JOSEPH JAMES WARD. Married ELIZABETH GIBSON. Elizabeth had been a court dressmaker to Queen Victoria’s court. It is not known where she lived prior to marriage.
Joseph worked in the leather trade for the whole of his working life. Many years, with a company called Pentons in Pentonville. He had a liking for alcohol and although he earned good money, he drank it away as fast as he earn't it.
After he left Pentons, he travelled in leather goods and was for a time, manager of a shop in Kingston Upon Thames. He died in Norwood, Canada in 1941, where he is buried.
Elizabeth outlived him by thirty years and died at the age of 94. They immigrated to Canada to escape the unemployment in the 1930’s after their family had all grown up and left home.
Elizabeth returned to England after his death in 1941 and was cared for the remainder of her life by her daughter Edith. (Edie). She is buried in Highgate cemetery.

JOSEPH AND ELIZABETH had seven children. Five boys and 2 Girls.
