I am trying to find any information on the Welland family from the Hanwell area of London. We have Frederick c1887 (Fred) who was married in Brentford in 1921 and he had a brother Walter (Wally). All we know of their family is that their fathers name was John William Thomas Welland (a painter by trade) and that he was still alive at the time of his son Fred's marriage. He lived in an area called 'The Slip' by the locals in Hanwell (Wilmot Place). Family story seems to hint that John WT Welland's parents came to Hanwell as the first 'travellers' to be housed in the Ealing area! Not sure how true this is. Sadly we have no names etc to go by. We have no further information at all. If anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated. |
