If the uncle emigrated in the 1920s-30s, he was an adult, I'm assuming. If he had a son who fought in WWII, he must have been born not much later than 1900, or before. |

Since that person is included in the Book of Remembrance and thus Canada's official records, it's very unlikely that the surname would be mistaken like that. |
