happy she remembered to ring us.

Happy 1st Birthday to William, he certainly is a lovely little boy, his mummy up above will looking down today so proud.of him :-) :-)

Need to get the next bit of washing in, still staying dry outside,

:-D

Morning all/Evening Kim,

Glad someone missed me THANKS JANE !!

Busy. all day long yesterday, I managed to do everything, and get it all ready for a 4.00 pm dinner. I for once, was nor hungry, and had hardly enough to keep a fly alive. But was pleased to see the others tuck in to a great meal.

Will, Do hope Carmel improves quickly. It must be a worry for you not knowing how she is going to be from day to day.

Ann, I have those walking poles, but don't use them as such. I have one (well both) adjusted to walking stick size. and use whichever one is handy to use when I go out. You do see these "hikers" using them full length, striding out across fields and paths. If I tried that I would be on my ar##. :-D :-D

I bet you will be glad to have the family home again Fiona, you certainly miss them, when they are so close to you most of the time. <3 <3

What a miserable day the weather was yesterday, it doesn't seem a lot better today.

Harvey took home some radish's yesterday, and I had potted him up a strong MINT as the one he has is very mild and struggling, in the pot, he has it in. (GOOD OLD DAD)

Lewis has made it quite clear, he does not want me going into his school to collect him next time for his dental appointment. WHAT WILL MY FRIENDS THINK having my Grand Dad coming to collect me. THAT'S ME TOLD. :-( :-( Mind you he will be Fifteen in Sept.!!!

I am hoping to get my lawns cut and trimmed later. while Ros pops to Tesc#

Afternoon all and Evening Kim,

Sunny here today and I have been busy after getting up and not feeling to good. Funny tummy but it seems ok now. Not had anything to eat yet.

I had an email from Liz this morning so here it is:-

Hello Mel,
I saw your post and am replying to let you know all is well with us! The garden is really taking off, greenhouse toms are flowering, spuds also looking good. My SIL (in France) is way ahead of us though, as of course over there it is much warmer (28c!!) although this year she has complained about the wet!! It was miserable here yesterday, but today is beginning to cheer up, so hopefully we are in for a dry, warmer week. Merlin spends a lot of time in the barn as he is a bit plagued with flies despite copious amounts of citronella being sprayed on him!! Millie is full of beans though getting very grey about the gills, just like her owners!! she has a passion for raw carrot which can get a bit of a bore as she 'shouts' at me, demanding a slice at various intervals!!
We are recording 'The White Queen', and watching A. Christie, so we've only seen part 1. We are enjoying it, and as history is my 'thing' and I studied that period at school, I am fairly up together with whose who, and the characters, bearing in mind a 'television audience' are fairly true to how they probably were; not like 'The Tudors', which was so ridiculous as to be unwatchable! The Woodville's were unbearable upstarts, which didn't help poor little Edward Vth! we shall see how it pans out!
Must away to hang out the inevitable washing!!!!
Love,
Liz xxx

Happy Birthday to Baby William. <3 <3 <3

It is my friend Di's birthday today. I think it must be nice to have your birthday on Midsummers Day.

Bit of a cold wind here today even though it is sunny most of the time.

Did the chickens nest boxes out this morning. The blimmin things are still eating eggs.

Does anyone know anything about USB Memory Sticks. I've sussed out that you can get different GB, I think that means the higher the GB the more you can store on the stick??? Do they all work on any computer?

So glad Baby William's party went off well Jane and also Matteo's Christening.

It has turned quite cold which is good in a way as I've got some cards to catch up on. Wimbledon has started, (not my thing) but it usually means rain. My lasting memory of Wimbledon was the year it poured with rain and Cliff Richard got up and sang to the crowd.

Thanks for putting Liz's e.mail on Mel, it's nice to hear from her.

