Find Ancestors

Please could someone look at the 1841 census for Peter McIntyre who was, I think, born in Liverpool early 1820's. I have his marriage cert to Isabella Carr Oct 1849 both of full age. His father was John a farmer. Her father Stephen a teacher of navigation.
Peter was living in Frederick St and Isabella in Duncan St.

I would like to find information about Peters parents, Dates and places of birth and if he had any siblings.

If possible could later censuses be checked as well?

The closest one for Peter is a 15 yr. old but born in Ireland. He's not with family.

Yes, I have that one. It is Peter who is being elusive.
I saw a Peter Mcintyre on 1851 census age 28 Lanaster, Lancashire. Also on 1861 age 40 Liverpool, St Martin and 1871 age 50 Liverpool, St Martin.
Are you able to look at the actual census pages of these for me please to check if this is Peter and who else is living at the same address.

I don't think they came from Ireland. My gran always said her family were from Scotland.

Peter was her grandfather so she would have been very surprised that her father,Peters son John Stephen, was born in Liverpool.

Peter and Isabella had one son that I know of
John Stephen McIntyre born August 1852.
As they were married in 1849 it is likely they had 1 or 2 before him.

The 1871 is the same as the 1861.

If Patrick was a mariner, possible Isabella went to sea with him.

I wondered if the family went to Scotland, but can't find anything on the Scottish censi

I went on 1901 census on line and put in Peter McIntyre 1821 +?- 5 years. It came up with a Peter Mcintyre on the 1871 age 50 Liverpool St Martin and
in 1861 age 40 same place.

I was unable to view the census page as I haven't got credits.

I think this is the 1871 but he is a hawker and not yours. If Peter was a mariner there is a good chance he will not be on the census
