How can I find out more about Ethels father Thomas, his date of birth etc where he was born etc without having a birthdate for him?

Also on the 1911 census which Jonesey has put up Ethel is registered as a 1907 birth. I have her cert. she was born August 11th 1906?

Census returns give an ESTIMATED year of birth based on the AGE at the time - 4 - which is on the census.......she would not have had her 1911 birthday when the census was taken.

For THOMAS.......the 1911 gives his birth year as c1868........birthplace Sunderland.

Either look for him in 1881 which is FREE...or find his marriage on freebmd and buy the cert to find out the name and occupation of his father
