I am tracing my wife's family tree of Harris. I believe my wife's family arrived from England in 1840 landing at Adelaide South Australia. Their names were Peter Nicholls Harris and his wife Selena. They were on board a ship named the JAVA which left England in February landing in Australia mid 1840. They soon had a son named Peter Bown Harris in August 1840. He died in November 1872 but apparently had at least one son named William Harris, DOB unknown. William had at least one son Peter Harris and he had four children, one of these being my wife's father, also Peter.
