Find Ancestors

Hi,ya, i've been looking for descendant's of my grandfather's children from his first marriage , his name was George Westall
1874c Lambourn Woodlands Berks M Annie Matilda Hunter 1880-1907 Hungerford Berks they had six daughters Jane 1900,
Amelia 1901, Olive 1903, Eva 1904, Annie 1905, & Emily 1907.
The only one i knew was Annie ,she went into service but later returned to the area where she married but had no children due to marrying late in life. As for the others i can't find any trace. You have been a great help to me in the past so any help you can give me will be great Regards Jenny

I wonder if you are searching Ancestry rather than freebmd? Both have their good points but up till 1940 or so I feel Freebmd is the place to start as I find Ancestry a bit "picky".

Yes i'm sure there was a Jane Westall as on the 1901 census she was 4mths living with her parents George & Annie ,also living with them was Annie's mother Ann Hunter 61yrs at Green Rd Lambourn Berks

Hi Jan i've just found a copy of the 1911 census & you maybe right as there is no mention of Jane or Emily. Amelia Jane is 10yrs Olive is 8yrs Eva 6yrs Annie 5yrs also living there is George their father 36yrs & Sarah Prior 40yrs with her two children Joseph 9yrs & Ruth 1 yr .
Sarah was George's house keeper who later became his wife my Grandmother Ruth her daughter died at the age of 15yrs. George & Sarah had 4 children together Gladys, George,Alice & my Dad Ernest .

Hi Victoria, your info on Emily is correct she was a boarder in Bury St Edmunds & was know as Gladys Emily then . The marriage for Eva i think may be wrong as she was Eva May & the two marriages found were Eva K & Eva V Westall , Jan found these for me
Gladys Westall who married Fredrick Johnson was my Dad's full sister , not from his Dad's first marriage .
Annie Matilda married Ernest Barrett & lived in Aldbourne Nr Marlborough wilts they ran a bakery she is the only child i knew from my Grandads first marriage .
