Dad's family came from County Mayo, Ireland and first moved to Liverpool, England before WWI then settled in the Ashton-U-Lyne/Mossley area. Grandad Joseph married Grandma Hannah and and 8-10 children (last stillborn twin girls). Brothers Herbert, Sidney, Joseph, Harold, Richard, John plus. Dad married Elsie Wilson in 1937 and had two children in England, moved to Australia around 1950 and later had me, Maureen. Uncle John and Dad were the only children who could write. John had passed when dad moved to Australia so the brothers didn't remain in contact with dad. No word since emigrating. Love to find my family members and complete my family tree for my two boys and myself of course. Cheers, Maureen PS: Have a little more info on some of the uncle's wifes' names and childrens' names but not much. |
