The easy way to find the various tips messages is to put "posting tips" in the search box on the left of the Trying to Find board.

If I shamelessly nudge my own tips posts from time to time (or if somebody does it for us), they will appear at the top of the results list.

(I think the posts on this particular board that have people's own names as the subject lines are old, old posts that have been converted to the new system. Unfortunately, other people may see them and follow that model ...)

For people like me, who like to look at the boards for current posts, it would be really helpful if you could put the family name and area in your heading rather than your own name. It's so much easier to whittle down the posts that might interest me. I'm sure others feel the same too.

Please take advantage of these tips that can help you get the most out of requests for assistance.

To read them:

1. Click on TRYING TO FIND on the left side.

2. (only if you see "remove this filter" over on the left side: click on REMOVE THIS FILTER)

3. Under SURNAME FILTER, type in the box: POSTING TIPS -- and click SEARCH.

4. Soak up the wisdom collected from all the "NEW POSTERS, PLEASE READ" threads that people post from time to time here, but few people ever see. ;)

And when you've finished reading the tips of interest to you,

5. Click on REMOVE THIS FILTER to return to the general Trying to Find board.
