Hi I'm trying to find information on my fathers family his name is Robert Winton, born in Glasgow 11/09/1933 he is the eldest of several brothers and sister their names are Henry, Billy, Elizabeth(Betty), Christine(Chrisie) and Jean. Their Father my Grandfather's name was Ralph Winton born around 1910? he also had brothers and sisters by the names of Robert, William, Jackie(john)?, Kathleen possibly Jean or Margret Jackie believed to have emigrated to America. The family are believed to come from Elgin then moved to the Glasgow area. I don't know any more beyond this all my searches have been fruitless if anyone has any information please get in touch Caroline

Hi Caroline
Have you tried the Mormon records or the GROS site for information? Scots origins, Scotland's people are also helpful. (At least I think that's what they're called!)
My mum was a Winton, but her father was originally from Edinburgh. We've managed to make contact through this site to her cousins and to distant relatives in Australia.
Good luck
Lorna
