Help finding Mary Ann Boal?

Hi I'm trying to find the family of Mary Ann Boal (maybe Boyle) all I know about her is that she was born in 1837 in Durham.

She married my 3 x gt grandfather Thomas William Hudson b 1836 in Chester le Street, Durham.

What I'm trying to find out is whether she is the mother of Thomas's 6 children or whether his other wife Margaret Denne nee Sloan was, I know that Margaret had a daughter prior to meeting Thomas also named Margaret Denne as i have found them in the census, but I can not find any proof that Mary Ann bore these 6 children one of them is my gtgt grandmother Elizabeth Hudson b 1877.

The other children are John Hudson c1865, Harriet Hudson c1867, Jane Christina Hudson c1872, Christina Hudson c1873, George W Hudson c1875

Can anyone find her for me as I don't know where else to look and my credit has run out on Ancestry, it would be also good to know whether she had any siblings herself and what her parents names were.

Thanking you in advance

Alaina

Do you not have Elizabeths B/C..and to know about them for definite would be to get all their B/Cs

Julie

Julie Report 25 Nov 2007 18:21

No she was know as Ada or Adia - took me ages to figure that one out! her full name was Elizabeth Ada Shaw Hudson

That's interesting Thomas's brother was called John Dodd Hudson but i don't have Jane Christina as his daughter.

I've just checked the copy of the 1881 census I have printed off for the family and there is a Jane on there aged 9, maybe they had daughters born in the same year?

The location will probably be Monkwearmouth btw

In your 1st post you have a Jane Christina Hudson c1872 & Christina Hudson c1873..are these not sisters...

Julie

Julie Report 25 Nov 2007 18:38

This is a hard one as i can't find them at all in the 1871..so i think the only way you'll know is from the B/C

Julie, Bernadette

Thanks for your help with this, they was something new there I didn't know Mary and Thomas were married in Auckland, Durham that is useful, at least it kinda proves they were married.

If Mary died in 1873 then that must mean that Margaret was George and Elizabeth/Ada's mother, I wonder whether Mary died in childbirth with Christina because she isn't on the 1881 census with the rest of them.

I'm going to send off for certificates next week I think to try and get this sorted out.

Thanks again for your help!!
