Do you have Lucy's marriage cert to Henry Loveridge?
It might be worth ordering the 1883 cert for Lucy and specifying her father's name as the Loveridge marriage as a checking point.

I fould Samuel's birth on freebmd - maybe it is a recent transcription?

I asked about William's occupation because the one Elouse found living with a brother Samuel was a stone mason, so I thought the occupation might tie in.

I am wondering about Lucy's name. She is Lucy Jane when she marries Loveridge but Lucy Mary in the 1893 marriage to William Henry, so wonder it is the same Lucy in both marriages.

Samuel's birth - this looks like a very strong possibility. Where did you find it Pam? Both myself and my Australian cousin have searched high and low without any success.

No it gives William's occupation as "deceased". Frank Booth was an Engineer's Storekeeper so maybe he was following in the footstep of his deceased father?

Is William's occuapation on Frank's marriage cer?

Because I have Frank Booth's marriage certificate (William Booth's son) his father's name is listed as William Henry Booth (deceased) and one of the witnesses is Lucy Loveridge who was Lucy Booth's (nee Jones) step-daughter.

If the only birth cert you have is Frank's which doesn't have a father's name, why do you think Lucy married a William Henry?

I don't think Lucy's husband was William Henry. I think he was just William and that the 1883 marriage was theirs. Mary was obviously born before then, so would have been Mary Jones, although I can't find her in 1881.

If you get the marriage cert it would give you William's father's name.

I wonder why there is no father's name on Frank's cert - a married woman would surely have put down her husband's name even if he wasn't the father unless he was dead and she doesn't say she is a widow on the census.

Mary was born 1879, Samuel born 1885 and Frank 1890. However despite their surnames been given as Booth I don's think it was. I can't find any of their births under the surname Booth apart from Frank, but when his birth certificate arrived today the father's name is not given. I found them listed on the 1890 census where they are all listed as Booth. The mother of Frank is definately Lucy Booth nee Jones. If they married in 1883 that is before Mary was born. It's a real mystery and extremely frustrating! Why did I ever start this? Best wishes.

Is either of these marriages his? Eccleshall covers Heeley. If it is the first, it looks as if Lucy had been married before.

Trying to find any information on William Henry Booth who married Lucy Jones in Heeley, Sheffield. He does not appear on any of the census records when I know he was alive ,due to the birth of children. I think he was born around 1857 in Sheffield or possibly Manchester. I would like to find his date of birth, who his family were and any other information.
