I am trying to find any information on my Great Grandmother Catherine Young born c1831 in Newcastle. Her father was Edward Young and he was a Cooper. Catherine married Robert Menham on 14th October 1849 in the Parish Church of St. John, Newcastle. They had children Margaret 1849, Robert 1853, Isabella c1855 & Mary Jane c1858. The family then moved to London (Isle of Dogs Poplar) and the name seemed to change from Menham to Mennen on th 1861 census to Mannan on the 1871 census and by 1874 the name was Manning. Changed probably because of their accent to the Londoners. Any help on this family would be appreciated. |
