Ahh Fiona thats nice to send home favours. They will all be home soon and you can have your lovely {{{hugs}}}
Jane you should know what Squabs are as you have wood pigeons in your garden.
Frank you watch it on those steps. I hope Ros keeps her eye on you if you are going up to great heights. You ought to have a safety net or a safety harness with your record of tasks on steps!!!!!! BE CAREFUL PLEASE!!!!!! :-|

It is a shame you can't be there for Matteo's christening Fiona, can't you have a little blessing or something at your church when they are back and I'm sure they will take lots of photos for you. The favours is a nice gesture, my son opted for a donation to cancer research in memory of my mum and a very good friend of his instead of favours at their wedding.
Have got family and friends coming tomorrow ........... please don't rain ............. and Saturday I will have my labourers hat on as it's back over to son's house, this week we will be pulling down ceilings :-0
James and Jess deserve a little holiday after all that studying Jane, I hope they like hot weather, Greece is usually scorching. We had a very hot sunny day yesterday, was even too hot for me to sit in the sun, has rained a bit today and it is still very muggy, got a feeling a thunderstorm is on the way.
Mind how you go up that ladder Frank.

Well, here I am, still in one piece. When I got to the job in hand. The hole would not take a new wall plug. The hole was too big for some reason, so I had to drill the wall in another place. It's finally up and Ros has cleared all the mess I made. The curtains are back. At one time I was frozen to the steps, "shaking all over" (ELVIS) I was finally able to relax myself and get down the steps.
I have had a strong coffee and a sit down with my book for an hour.
It's as black as your hat here, but so stuffy. Ros is doing a bit more on the boarder, she tries to do a bit when she can.
I had my new tree arrive this morning "GLEDITSIA" It's in beautiful condition, and now in a bucket of water to get a good drink, before my attempt to put it in, just down from the one that died on us last winter. It's over 6 foot tall, so will have to get a good stake in the ground to stop it blowing about in any wind. I have to cut down the old one. Ros want's me to leave a good trunk on it so she can put a nesting box on the top.. If all the nesting box's get used in the garden, nobody will have any birds around next spring :-D :-D :-D I think we have 9 at the moment..
Fiona, When do you expect the family home ?? I bet it seems a long time, since they went. <3 <3 But all their little ((((HUGS ))))) will be with you before you know it.
How's Grumpy Pants this afternoon. I hope you haven't been upsetting him anymore.
When Ros and I get started, I just say "GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE" Which she does It saves things being said, that you regret later. ;-) ;-) ;-)
So Jane you have the KIDS till this evening, is he taking your car, or will they get the train. ??
Ros is doing a chicken curry tonight, so I can have an evening off. I'm sure you enjoy your meal better, when someone else has cooked it !!

Maureen, we are having a family dinner together when the family get back from Italy, As to a blessing in my church, the children are being baptised in the catholic faith like their dad, My church is Church of Scotland, Sofia was baptised at their local Catholic church 3 years ago, since then there has been changes in the priest and as the family don't go to Church regular , this present priest would not baptise Matteo. So that is why the Christening is taking place at Daniele's mothers church in Daniele's home town.
Frank,Victoria & family will be home on the 29 th June, can't wait for the (((hugs))) :-D :-D
Too hot for me to sit out at the moment ,came inside for a cold drink and a sit in the breakfast room. OH is chasing flies around the room, hates them more than any other insect.

Fiona ,I'm sorry you feeling a little low today and hope tomorrow will be a better day. It will nice to have something from Matteo's Baptismo.I remember when I lived in Greece going to a Christening and being given a little ceramic babies bootie with a little net bag of sugar almonds in the bootie and it was tied with a blue ribbon.
Maureen I think that was a great idea of your son to have donations instead of having favours..I do think all these favour things for weddings gets a bit much.I know when my niece married she contacted one of the big perfume people and they donated free miniature bottles of perfume and Aftershave for the wedding guests.I think it was about 140 altogether !!!!.I thought that was a brilliant idea of Rachel and she didn't have to pay a penny lol
It is raining :-D :-D.Not much to speak of really so it won't make a difference to the garden unless we have some really good heavy rain. The little baby Great Tits have been squeaking and squawking all lined up in a row on the branch with the coconut ,being fed by Mum or Dad.They are so funny because as they make the noise they kind of shiver and shake at the same time. It's so cute.
Just had a call from the delivery van for John Lew** to say they are half an hour away .This will b e Williams Birthday Present.I was worried it wasn't going to get here before we go to his Birthday party on Sunday. It is called a Bubble Bouncer !.Bit like a mini trampoline I think, with a handleto hold on to.It just gives a gentle bounce.Well I hope it does ,as he is only just standing and holding on to furniture .Just like Lacey Mandy :-D
Well Mel ,you have taught me something today.I never knew baby Wood Pidgeons were called Squabs..What a funny name .It quite suits them.
FRANK !!!!! are you still in one piece?????
EDIT........James and Jess aren't going now until tomorrow :-S :-S

A year gone already Jane, the older I get the quicker the time goes, I know I've said it before but I would love to be 40 something in my 60 something life.
The good thing about having people over is I've got to get this house cleaned, haven't made a start so I'd better get moving.

