can anyone help please i have a 1901 cesus record for fred toft and marion toft sons are arthur, fred, george, james s, john w, daughters are margret, edith a, lived at 22 wilson street mexborough doncaster south yorkshire, what i would like is to try and find what marion toft's maiden name is please i cann't get any further with my family tree thank you

Hi Lisa
When I searched for Fred and Marion getting married I put "soundex" on as nothing came up for them on TOFT-- as it was so easy for names to be misspelt --( and still is)
However if you don't think this is the right couple for you thats OK. The easiest way to find Marions Maiden name is to send for one of the childrens birth certificates.
You can answer on your "thread" in "trying to find " by clicking on the purple Reply button on the top of your thread.

edith was born edith annie toft in 1889 doncaster south yorkshire but just found out her mother marion was born staffs pelsall not sure where that is
I have replied that I have posted Edith birth ref and her cert will give mmn ,Also advised to use the mauve reply box rather than clicking on a name and sending a PM so that others can see the info too
