My g.g.grandfather was called BYRON TURNER married to ANNE ELIZABETH. Byron was a Lay Preacher in Mablethorpe Lincs around 1880's. They had five children Mary Elizabeth Turner born 1881 (my g. grandmother) married in Batley. W. Yorkshire. William (had 15 children and moved to a sheep farm in Australia in later life) Nellie (Moved to Grimsby) Emily Alice (had shop at 4 Neatby St. Normanton, West Yorkshire) Byrron moved to Normanton around 1890. Mary Elizabeth went into service at the Lord Nelson pub in Batley where she met and married EDWIN HELLIWELL. They had twins which died in infancy of jaundice Edith Helliwell born 1907. married BERNARD LEE of Sheffield Ted Helliwell born 1909 married Violet Garnet Jim married Annie, widowed then married Dorothy and moved to Gt. Yarmouth Cliff married Marjory Harold married Mary Bailey Edith and Bernard settled in Batley and had two childrem Jim born 1930 married Doreen Woollin Betty born 1932 (my mother) married Harry Barrett of Dewsbury. Can anyone else trace thes same ancestors as I cannot go back any furher than BYRON TURNER on this side of the family |