Glad you are safe Frank.I've been wondering all afternoon :-D James is driving. To get a train would cost a bomb, plus changing in London. But before getting to Jess's home in Chislehurst they have to go to Canterbury Uni to pick up extra tickets for her Graduation.I think it is dreadful that they don't post them. All that petrol :-S :-S.But Jess will give James the petrol money for that.So yes one more night with them both. She is going to cook for the both of them ,but I have said they will have to wait to use the kitchen until I have finished with it.The mess will no doubt be horrendous lol
There is not a breath of air here, and it almost looks slightly misty and I have a banging headache.I wish we could have a good old storm. Grumpy pants is not bad today. It is me now lol(not really). I'm having Pizza tonight ,Chris is having his bit of fish and whatever ,,,and heaven know what Jess is cooking.I daren't ask. Nowt to do with me :-D
Maureen have I missed why you are having guests or it is just a get together? Not being nosey you realise ;-)

Just a little get together Jane. Any excuse to pig out and open a few bottles of wine. Never got on particulaly with my sister-i-l years ago but we have had a few of these get togethers and I really like her not at all like she used to be or perhaps we have both mellowed over the years. At least they clean up the kitchen when they've done, just don't go in there ;-)

Just finished having the fridge out and a good clean. I hate that job but it was getting so that I could'nt get anything else in there. Threw away a couple of things and now I have nearly a whole shelf free. There was a cider box in there with a dribble in the bottom. That has gone in the wasp traps.
We have alot of those around the orchard. Jam jar and lid with a hole made in it with a screwdriver, drop of beer or cider and a blob of jam. Never fails, flies midges gnats wasps and hornets plus some other strange looking things which I don't know what they are called. They have a long body and wings and look a bit beetle like.

Mel my 2 fridges need a good clean out too :-S.I had water coming out of the bottom of one which I kept soaking up with thick kitchen paper. It was the drain slot thing at the back (a little channel where the moisture runs down) and it was blocked with gunge .I got a cocktail stick down the hole and had a wiggle about and it's all clear now :-D My neighbours (the ones with Meg) have loads of jam jars hanging on the Plum trees to catch all the wasps etc.Works a treat.
Hi Shirl.I hope those floaters don't hang around too long after your injection. Oh my !!! the rain is tipping down now.I'm keeping the windows open as it is coming straight down and not getting in the house.
Maureen I think we all mellow a bit as we age.I know I have.(well I think so :-D)
Little Williams other Grandma has been to visit him today. She really only goes to Cheltenham to see her other Grandson. But at least she is at least showing a bit of interest.I think since Jo died(Williams Mummy) that side of the family will gradually disappear .I think that is so sad. I can hardly hear now the rain is so heavy. It sounds so good :-D.....Chris watered some plants just now lol

We had stair rods this morning but it has been very very fine drizzle most of the day. It looks misty out there but it is just moisture in the air.
I just took a little pressy in to next doors little boy, George, I bought him a pair of drinking glasses in Mo**isons on Monday as I could'nt resist them. George loved them and had to have a srink while I was there to see if they worked and they did and then he wanted another drink!! He is just coming up 5 and starts school in September.
They were oly £1 but well worth it. He went cross eyed trying to look at the drink going through them.

The heavy rain seems to have passed over for now and the air is a little fresher (for now).I just spotted the Green Woodpecker on the lawn :-D.I haven't seen that one in quite a while.I think the bugs and worms must have come up to the surface after the rain,so a big feast :-D I am going to turn off the pooter soon so will say Night Night for tonight xx

Feeling brighter today, extra medication must have kicked in. It's just missing the kids and knowing I am unable to go to a big family occasion, anyway I't won't be long till their home.
No sun here at the moment , much cooler.
just notice that there is a big lump of hard skin forming on my wrist where it lies on the mouse mat, think I will have to pop down to cur**s or maybe Arg*s, OH says you can get mouse mats with a wrist rest( try saying that fast :-D :-D)

Morning all/Evening Kim,
Just out of shower, and getting ready to get dressed in my Funeral suit. It's my dark blue one from when I was at work. I only every wear it for days like this. My black ties are over the bar where my trousers hang. Hope I won't need it again for some time.#
What a dark horrible morning it is. :-( :-( Low cloud and hardly a breath of fresh air. Looks like being a right wash out for the longest day.
We will go straight from the funeral to pick Lewis up, as he has a dental appointment in Northampton at 3.15 pm. We will have him for the weekend. NO CRICKET I promise. Harvey and Julia will collect him Sunday. They are coming to dinner.
We have bought a whole leg of Lamb, as Harvey can't eat Pork (Lewis's favourite) but I know he likes lamb as well.
Will pop back later.
