I am tying to find family of Annie Wells born 1920 in Bartley, New Forest.
Her father was Frederick James Wells married a Lamb 1898, I believe Annie was one of four children.Annie married in 1938 to a Harvey Osman. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

so their births are rather late for an 1898 marriage ???

Have you got one of the birth certs for the mums full name. Mum may have been married before as WW1 was just before the elder childs birth.

I have just looked at all Wells born in Bartley on the 1911 census and there are several families all gypsy living in the forest. No Frederick though.

Do you mean Frederick was born 1898 or married 1898. On first reading looked like married 1898.

It would help if you could give a little more detail.
Frederick James Wells does not appear to come from Bartley and theif are no lambs in there in 1n1911. You do no give a first name for her.

I have marriage certificate of Annie wells to Harvey Osman date 1938, her father is named Frederick James Wells.
I have found a copy of her birth certificate and he is named James Wells her mother is named Emily Wells formerly Lamb. I would like to find any one that might be part of this family. My Exhusband did tell me that he was from gypsy family. So was James and Emily from Bartley in the New Forest ?

Well that gives a bit more help. Funnily enough I was in the New Forest today and visited Paulton theme park. There is a small country life exhibition and there was a photograph of 2 Osmans who were gardeners there.

I have just found several Emily Lambs in Hampshire and at least to were gypsies. I am tired now but will have another look tomorrow.

As I said there is more than one possibility for both of them so a little more info might help narrow it down.
Is 1898 the birthdate for Frederick James and if so how accurate is it?
Do you know of siblings. He may have been born in Hampshire but not Bartley. There is no Frederick or James of that birth year born c1898 in Bartley

SAme for Emily,
Any extra details would be helpful. How old were they when they died? etc.
