I have a death certificate for my grandfather's uncle Christopher Higgin who died in July 1903 in Stockton on Tees. The cause of death is drowning and the certificate states that an inquest was held - is the local newspaper archive my best source of information? |

Yes, try the local history library for old copies of the local paper. |

I asked for a similar look up in a different part of the country, it only cost £7 (I think) for 15 minutes look up,As I had the inquest date, it only took that and they sent me the photocopies from the newspapers |
