I am researching Rachel Evans (married name Williams) of Llansawel who was my grandmother. She died on 23rd Dec 1924 when my father was an infant and his father, Rees Williams of Troedrhiwronen Farm, died when my father was 3 years old. I really wish to find their burial place(s) but so far have been unable to do so.
Rachel was born at Llansawel c1896. Her parents were William Evans of Llanddewi Brefi, Cardiganshire and Rachel Davies of Talley. She had 2 brothers, Daniel and William and 4 sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Anne and Ruth. Ruth was born in 1888 at Ty-Hir, Eskernant. This I believe was the long house that was situated alongside the Chapel.
Rachel died at Twrdu the ruins of which are situated on Trewaunisaf Farm, Llansawel. In 1881 census, Twrdu was occupied by William and Margaret Davies who I believe to be relatives of my Great Grandmother Rachel Davies.
In 1923 Rachel and Rees were at Cwmcanol Farm, Crugybar, Conwil Caeo where my father was born. The farm was occupied by Henry Davies who was the brother of my Great Grandmother Rachel Davies.
After my grandmother, Rachel Evans' death in 1924, Rees Williams (my Grandfather) died at Nantgwasanaeth in the parish of Conwil Caeo. The 1901 census shows Nantgwasaneth to be a dwelling occupied by Thomas Jones, Blacksmith and his family.
Rees was the son of Thomas Williams of Troedrhiwronen Farm at Myddfai and his wife Hannah Davies. Rees had a twin, Griffith and also older sisters Ellen, Sarah and Hannah and an older brother David.
If anyone can help in this matter I would be very grateful. If anyone is researching the same family it would be good to hear from you.
