William Wells bc 1834 in Sunderland was the ships carpenter. William was married to Mary Smith from Westbury in Wiltshire bc 1838. I found the record fro 7/04/1861 for William on the McDonnell. I also think that Mary was in the workhous in Wesbury - so it is a mystery as to how she married a ships carpenter in Sunderland? Any help gratefully received. |
