The above mentioned lady was born in Longforgan, Angus on the 17th June 1899. During WW1 she became a munitions worker in Dundee area. In 1916/17 she is believed to have had a relationship with a soldier James High Spence who originated from Montrose, James was killed in action in Flanders and it is thought never knew my mother who was born 30.04.1917. She was born at Gotterston Farm Cottages, Broughty Ferry,(now believed to be an industrial estate) I am trying to trace my grandmother whose family went off the radar in 1936. It is also now thought and this is more likely that she went to Canada in 1923 leaving from Glasgow. She may have married prior to this event.
