I feel that I have researched my family history thoroughly, however, recently another relative told me she feels that I have got my Grandma Jane's info wrong and I can no longer afford Ancestry.co.uk to check things out. Is there anyone who could check the folowing |

When you say you have the right Jane Walsh do you mean you have traced a particular Jane Walsh back, her parents and ancestors. But we don't know what you have found. |

wow thank you everyone for all your help.I really am amazed by your kindness. Kucinta , you are amazing Ihave been trying to get the dates of birth of my Dad Joseph's brother and sister for a long time from a relative and now I know them. My Dad died when I was six and it was only two years ago that I found out the name oy Grandma and that I am of Irish extraction. I know I am being very cheeky asking but would there be any chance that you could find out the details of the two children that died. I didn't even know that Dad had two other siblings and it would mean so very much to me. |

Also I had been under the impression that all Dad's siblings were born in Heckmondwike, however the census entry you have Kucinta shows places like Batley and liversedge - does that mean that they were born there rather than Heckmondwike |

Before 1911 the mother's surname is not shown in the births index so it is not possible to pinpoint births to any particular couple |

Sorry Chrissie, I wasn't meaning to ignore you earlier, I was just so thriled with the information that I did receive which answered my query. Simply that I had the right Jane Walsh in my family tree. I did not know of the website that you mentioned , so thank you. I need no longer bother people on here. Thank you again for your interest in my query |

Chrissie Re:- above message. I have quickly scanned through the BMD website for details of the Brearley siblings but have found nothing, which was disappointing. Also I imagine that I would not be able to find the names of the two children born to my Grandma that died before 1911 without using a site such as Ancestry.co.uk. Also Chrissie, no I don't have my grandparents birth ertificate all my research was done on Ancestry.co.uk. I would like to thank you for finding details of my Dad Joseph E Brearleys birth as it confirms that he was born in Heckmondwike , as I thought. |

Susan, the only way to be sure that you have the correct Jane is to buy her marriage certificate which will give her father's name and occupation. Then you can look at census records on Ancestry to try to identify her with her parents. You then need to buy her birth certificate. |

Thank you everyone. I do have the right Jane and I am sorry that I did not manage to explain my question in a clearer way. As I said I have spent a lot of time researching and was sure that my details were correct. I can now see the discrepancy with my relatives details comes from differing information in the various census |
