Find Ancestors

i cant find william at all i looked in the 1891 census and could only find his wife sarah maiden name unknown there was no mention of william and it didnt say where sarah or her children was born,
their son george was my great great grandad he was born in 1875 and married jessie arrenberg i found out loads about the arrenbergs im now just stuck on the webbs ive been told the webbs are a big family i just cant seem to find william i dont no when he was born got married or died any help would be much appreciated as im going nuts thank you very much
george was born in london so i asume william was as well

hmmmm very strange im now wondering if this william is my great grandads farther if catherine died or they divorced and william then married sarah and thats why ive found her info or knowing my family is this william another part of the family,
i only say this because on the arrenberg side the name jessie is used alot with mums daughters and neices all very confusing lol

Divorce was pretty much out of thequestion for the working classes in those days
I would think this is rather a case of mistranscription of Sarah Ann for Catherine -the wives for 1871, 1881 and 1901 are all the same age and apart from 1871 the same place of birth,the earlier 1871 place of birth would be more likely (Bermondsey) asmemories faded the later you got
the mystery is where are they all in 1891?
I have tried using just first names and year and place of birth but found nothing
Cant as yet find a marriage for Wiliam to a Sarah Ann but will keep trying

wild stab in the dark but could the reason why william webb isnt on the 1891 census be because he was in prison or something????
i dont no how to go about finding out if he had been in prison or not any ideas are welcome gillian and glitter babe helped loads and think have been stummped by my family their not easy to find lol

He would still appear on the census even if in prison and it is not just him but the whole family who are missing!