Hello all,

Just wanted to thank Ann for pics. Such beautiful scenery, and everything so clean and fresh. I really didn't see much of Britain before I left home. No car in the immediate family - dad always rode a bike. Remember the carbide lamps? When dad emptied it, we would pour water on it to make it fizz. About the only time we went anywhere was in the summer when our Sunday school had an outing to the seaside. It would be either Weymouth, Bournemouth, Swanage or Sandbanks, and we loved them all. The old buses would chug their way up over Wyn Green (outside of Shaftesbury) and the pastor gave us each sixpence for ice-creams. Beaches were so crowded, but we squeezed in, and straight in to the sea. Mums would take turns watching kids while the rest went off to Woolwor**s and bought presents for everyone at home! Sandwiches, boiled eggs and crisps complete with sand; On the way home we always stopped at Blandford for fish and chips, and sang the rest of the way home. We would hang our seaweed on dad's shed door and off to bed. Wonderful carefree days.

Have been freezing squash this morning, and am now going to pick beans for the freezer. I'm freezing them in jars this year. I use the pint size mainly to freeze soup, but have bought some pint and a half this year. They have the Freeze fill line on them.

William, I do hope your wife will soon feel better. My GD has finally started with the botox injections. She said they injected 6-8 times in different areas of her head. That was Friday, and she was having a good deal of pain yesterday, so hope things will improve. The next batch will be in 3 ms.

Must get moving. Am off to the library later.
Ruby.

The sun is trying to put it's hat on :-D been on and off all afternoon lol
I forgot Wimbledon has started Maureen.I do enjoy it,but always enjoy the second week best.Janice(my sis) is going on thursday (court 1) so I will have my eyes peeled to see if I can spot her .I said if she sees the camera panning around to give a big wave :-D

Ruby I have sent an email with a pic ..hope I got the email address right.

Frank ,I can quite understand Lewis not wanting you wandering in to school to pick him up!!!!!.It remind me of one night when I went to this 'Youth Club' ,it was quite a big place and had a dance floor and I spotted my Dad coming up the stairs when it was time to go .He had come to pick me and my friends up.....I was MORTIFIED .I have to say I gave him a right ticking off and told him NEVER to do that again .Street cred goes right down the pan :-S :-S :-S.I still remember to this day how embarrassed I felt.
Poor Dad <3

Well, pleased to report Carmel is a tad better today, especially after a late lie-in (bad night). She phoned our surgery to discuss this other head injection but our 'pet' doctor hasn't got a double appointment till Friday first thing. I need to see him then too but I won't go into that.

What a windy changeable - and cool- day! I did get in the garden. Everything is going berserk and I was cutting back left and right, that was even before I could start cutting the lawn. It's our green bin this Friday and it will certainly be a full one.

Every time I start reading a post and I see 'little William' I think it's about me (don't know what bit is supposed to be 'little' but I can hazard a guess!). Then I find out it's the little namesake and I have to smile.

Evening all,

Glad to see we have heard from Liz, we do send each other Emails now and again.

Everybody seems well, so I won't dwell on that subject. !!

We had an exact replica of yesterdays dinner tonight. I didn't realise I had cooked so much. I must say I enjoyed it more today than yesterday.

Managed to get both lawns done, and while Ros sat with the tele on, I went into the garden and read the paper. Nice and warm while the sun was out, then over came the clouds and the wind got up. I was glad to get back indoors and get a shirt on.

Long lost family's tonight, I like to see how these people react when they find their relatives.

