Looking for Wadwell's anywhere. This is my maiden name and from what I can make out it is pretty unique. I have had a lot of help from two newly discovered relatives who have kindly given me the benefit of their research. The name seems to have been concentrated around the Peterborough area from the early 1700s. I have also discovered Wadwells in Kent prior to the Northhamptonshire dates (back to about 1619) I suspect prior to this date there were other spellings eg Wodwell, Waddwell, Wedwell. Some branches of the family found their way to London area. The Essex Wadwells came from Woodnewton, some others also seem to have came from around the town of Peterborough, some may have come from Canturbury where I have found the earliest records. Any comments or contact from Wadwells anywhere more than welcome! Linda Temple (nee Wadwell) in Rosyth Scotland. There are also lots of Wadwells in Australia, who descend from around Peterborough, and US(not researched yet!) - seems like most of us emigrated!
