Find Ancestors

Looking for my great grandmother Emily Weston born 1861 in Lane End Staffordshire. Married John Williams in 1878. They had several children, including my grandfather, Miles Williams. They ended up living in Ystradyfodwg Glamorgan in Wales. I would appreciate any help in finding the names of her parents.

Sorry. Emily's husband's name is Richard. His father's name was John. Richard was born in 1855. Thanks for the info.

Can't see their marriage.......... can't see Miles birth.

I had figured this might be their marriage, not quite when one would have expected. ;)

But that was when we were told that the husband was John.

It would be nice, Georgina, if you would just give all the info you have, to start with, such as Miles's date or year of birth, even if approximate, as long as you say.

Miles was born in 1878 in Waldridge, Durham. According to his marriage certificate it was 1878, however, some of the census forms make it 1879. The 1891 census makes it 1878.

No Miles Williams (or Weston) born in Durham County 1877-1879 .. or a couple of years either side.

I don't think you are badgering me at all. The information I got came from a cousin. Her grandmother was Miles' younger sister Mary born 1895. However, since I could not find anything out about Emily with the info she gave me, I was begining to think she had it wrong & now it would appear that she was very wrong! Why am I not surprised. I never could figure out where she got the Weston surname! She also came up with several wild tales about Emily. None of which I believe.

Although her name is Leila in 1891 it is actually Letitia.

So annoying that the info you have been given is incorrect, but that's what tends to happen with families, best to stick with certificated documentation and then you can't go wrong like the other person has.
