is there anyone here that would be able to help me with this.
john catten born 1812 brentford surrey died 1895 richmond surrey
i'd like to know if i can get access on line to his parents or siblings

Have you checked the IGI? It's on www.familysearch.org

I didn't know there was a Brentford in Surrey......live and learn!

you could try the family search site . as hes before 1837 you wont find a birth cert it will be parish records.

If you know when he married then the marriage cert will give his father (hopefully!!)

I know that Rebecca and the children were born in Richmond.....I was hoping any possible siblings (for John) might show up.........no such luck

but i haven't been able to link it up

On the IGI..Charles mum & dad Are John & Martha..but when you search with the parents names there is no son John
