It's a little difficult to google for information about this, because of the big issue in Canada about the citizenship of war babies; you may be interested:

Gen. Roméo Dallaire, whose service in Rwanda has been the subject of a couple of movies, was a war baby.

btw, the only publicly accessible record he would appear in would be a death record if he was killed in WWII.

http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=collections/virtualmem

I scanned through the Johns and Jacks and the latest death was August 1944.

We Canadians don't have access to any records that would help, unfortunately. Taking Ontario as an example, the limitations for vital statistics access are:

births: 1909
marriages: 1924
deaths: 1934

A WWII serviceman falls outside all of them.

There are organizations that have been working for years to reunite war babies with their Canadian fathers (many of whom did not know they had children).

I understand that National Defence here will forward a letter to the serviceman's last known address. Lemme check a bit ...

Thanks for the contact, Unfortunatly my grandmother and he had a war time fling, and did not marry. I know he survived the war and returned to Canada.

I'm trying to find a Canadian Serviceman Named Jack Cooper who was stationed near Newick in the county of East Sussex, England during 1944-1945.

Any help would be much appriciated.
