Actually, Keith, I posted the christening date from the BVRI discs and I didn't make a typo because I cut & pasted it. It even gave the mother's father's name.
I don't understand.

Update, Oh no! I made a mistake again! You're correct, Keith, what I posted was a birthdate. (Very unusual for BVRI, they're usually christening dates) But as you say it doesn't explain the different parents.

Margaret, did you post the Birth date of William Dancer Mills? Still does not explain different parents.

The baptism I found on BVRI gave the full name William Dancer Mills but the baptism was 21 June 1806, Westminster with parents James & Lucy.
The one you found on IGI was 31 Aug. 1806 with parents Robert & Lucy.
So close and yet not the same!
