Their marriage certificate will be the place to start -- if you don't have it.

In the probable time frame (do you know when they married?), and assuming he used his full name when he married (there being too many David and David E Davies to even begin to consider), this is the only one who may have married an Elizabeth Davies:

Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Bridgend
County: Glamorgan

You should always find the marriage first at

to check that things like volume and page number have been correctly transcribed.

If/when you have the marriage certificate, it will give their ages and fathers' names. Then you can go hunting backward.

Hi, I'm quite new to this and am trying to find information about my great grandfather David Emlyn Davies born sometime between 1870-1877 at Trevethin in South Wales. He married Elizabeth Davies 1866 from Ystradyfodwg. Can anybody help?
