Marion Montgomery Barr, my grandmother, born in Milton, Glasgow, grew up in Rutherglen, parents not married, father John Barr, ironplate apprentice of 73 Maitland Street, Glasgow and mother Susan Cameron, domestic servant of 395 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. She trained in Glasgow as a nurse. She married Albert James Harmon from Southampton and settled there, had four children, Albert, Alma, Edna and Marion (Marion was my mother).
