Can any one help!!! I have had a marriage certificate delivered and I am struggling to read one of the surnames on there!

Would it be possible for someone to have a look for me to see if they can read it? I have the certificate available to email.

All help will be very much appreciated as I am getting very frustrated now!

Thanks

From IGI

ELIZABETH GAMMON

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Event(s):
Birth:
Christening: 12 MAY 1813 Kemerton, Gloucester, England

Death:
Burial:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parents:
Father: THOMAS GAMMON Family
Mother: ELIZABETH

It all fits although the birth is a tad earlier then expected, she wouldn't be the first to lose a few years

THOMAS GAMMON Male

Marriages:
Spouse: ELIZABETH GRIFFIN
Marriage: 19 JUL 1806 Kemerton, Gloucester, England

Now you need to find somebody to verify these details woth the actual parish registers

Good luck

Thanks for all your help. Looking through the bmd index on ancestry at the minute so hopefully will be able to confirm all the above.

Sarah, sorry you will not be able to confirm on BMD index, it only started in 1837! Unless you can find her first marriage to Mr Hughes.
To confirm you will need to check the parish records for Kemerton.

Just found her!! Found her first marriage to Joseph Hughes. The surname is Gammon.

Many thanks to you all for all your help!

Sarah, Ancestry won't be able to help you. Registration came in mid-1837, before then you need parish records.

Start a new thread headed Gloucestershire lookup please. Give ALL the details you have.

Somebody on the Records Board does them.

Ozi.

Thanks Keith. I was checking the marriage records I knew she was married before so I was cross referencing Gammon with the married name of Hughes. I knew birth records wouldn't be on ancestry but crossed my fingers that the marriage took place after 1837, which it did in 1838!

Thanks for that Ozi. I think parish records are the only way to go now to get confirmation on things.
