i am trying to find a mabel emily wickham born 1895 ,i do not know where she was born , her fathers name was herbert g wickham in 1918 he was serving in egypt. she got married in 1918 at Great Wakering church essex england. to a William Gregory, she had a son in 1919 also called William, she died in 1932 at just aged 37. and is buried in Great Wakering churchyard
regards Shirley i have found some mabel Wickhams but do not know if any of them are the right one as i do not know where she was born.if anyone can help me or offer any advice i would be very grateful as i have been looking for a very long time

I found that one Ann but can't find a birth to fit the girl in Maidstone.

My reply has gone AWOL! Liverbird, the Emily may come in as she went by her middle name as a lot of people did. The only Wickham c1895 -/+1 living with a father Herbert.

Liverbird - that Mabel Wickham you found in 1911 has the "wrong" parents ( Harry and Alice).

She must be the Emily in 1911 with parents Herbert and Maud??
, but on her marriage and death she's just recorded as Mabel ??

How strange ladies, I always go down that road when all else fails, simply that my mum, nan and me.....all our lives were known by our middle names..........however when it came to official docs we all reverted to our correct given name, which is what you would think would be the norm!

thank you all for looking for mabel wickham ,i had found most of them , the one when she is down as emily is the one i think is the nearest , she is my grandmother, , but my parents divorced when i was young and my father went to Australia (her son) so i never had chance to ask him about her
i have got their marriage certifcate also her death certifcate, but nothing about her birth. i live in Great Wakering where she is buried and on the grave she is down as Mabel Emily

nothing on the cert about siblings only fathers name witnesses were my grandfathers brother and wife who of cause are long dead

On the 1911 original Emily is still listed as born in Maidstone. Eight children born, six still living then.I still can't find the birth reg of Emily anywhere.