Be good and say your prayers before bed, or the bad man will come and get you. I've heard that a few times lol lol

Jane Report 24 Jun 2013 22:00

Frank ,you should have seen me and my Birth Brothers meeting for the first time in over 50 years!!!....It was the most strangest feeling. They didn't know I existed until I found them through GR.We all arranged to meet in York and booked rooms at a Hotel for a couple of nights. It was just as though we were old friends ,no awkwardness at all .One I seemed to connect with straight away ( I can't explain why)
The other ..the first thing he said when he saw me was "Oh F*** it's my Mother" !!!!!
That broke the ice lol.So we had 2 days together ,me telling them about my life which had been wonderful and them telling me about theirs which sadly hadn't been as good They told me bits about their mum(my B Mother),who had died some years before.I don't regret not meeting her.I was happy enough with my adoptive parents. But I would have loved to have been a fly on her wall at times.....especially when she was mixing with the Krays and other gangsters :-D :-D :-D

I better get off to bed .Chap coming at some point tomorrow to replace a pane of glass in one of the new windows that has a small crack. He might be here really early ! so I need to be up and ready.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Nice morning here again today. I thought it was'nt going to be as nice as yesterday so still have my shopping to do.

Oh scarified the front lawn yesterday again and blew all the rakings in a big pile like a haystack in the middle. I never thought he would get that much off of it after the first time he did it but it is surprising what is under the green bit you see!!

Morning/Evening

Mel is the scarfing (raking the moss up from the grass?)I think our lawn is nearly all moss lol.Not good I know but it's nice and springy in places :-D
Yes so sad about Mick Aston from Time Team.He will always be known for his stripy jumpers won't he :-D

Chris set out to go to Cambridge over an hour a go and he just rang to say he is stuck in a massive traffic jam.He still has a fair way to go too :-S

The sun is out but cloud too. It's just a perfect morning so far.I think it might cloud up more this afternoon.
I must hoover my bedroom before the man gets here to replace the window pane. The carpet is dark blue and looks covered in fluff :-S :-S

Second lot of washing in and nearly finished. Make hay while the sun shines and oh has certainly been doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Yes Jane but we have a rake and spiker thing that he pulls behind the big green mower. Then after raking it and leaving it to dry a bit he goes all around the lawn with the blower on the mower!! Poet and don't know it!! blowing it all into a pile then picks it up and loads in in the big trailer and he has dumped it all under my BIG oak tree. I hope he is'nt going to set fire to it under there. He is always trying to get me to have the oak cut down. I love it it is sooooooo big.

Morning All, Evening Kim.

Just watched Mick Aston in the Time Team programme last night, he was a lovely man though I always felt I wanted to take a pair of scissors to his hair, also feel the same about the Cornish fellow on Time Team (can't remember his name) who wears the hat, I bet it doesn't take him a long time with the hair-dryer like it takes me, do men with long hair use hair dryers probably just rub it dry with the towel
OH just rubs his hair , he's not got much hair anyway but when he's finished he looks like Worsel Gummige ?? :-D :-D

Not got a lot on today might pop down into town later to pay the gas bill,
OH left this morning at 6am gone to France will be back on Thursday Evening.

Need a coffee BBL

Just sitting waiting for Ros, I decided to put Chas and Dave on You tube. ALL the old songs took my back 60 years. Dancing to Lonnie Donegan when he played with Chris Barber and his band. On a Friday night over a pub in Wood Green, the walls would be soaked with condensation, and the floor bounced to all the dancing (JIVE) I've been singing away to myself, with feet and hands tapping to the music. Oh to be 15 years old again, and know what I know now.

We are off now. See you.

Frank

Frank Report 25 Jun 2013 14:33

I'm back, not much lighter in my pocket. Bought Ros three plants and three for Jan, can't leave her out. :-D :-D :-D

It's the first time I have been there. You could spend a fortune on all the beautiful pots and planters, and another fortune filling them with the wonderful plants and shrubs .

It was very busy there, people all ordering food and drinks. I just had a coffee, and the girls had some frothy coffee and cakes.

I can see why you like it over there Jane. We could have meet up this morning ;-) ;-)

Now down to my shorts, and sitting in my lounger with my book. Ros is weeding the stone chipping area down by the greenhouse. It's covered in marigolds and poppies

Back to the sunshine now, IT IS A HARD LIFE <3 <3 <3
